@Un7breakable oh gosh yes I think I remember you mentioning the CT scan on the feed at an earlier point. Have you tested at all yet?

Muriel84 · 10/05/2023 18:41

@Eirlys1986 @Un7breakable @TheFanciestPants i think we’re all 7/8dpo right?

@Eirlys1986 did you test again today? My ICs have arrived this eve was expecting them Friday. Fighting the urge…

Un7breakable · 10/05/2023 19:15

@Muriel84 @Eirlys1986 I'm 6dpo so too early I think.

Eirlys1986 · 10/05/2023 19:27

@Muriel84 of course I chuffing have, because I’m a fantasist with no self control 😂 and of course it’s negative. I am actually a bit cramping feeling in right side of pelvis today so maybe something or nothing. Good luck holding out. I will probably end up testing daily now as the POAS frenzy has begun 😂
@Un7breakable sorry I misunderstood and thought you were 12 DPO so was confused when I thought you hadn’t tested! Definitely too early, as evidenced by my silly testing at 8dpo above ⬆️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 10/05/2023 20:26

@Muriel84 I'll keep you posted on the luteal phase/vitamins etc- hopefully!

@Eirlys1986 and @Un7breakable I HATE testing. The disappointment on seeing a negative test, but having to peer at it to see if there is a faint line etc 😬 hate it! Would rather wait for period to arrive. So I'm always impressed when people test a lot!

What test are you using though @Eirlys1986? I might have to test tomorrow because I've got a boozy client dinner out. On the very very slim chance it's positive, I'll want to make sure I'm sipping one champagne all night rather than getting completely smashed

Mrsspoon3 · 10/05/2023 20:28

I’m a serial tester too @Eirlys1986, I love weeing on a stick! 😂 I’ve got my fingers crossed for you all who are getting near to testing!!

Muriel84 · 10/05/2023 20:32

@Eirlys1986 😂🙈

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 yeah I think I’ll test Friday cos I’d like a glass of wine in the eve if it’s negative. I’m not sure how I feel about early testing it’s not something I did last time we ttc.

Feeling generally pessimistic though.

Eirlys1986 · 10/05/2023 20:35

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I have used a mix so far- one cheapie one from work (which I am aware needs a higher HCG concentration to be positive so I know it will be negative but I do it anyway- madness I know!) and one of my clear blue earlies- it’s still really too early to use that either since most implantation happens around 8-10 dpo.
I think the reason I don’t feel negative about testing is because I haven’t had to go through prolonged periods of ttc. First baby took 6 months but tbh on reviewing actual proper concerted attempts it only took 2 cycles. I also had the experience of when I was pregnant testing negative all the way upto day 13 dpo on Frer then magically a positive on day 14 (in retrospect I think I implanted 12dpo). So I guess at present negative tests don’t really make me feel hopeless based on past experience as I would hope up until very last minute. I am aware I’m in a much nicer position than many who understandably really don’t like testing.
@Mrsspoon3 I do also hold my hands up and just admit I love peeing on sticks 🙈

Eirlys1986 · 10/05/2023 20:36

@Muriel84 sorry you are feeling pessimistic, I will still keep my fingers crossed and dipped in unicorn tears for you x

LeopardLover · 10/05/2023 20:53

@Angelsrose ah, blasted digital OPKs! I'm only turning to the cheap ones this cycle, but I'm pretty sure the Fertility Homeopath on YouTube explains why they are better. I need to watch that video - I've always used the digital ones but I'm saving them for in a few months time 😅 I might ditch them all together!

@emmatcc1 I'm quite looking forward to seeing some lines on a test 😂

Clairey332 · 10/05/2023 21:08

Can anyone explain why my Pre Mom ovulation App showed I had a high reading this afternoon and I tested this evening and it says low at 0.18?! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ x

Mrsspoon3 · 10/05/2023 22:27

@Angelsrose When I started taking uniquinol last time I was ttc it really delayed my ovulation - I had flashy smileys from day 16 and didn’t get a static one until day 23. Even then my bbt took a while to go up. I was convinced I wasn’t going to ovulate that month, but I must have as that was the month I got pregnant. So it might be the vitamins just delaying ovulation. Fingers crossed you get your peak soon!

39starstartry · 11/05/2023 08:02

My period is now officially late but I'm now getting negative tests. I just want it to arrive now so can reset for this month. It ain't usually delayed so it's very frustrating. Why does this happen is it just sod's law?

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 08:41

@39starstartry that sounds really frustrating! What tests are you using? Any chance ovulation may have happened later than predicted?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/05/2023 08:58

@39starstartry how late are you and how many dpo? Gah how annoying. As @Eirlys1986 could you have ovulated later possibly?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/05/2023 11:04

Well I'm joining you in the late period and negative test @39starstartry !

TheFanciestPants · 11/05/2023 11:28

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @39starstartry urgh. That sounds rubbish. Fingers crossed it gets easier soon.
@Muriel84 sorry you are feeling down about this cycle. I am 9 dpo today and I haven't had any spotting which I think is positive (maybe!). @Eirlys1986 and your unicorn chat has cheered me up (despite the ethical perils as I have been struggling a bit since mc). I applaud the ability to POAS early. I can't face it. My cycles have always been short (LP is normally 11ish days) so if I make it to 12dpo I will test then.

Mirla · 11/05/2023 12:30

I do like that we consider it to be important to be scientific whilst making use of mythical creature products. Maybe we can have them cry tears of joy though.

I'm at either 9/10dpo and tested today, negative. I'm feeling neutral though as that's maybe still a bit early and I'd also had a cup of tea in bed this morning, which may have counteracted the fmu magic.

@Muriel84 I'm on cycle four of TTC now. So, still pretty early days, but then again I'm turning 41 next month so it feels like I have a really finite number of chances left.

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 12:35

@Mirla I think tears of joy would definitely have increased potency when compared to tears of a depressed unicorn. Good luck to you for this cycle 👍🏻 😊
@TheFanciestPants Im not sure the early POAS is anything to applaud/admire! 😂 As I said to @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 earlier I consider myself really lucky to feel comfortable to POAS early as I’m not far enough into this current ttc journey or affected by a previously difficult journey to find it difficult to do the early testing. I am actually very admiring of those who have the self control to hold out and see what their body does naturally

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 11/05/2023 15:06

@TheFanciestPants no spotting sounds very positive, it was the month I didn't spot that I was pregnant.

@Mirla this is the thing with an early test, you can't rely on it! Good luck with the next one you do! And 41 isn't old for ttc, I was one of the younger in my antenatal group

Mirla · 11/05/2023 15:44

Thanks for the wishes!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 The internet really is absolutely full of doom and gloom about there being some kind of wall you hit with egg quality at 43 but since a lot of these studies seem to be from IVF it does make me wonder whether this isn't heavily influenced by a disproportionate number of people who have been trying a long time and had issues all along, but they only attempt IVF as a last resort. Maybe. Hard to say because so few articles actually cite sources. And then I'm hearing lots of "oh, my sister is pregnant at 42" and so on so it really can't be anything like as hopeless as a cursory internet search would lead you to believe...!

Mrsspoon3 · 11/05/2023 19:22

Oh I agree @Mirla! First time round I felt so anxious as I was about to turn 37 and all I read about was how at 37 your body just starts rapidly deteriorating as far as ttc is concerned! I was convinced I’d never get pregnant. But I know loads of people now in their 40s who have conceived. Someone I used to work with had their first baby recently and she was 41 with fibroids and endometriosis, so that really made me feel much more positive about things than all the scare stories on the internet had me feeling!

Like @Eirlys1986 Im also very admiring of those who have the willpower to wait and taste! I can’t do it! I’ve actually tested at 4dpo in the past, which is literally the most pointless thing ever! 😂 I actually don’t know why I do it as I’ve had 2 chemical pregnancies before which I wouldn’t have known about it I hadn’t tested earlier, but I actually find a negative test much less disheartening than getting my period for some reason! Plus I hate having hope when I might be disappointed so I like to nip any hopes I might have in the bud by doing a test haha

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 19:30

@Mrsspoon3 on reflection the nipping the bud thing may well be why I do it too, plus loving poas! My test tonight at 9dpo remains negative but I’m not too disheartened yet, have had some cramps today but who knows if this is just wishful thinking or AF getting ready to arrive early. I have also testing at ridiculous points in dpo window, it is so weird but I just can’t stop myself! 😂
@Mirla my mum had her first and only pregnancy (me of course!) aged 42 years within 3 weeks of being taken off the pill for high BP. So yes, from my personal experience completely able to conceive later in life. It may take longer but hopefully we should all get there eventually 🤞
After my negative test tonight I found this online page which I found interesting about rates of positive test on different dpo in a sample of pregnant women. 10-11 dpo seems to be a turning point and most sensible time to test if the data is at all trustworthy so if you’ve held out you are very sensible @Muriel84 as I know you plan to test at 10dpo

LeopardLover · 11/05/2023 19:41

@Mirla It's still early days for you! I really like the Fertility Homeopath because she says it's all about egg (& sperm) health! It doesn't necessarily matter your age if you're optimising those babies. Some threads on here are really doom and gloom but the truth is loads of women have kids well into their forties. I really hope this is your cycle!

I'm looking forward to starting my OPKs this weekend, although I've decided to start testing from CD10. It's really fascinating how the Fertility Homeopath suggests ovulating early or late could impact your chances of getting pregnant. I think I'll watch some more videos tonight!

Eirlys1986 · 11/05/2023 19:46

Ah balls, I just went to clear the bathroom bin out (honestly wasn’t rootling around in there like a crazy person) and saw the test I had chucked in there after a 3 min wait around 1.5 hours ago. And it has a very faint line on it. I highly suspect this is an evap line but it has a teeny band of colour to one end of it, I’ve never had an evap line before so would really appreciate some brutal honesty from those who have had before as to whether this looks like that. I promise I shan’t be offended or upset with people for telling me their honest opinion. I haven’t told partner as don’t want to bother him if turns out to be nothing
