@Eirlys1986 You are right, although I think I probably have a 1% chance as I didn't take any OPKs and we only managed to catch the end of my fertile week 😅 I have my normal pre-period pains today. I'd probably just ignore them but I'm definitely noticing things more!

What DPO are you?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I think it's just personal preference! The Huberman Lab podcast put me off alcohol in general but I rarely drink anyway so it wasn't a difficult move. I did avoid after work drinks yesterday so I think it will be awkward to keep up!

Eirlys1986 · 05/05/2023 11:52

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I will not drink at coronation party at in laws tomorrow, don’t think it will necessarily increase anyone’s suspicions as I sometimes go through not drinking phases. I’m only 4dpo though so have no way of reassuring myself it’s ok to drink. I think a small glass of something if negative at 8dpo isn’t going to break the bank
@LeopardLover as mentioned ⬆️ I am only 4dpo, going to try to hold out till day 10 ish to test

Eirlys1986 · 05/05/2023 11:55

@Muriel84 urgh hate night shifts, one of main reasons I switched to GP

Mummyme87 · 05/05/2023 11:56

My BFF just found out she’s having a girl for her second baby, I cried 😞 I’m so happy for her obvs but just an emotional day. Cried earlier watching a TikTok video of a woman telling her two kids she was pregnant again. I think I did this last cycle also around this many dpo.

still have tender boobs but not as bad as usual. Otherwise nothing really. A bit twingy on left side groin area again but yeah that would happen in luteal phase as a lot happens

FiddleLeaf · 05/05/2023 12:03

Big love to you @Mummyme87 . You can be happy for them and sad for yourself at the same time. It’s such a confusing set of emotions.

I seem to be peaking today. I’ve just taken an OPK having been far less vigilant this month. We’ve DTD every other day because we’ve wanted to rather than looking at the calendar & it’s been fun! Relieved to get into the 2WW knowing all the can be done has been.

LeopardLover · 05/05/2023 12:03

@Mummyme87 Oh bless you! It's understandable you feel emotional. I bet I'd cry watching this videos too!

@Eirlys1986 Oh yes, a little while to go. Hoping it passes quickly for you and the bank holiday helps with that!

It seems my period prediction was correct as I've just had spotting and cramping! Should be in full swing by tonight. The audacity of it arriving 2 days early though 😅

Muriel84 · 05/05/2023 12:04

@Mummyme87 oh hun take it easy on yourself. Maybe watch some TikTok videos of something else?! So hard when people we love fall pregnant. Such difficult mixed emotions when you just want to feel happy for them but can’t cos you feel so sad for yourself. I’ve been there. Tbh even when we weren’t ttc I found it really hard when friends were pregnant. Sounds like you have some positive symptoms tho.

@Eirlys1986 i hardly do any cos I’m LTFT but maybe that makes it worse?! was super anxious about them after mat leave but managed to delay them a few months an bub was sleeping better by then. And quickly found out I was much better rested on nights cos I got a lovely undisturbed kip in the day!

Eirlys1986 · 05/05/2023 12:19

@Mummyme87 sorry about how you’re feeling, it’s so hard when others close to you are pregnant and you’re still waiting. It will be your turn, believe that x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 05/05/2023 13:45

@Mummyme87 we all understand, it's a hard mix of emotions to see others pregnant when it's not happening for us. Hope you're okay.

@LeopardLover I'm really sorry, but how weird for it to come earlier

@Eirlys1986 @LeopardLover and @Muriel84 I would def have one or two small glasses anyway. We are at parties with friends this weekend where a lot of alcohol will be consumed, and I think i was wondering if I'm being ridiculous in being a lot more careful with my consumption when in all likelihood if I get a negative tomorrow then I am not pregnant. And also completely sober when everyone else will be drunk, only to have my period arrive in a couple of days

Muriel84 · 05/05/2023 14:29

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 i would have a drink and unwind and enjoy the party with my friends in that situation I think. The advantage of not drinking much these days is I’m pretty pissed after two small glasses of wine! Hope you have fun and can take your mind off things x

Eirlys1986 · 05/05/2023 14:33

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 definitely just go and have fun if testing negative. I may sound like a horrendous doctor but I think even if you tested negative then a few days later got a positive a few drinks will be highly unlikely to affect anything. It’s sustained or heavy alcohol intake in pregnancy which is a complete no no. Obviously would be ideal in first trimester to have nothing at all but life.ain’t. Ideal. 😂

LeopardLover · 05/05/2023 15:10

@FiddleLeaf Your relaxed approach sounds perfect to me!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Thank you. I'm looking forward to it just starting now! Although I think we might have to start DTD on holiday when we're sharing a villa with our pals. Never mind 🤣 I hope you have a really fun and relaxing weekend where you can take your mind off TTC.

@Eirlys1986 You actually sound like an amazing doctor! 🌟

Eirlys1986 · 05/05/2023 16:54

@LeopardLover thanks 😊

VixFromThe6ix · 05/05/2023 18:36

I'm a little confused today. 8dpo as per my app. Or course I tested and got my stark white bfn. I figured I'm out this cycle cause of no DTD.

Went for a walk with my son as we are finally getting some sunshine and warmth, came home to pee and saw a little bit of pink with some thick cm on my underwear.

I can't possibly be getting my period yet, right? What could be causing this?

I've been feeling extra short fuse-y and emotional this week so it feels like my period is coming. I'm just confused why it's a week early.....

@VixFromThe6ix completely no DTD this cycle at all? I’m only asking in case perhaps ovulation dates got mixed up etc?

Mummyme87 · 05/05/2023 18:59

If you had conceived could be implantation bleed? @VixFromThe6ix

Did you DTD 2 days before ovulation? Because that's perfect timing if so (say the fertility podcasts I've listened to)! Slight pink tinge in CM can be implantation!! I did a Google because I had this earlier today thinking it was my period. I'm 12 DPO so it's unlikely (& if I recall correctly, this happened to me with my son when I didn't conceive) but at 8 DPO... It's a great sign. Crossing my fingers for you! X

VixFromThe6ix · 05/05/2023 19:35

@Eirlys1986 we DTD two days before ovulation. Couldn't do it day before or the day of. So having just done it once didn't feel like high chances to me.

@Mummyme87 I had a blood test for fertility clinic on Tuesday which would have made me 5dpo, would it have detected anything? I got pregnant 3 times and never had implantation bleeding. Not to say it's not possible... I just really don't think this is it but also have no idea what it could be.... This is throwing me for a loop

OP posts:
VixFromThe6ix · 05/05/2023 19:40

@LeopardLover I would be shocked if it's implantation.... Obviously in a good way!!! but I counted myself out this cycle for sure. Doing it once during fertility window at 39 with husband that's on TRT just seems like wishful thinking. How long after implantation would cheapie sticks pick it up? Cause we know I'm not patient lol

OP posts:
Eirlys1986 · 05/05/2023 19:44

@VixFromThe6ix never say never, although I know it’s difficult to get your hopes up. I tested positive 48 hours post implantation (which Im confident I know timing of as cramps and small clot passed at the time). Tested negative day of implantation and next day then day after that boom very positive test

Eirlys1986 · 05/05/2023 19:44

Ps I also implanted at 12 DPO which is very late, completely normal pregnancy following that

VixFromThe6ix · 05/05/2023 19:52

@Eirlys1986 that's good to know, thank you... I will try testing again at 10dpo see if there is a squinter. I just hope it's not what I had before when I had low progesterone and I spotted for a week before my period every month, it caused me two pregnancies and I'm forever traumatized by spotting on days I shouldn't

OP posts:
Eirlys1986 · 05/05/2023 20:04

@VixFromThe6ix That’s so tough, I will keep my fingers so crossed for you that it isn’t low progesterone related and rather potentially a lovely surprise xxxx

I feel like if you were going to pick one day to DTD, that's a great one (from what I've heard)! Never say never. Hoping it's not misleading spotting and it's actually the best sign for you! 48 hours... You've got this 💪🏻

That's good to hear for me! Although the cramps I have don't feel like the crazy ones I had with my toddler, these just feel like regular 'period is looming' cramps. And I often get them days before AF arrives. The pink CM is unusual for me though. Also had constipation today, equally unusual! However, I think I'm just putting two and together and making five. 😅

If there's no AF in the morning I might pee on a cheap HCG for the lolz. I'm not wasting a FRER 😅
