I'm going to ring gp tomorrow about getting a referral. Has anyone gone through any of the tommys clinics?

FfoxRedN · 18/05/2023 19:57

@bringmearainbow I went to Quenby at Coventry, which was for a trial (she tested all my bloods and then I did the Doxycycline Endometrisis trial) and then testing with Prod Brosens for NK cells but I had to pay for it. I'll send you the details (you can do this your next cycle).
I also got referred to @bunnykins123 Shehata clinic but that was 7 months ago and I've still not heard anything back about it so not quick xx

@FfoxRedN thanks lovely xxx

bunnykins123 · 18/05/2023 20:28

@bringmearainbow I did mine locally, I didn't go to Dr S private clinic (although I emailed twice in the past but chickened out both times as they send the prices back to you as part of their response and it's £££££). They responded to me v quickly so I wonder if @FfoxRedN was unlucky there? I am part of Dr S NHS team though and that took 8 months start to finish to get results then a further 3 months of taking the meds (hydroxy) to get a bfp. Dr S is now my consultant and I've met him a couple of times this pregnancy (all NHS). I did my tests privately at my local ivf clinic as I was preparing to go down that route as I hadn't had a bfp in months. My clinic specialises in immunology though so I could have had NK cells test done with them. Let me know if you have any quezzys!

bunnykins123 · 18/05/2023 20:33

@bringmearainbow sorry just seen @FfoxRedN was referred! You can get referred to his clinic (it's the Epsom and St Helier Borough) but it's well known to take ages as he is a specialist in immunology and believes in NK cells whereas most NHS boroughs don't treat / believe in this. So I agree with @FfoxRedN if you go down that route it can take a while, but you can go to him privately which is quick!

bringmearainbow · 19/05/2023 16:55

This is what bupa will and won't cover. Looks like they will cover a few at least it's something 🤷🏼‍♀️

bunnykins123 · 19/05/2023 20:33

@bringmearainbow that's a really good starting point! I would go ahead and get those that are covered arranged and look to find a private clinic for AMH, FSH/LH, NK cells (if you choose to get that tested) & vitty d. I'm not sure if the others relate to fertility but maybe someone else can else on here can advise. The only expensive one in that list is NK Cells - the rest are fairly reasonable and are done in one go.

MrsJGrealish · 19/05/2023 21:35

@bringmearainbow glad some tests are covered..hope you're resting and keeping ok.. ❤️

I

MrsJGrealish · 19/05/2023 21:49

Pretty sure it's not peri for me. I had a full on row with work menopausal people who wanted to put air conditioning on today. I was wearing two heavy jumpers, was absolutely baltic and was like 'the fuck you are putting that on' just the longest cycle in my history of cycles 🙄 girls that ovulate late, I applaud you x

TheBirdintheCave · 19/05/2023 22:31

@MrsJGrealish Haha yeah ovulating later than average does get super boring 😂

LuckyMoonstone · 19/05/2023 22:45

@TheBirdintheCave @MrsJGrealish I feel seen 😂 it is soooo boring waiting to O

bunnykins123 · 19/05/2023 23:07

@MrsJGrealish boring and expensive - especially if your using the clear blue ovulation kits!

MrsJGrealish · 19/05/2023 23:21

@bunnykins123 CD370 no just CD37 near 38 now. In the end I only used four of those. One had a fault, one gave me a blank face, one gave me a static and I did one last week just to stare at it, meaninglessly. Didn't even put it in the device 😂

MrsJGrealish · 19/05/2023 23:27

After the shock peak I reverted to easy@home 🙈 I really hope I'm not in for a hell of an AF once it arrives 😢 holiday on Thursday too

MrsJGrealish · 19/05/2023 23:30

@LuckyMoonstone I see you hun 🤣😘

curliegirlie · 20/05/2023 08:32

@MrsJGrealish that is such a weird batch of tests.... just shows how much it varies. I'm pretty sure when TTC my first two I would get a day or two of peaks, this time round it seems to be up and down n a matter of hours and my baseline LH is consistently low 🤷‍♀️.

I have to say I'm glad the long and annovulatory cycles from DD1 are a thing of the past. They were ridiculously frustrating.

bringmearainbow · 20/05/2023 08:51

@bunnykins123 thanks lovely. I'll speak to the consultant about doing them privately with her they can do them all together then.

@MrsJGrealish I'm getting there good moments and crappy ones. Oooh long cycles totally suck there's too much limbo 🙄

MrsJGrealish · 20/05/2023 08:56

@curliegirlie why are they weird? X

curliegirlie · 20/05/2023 10:17

@MrsJGrealish Sorry, I didn't really mean weird, I just meant in comparison to mine, they're so up and down. But, I think there's a big variety of normal - as I said, my LH patterns seem to have changed a lot over the various times I've been TTC. I also use one step rather than easy@home which might have different levels of dye and May explain why I do rarely catch a proper peak.

FfoxRedN · 20/05/2023 11:40

@MrsJGrealish mine are normally like yours. I do think easy@home are sensitive but I've always read that as normal. Mine seem to always dip to almost 0 before the peak rise too. The clear blue digis always seemed way too complicated!!
I think your GP should be able to test FSH and LH as part of a thyroid profile and they can def do VitD but as @bunnykins123 says they're the cheaper ones if you need to go private anyway. The biggy is the NKCells which is controversial and I am sure I read on another group (or maybe this one 🤣) that clinics for that are rare in NI xxx

OP posts:
FfoxRedN · 20/05/2023 11:41

Sorry @bringmearainbow I got totally confused there. Your tests I was referring too, and you're not in NI 🤣🤣🤣 xx

OP posts:
MrsJGrealish · 20/05/2023 11:48

@FfoxRedN yea I seem to get a long surge 🤷‍♀️ I got those checked recently actually along with progesterone and oestradiol and all came back normal. But this was one day in a cycle. I think it was me complaining on this thread actually 😂 9dpo today I maybe would have tested this morning but I had cramping last night for a few hours so she's likely on her way xx

MrsJGrealish · 20/05/2023 11:48

@FfoxRedN baby brain lol 🤣🤣

FfoxRedN · 20/05/2023 11:53

@MrsJGrealish the trouble with cramping is that it can be either way! I could never tell what was what. Yeah deffos, just got back from a few days in Athens and I think I'm in a daze. Beautiful place though if anyone's looking for a 3-4 day break somewhere xx

OP posts:
bringmearainbow · 20/05/2023 17:08

@FfoxRedN 🤣🤣 baby brain 🙊 I'll speak to the gp if I can actually get through I rang on Friday but no luck will try again Monday and if still no luck I might ring works private doctor and see if he can write me the referral. Oooh Athens very nice. We need to book our July holiday I cannot wait to get away even if it's going to be toddler crazy hell 😂

the endocrinologist rang me today he said my tsh is now back to normal my t3 and antibodies were below what he would like. He said that he will get gp to do repeats in 8-12 weeks and when we get pregnant again it should be monitored closely and he would put me on thyroxine it was hard to take it all in as DS was being noisy but he's writing me a letter to explain it all thankfully
