@bringmearainbow christmws baby is perfect I think. It’s such a magical time of year. All nice and snug!

@TheBirdintheCave oooh so close. Good news about all the follies. You shall become a pro at the injections. You got this!

@FfoxRedN oh no hun. So sorry it wasn’t totally positive news for you. But reiterate what the others have said. I have heard of it. A lot. An think it is very common. That one twin vanishes early on. Even in twins that continue there tends to always be one that does better than the other in terms of growth etc.
There is EVERY chance the other babe is and will be fine. And measuring bang on dates with a heartbeat is a good sign at this stage! So hold onto that. No matter how hard it is to stay positive. ❤️

LuckyMoonstone · 17/04/2023 21:36

@FfoxRedN oh chick I’m sorry you lost a twin 😞 as a few of the others have said, it isn’t super rare, it is certainly something I have seen come up loads on MN. Of course that doesn’t make it any less sad as you were expecting two, but there’s still lots of positivity and hope to be had for the other baby

Floralsandsmiles · 17/04/2023 22:06

Hi ladies.
Feeling a little overwhelmed 😕
So I'm 36 in july and myself and DH are having fertility issues. I am spotting about 6 days prior to AF for the last 3 months and worried on luteal phase..

Our GP has carried out tests and have found the following..
Scan showed normal endometriosis thickness, no cysts, both ovaries are functioning, left slightly better.
Bloods have been done on CD 3 and CD21.
Bloods have come back as low iron and all levels are fine, however testosterone is slightly Elevated. Low iron could contribute to this, so they will repeat in 8 weeks when iron supplement has kicked in. If testosterone is still high this could indicate PCOS and will be the reason we can't conceive.
I mentioned I fell pregnant 12 years ago on contraception and the GP said that the contraception could have assisted with normalising hormone imbalance, and helped us conceive!
The GP has asked that we look into this syndrome and lifestyle changes, as that could help?
If testosterone remains High, I'm assuming there is no medication to fix this? Other than contraception, which won't help us conceive??
Girls I'm so upset and a little devasted to be honest. Please help with any advice you have?
Thank you in advance! Xxx

@Floralsandsmiles hey, I have PCOS and high testosterone alone isn’t enough to diagnose it. I have had a year of nhs fertility treatment and they have been amazing trying all sorts to get me to ovulate with ivf as the final stage. It sounds like you are ovulating? Could your gp refer you to fertility? GPs aren’t always great at understanding fertility issues and what they mean. The scans all sound promising so don’t give up hope!

Hi @Alexis7890 , thank you for your message back. The GP said if the repeat bloods in 8 weeks are still high on testosterone, they will refer me to gynaecology as I don't qualify for fertility. Gynaecology will only help me get PCOS under Control, not aid fertility. 😒
I think I am ovulating as I'm having periods, LH peaks when testing and scans indicate ovaries are functioning. But testosterone would indicate a different type of PCOS the GP said? I'm so confused and overwhelmed 😕 xxx

bunnykins123 · 18/04/2023 07:59

@Floralsandsmiles I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I have no advice about high testosterone or PCOS but did have other fertility issues that were successfully addressed. Have you tried getting a second opinion privately? I found that private seem to have a lot more options than the NHS and GPS are not very knowledgable in this area.

Thank you @bunnykins123 . I will be trying to lose some weight as that seemed to be at the top of the list in trying to lower testosterone (in my research). So I'm hopeful this will solve the infertility issue.. if this doesn't solve the issue, I will have to get a private consult yes xx

calimc83 · 18/04/2023 09:40

@FfoxRedN hey lovely, just seen your update. I'm ever so sorry you have lost a twin..I can totally get where u are coming from in the worry about the other twin. As others have said it's good news that the other twin is measuring right on track. If it was a chromosome issue would that cause vanishing twin syndrome though? It's not something I know anything about but I have heard of it xxx

bunnykins123 · 18/04/2023 16:19

@FfoxRedN how are you doing today? 💕

FfoxRedN · 18/04/2023 16:41

@calimc83 thank you. I've looked into it a bit but then started to see negative articles so stopped researching it. Only time will tell what'll happen so just got to ride it out.

@bunnykins123 I am not sure is the honest answer. Somewhere trapped between dispair at it all and hope that one is still ok...for now. I just know the chances of the one left going the way of the others is high. DH has taken it really bad and is quite negative which I'm finding difficult. Work has been ok today, but now on my way home I'm almost dreading it. It'll pass in time I am sure, I just wish there was a way to see the future or speed up time xx

Sorry that's such a negative post I just don't know how else to explain it xx

@FfoxRedN makes perfect sense 💝 hold on to some hope though..I know it's hard believe me but this may be the miracle bean ❤️

TheBirdintheCave · 18/04/2023 17:50

@FfoxRedN Perfectly valid to feel how you're feeling. We can be positive for you ❤️ Feel free to vent to us as much as you want.

TheBirdintheCave · 18/04/2023 18:06

I am so ill again guys. I only had a cold last week and now I've got another. I am so pissed off. Feels like I catch something every time I go into London 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

MrsJGrealish · 18/04/2023 18:45

@TheBirdintheCave my cold never really cleared. I thought it did but it took another turn. I've started amoxicillin today. Green phlegm everywhere 🤢

Hope you're ok xx

TheBirdintheCave · 18/04/2023 18:53

@MrsJGrealish There's definitely something horrid doing the rounds this spring. I'm sorry you're still ill :( I'm hoping I'll be feeling better tomorrow and that this is just a 24 hour thing.

MrsJGrealish · 18/04/2023 18:58

@TheBirdintheCave thanks lovely
🥰 I'm hoping this sorts it. I've been feeling crappy since the Tuesday before easter 🙄 hopefully your illness is over quickly xx 😘

bunnykins123 · 18/04/2023 19:52

@FfoxRedN I think it's completely understandable to feel the way you do. Like the others have said, try to stay positive - this maybe your little rainbow beanie 🌈 so far there is no indication of a problem so try and hold onto that 💕

@MrsJGrealish is that the banana stuff? Or is that just the stuff they give to kids as it tastes so yummy. I hope you feel better soon, there really is something going round - I've not felt good for a good few weeks either! I blame my little super spreader, she's currently tucked up in bed with another cold 🤦‍♀️

@TheBirdintheCave I feel for you, I feel like I get something every other week at the moment. I go into London daily and it's just grim. So many poorly people on the tubes and trains. Hard to avoid though! I hope you get better soon and it doesn't develop into anything too bad!

MrsJGrealish · 18/04/2023 21:19

@bunnykins123 well it would be banana if I got the liquid version..on attached caps. I haven't eaten much in about 2 weeks just feel rank ☹️
Haha patient zero curled up in bed, wee pet 💝 hope she's ok xx

calimc83 · 18/04/2023 22:25

@FfoxRedN I know it's easier said than done but definitely try and stay off Dr Google ( which I can never do 😬) xx

bringmearainbow · 19/04/2023 09:10

Morning lovelies I hope everyone feels better soon I think the weather going back and forth is making our bodies be like wtf let's get sick 🙄

@FfoxRedN it's only natural to feel the way you do any of us would ❤️ not very helpful that DH is being negative that is def not what you need but equally we all have our own way of dealing with things and that is obviously his way 🤦🏼‍♀️ I hope he snaps out of it a bit for you though. Wish I could make ut all better for you lovely xxx

TheBirdintheCave · 19/04/2023 09:14

Feeling a bit better this morning and my Covid test was negative thank god. That would be the last thing I need right now. I've taken the day off work but feel very guilty about that. What with the miscarriage in Dec/Jan and then Strep A I feel like I've had so much time off work lately x_x

bringmearainbow · 19/04/2023 10:12

@TheBirdintheCave glad you're feeling better and I'm very glad it isn't covid! Dont feel bad you can't help being sick. I feel the same as you when I've been iff but honestly the effort I put in all other times makes me feel less bad

TheBirdintheCave · 19/04/2023 10:19

@bringmearainbow Yeah that is true. I do work hard when I have work to do.

Two days to go til medication ordering day and then it's just waiting for AF on Tuesday and my first stabby day on Wednesday 😥

bringmearainbow · 19/04/2023 10:25

@TheBirdintheCave how are you feeling about doing the injections?

TheBirdintheCave · 19/04/2023 10:31

@bringmearainbow Really scared. I've no idea how I'm going to be able to do it. I couldn't do my Fragmin injections after I had G. Someone had to come every day and do the jab for me 😂I'm not scared of needles at all I just can't imagine inflicting pain on myself.
