Hoping we all get BFP and sticky babies in this months cycle.

Its CD 1 for me on my 2nd cycle TTC, and it will be my first month tracking OPKs. So I need loads of tips on when to begin and how to track.

When do you usually ovulate? I ovulate between CD13-15 so start testing twice a day on CD10.

Babyhopeful23 · 01/04/2023 20:57

@Un7breakable im not entirely sure. I know I definitely get the EWCM but I never charted it. Last months cycle I didn’t get it at all. I have a 31 day cycle, so it may happen later. I’m going to start charting CM this month and doing OPKs. Thanks for the help, I’ll start at CD 10 and I’ve just downloaded Premom app.

Hi! I'm on cd14 today and think I ovulated around CD18 last month. Had a false positive last month, maybe a shadow on a line not sure and drove myself a bit mad and sad with it all!
Hoping this month is the month... My sis-in-law just announced her pregnancy today and would love for them to grow up together!

Ttcdcno1 · 01/04/2023 21:25

Hi!
Im CD21 and think I ovulated on CD13. Didn’t manage to find my peak on opks this month but my bbt seemed to indicate that I’d ovulated so who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️
tested today on an internet cheapie with a bfn so going to try again in a couple of days.
sending baby dust to all ☺️x

Feliciacat · 01/04/2023 23:44

@Babyhopeful23 thank you for the thread! OPKs are great because you might be ovulating earlier or later than you’d thought. So definitely use them for at least a couple of cycles (though hopefully you’ll only get to use them for one cycle)!

@Un7breakable which CD are you on now and how many cycles have you been trying?

@RegardingPersephone sorry about the false positive, that must have brought you right up then crashing down. I hope your future child gets to grow up with your future niece or nephew! Even if they don’t end up the exact same age, it’ll happen.

@Ttcdcno1 apparently some people peak in the evening so if you test each morning, you’ll have missed the peak iyswim. 7dpo is quite early to test so I hope you get a BFP in a few days!

I’m 35 and DP is 41. We are going to be on cycle 4 come April 15th. I would be in my tww now but he had a prostate infection and has been far too unwell to dtd recently. I’m CD13 atm and I ovulate on CD11. There’s no way I’ll have conceived unless his sperm have lived for five days! We are getting married in May so April or May would be great times to conceive. Baby dust to all!

This is cycle #3 and I'm on CD11, although not sure we'll DTD this month for various reasons.

RegardingPersephone · 02/04/2023 07:13

Hi all, did an opk this morning and got this line. This is the strongest one I've ever had! Do you think it is a peak? I'm going to test later today too. Bit earlier than last month if so!

When do you DTD after getting a peak? Trying for every three days but does it need to be more?

April TTC thread
Feliciacat · 02/04/2023 07:32

@RegardingPersephone I think that is definitely a peak. With the ones I use, I get smiley faces depending on if I have high fertility or peak fertility and I dtd every other day during high fertility and then once on the day of the peak and once the day after.

Of course, it’s whatever works for you as a couple. However, I was under the impression that once you hit the peak, you only have 24-48 hours to get pregnant. So I reckon it’s best to dtd today and tomorrow.

RegardingPersephone · 02/04/2023 07:47

Thank you @Feliciacat ! I didn't see your earlier reply either but thank you for the well wishes. I've never caught my peak before so I'm hoping that knowing it will help me catch that pesky egg! Going to DTD a lot over the next few days. Glad I was testing as I thought my ovulation was days later! No worried because we didn't do it Friday or Saturday! 😬 Will make up for it 😂.

Feliciacat · 02/04/2023 08:03

@RegardingPersephone I found the same when I tested for ovulation. I assumed it was midway through my (very regular) cycle. It’s actually day 11 of 26! Good luck and don’t worry about not dtd in the last few days. I’ve heard that sperm quantity gets reduced if you dtd too much so every day can be too much unless it’s your peak. So your partner will be recharged from not dtd and that’s probably better!

RegardingPersephone · 02/04/2023 09:03

@Feliciacat Oh that's a good point! Thank you that is actually quite reassuring.

Testing can be very good but also induces some anxiety I think!

buckingmad · 02/04/2023 11:04

Hi! Cycle 2 of ttc#2. I have a 20mo little girl.

first cycle I sadly miscarried at 5 weeks. Just got my period yesterday so cd2 for me. Will get my thermometer out for this cycle too just to confirm when I ovulate.

Mauhea · 02/04/2023 11:28

Hiya! I'd love to join. Cycle 4 ttc#1 with one ovary and tube. CD14 and temp dipped this morning so assuming tomorrow will be 1dpo :)

HoneyBlossoms112 · 02/04/2023 11:41

Hello ladies,
Im going to jump in in this thread too!
I’m 34, this is cycle #4 of tracking ‘properly’ for us. Not even a sniff of a BFP yet, and this would be my first baby.
I know it’s still early, but the mind races about if I’ve left it too late to try, or that something is wrong as it’s been x4 cycles. All my friends have kids, some of them were not even actively trying to get pregnant, and sometimes I’m feeling like it’s just not going to happen.
Anyhoo, I’m trying to stay positive as it’s not even been a year yet.
I’m around 7dpo and zero symptoms. Going to test on Friday.

Jellyfish1956 · 02/04/2023 12:14

Hi all! I hope it's ok to join. 36 years old, TTC number 1 and this is cycle number 8. Trying to remain positive and not give up hope! Currently 2DPO. Managed to BD on cycle day 8, 10 and 12 with a positive LH surge on day 12. Hoping it will be enough and timing was ok. Best of luck to everyone this month!

buckingmad · 02/04/2023 12:39

@HoneyBlossoms112 i was 26 when I first started trying for my first. Slim, fit, don’t smoke or drink much, healthy diet etc etc. still took us 12 months to fall pregnant! 4 months really isn’t long so don’t worry (I know you probably still will 😂).

HoneyBlossoms112 · 02/04/2023 13:29

Aww thanks for the words of support @buckingmad , and I know that I’m getting ahead of myself. It’s good to hear that you still managed to convince after 12 months, that’s why I like looking at these forums, the success stories keep us all going! X

Jennifer89 · 02/04/2023 14:41

🙋🏽‍♀️ count me in after AF just arrived.. Month 7 ttc here we come..

Jennifer89 · 02/04/2023 14:46

Also seems an unpopular opinion but would love a baby born in January for different reasons..

Kimbo8866 · 02/04/2023 15:49

Hello ladies, sorry to jump in on your discussion.
My period is 5 days late but tests are negative. I'm usually on time.
I tried to find when I was ovulating earlier in the month but didn't seem overly successful so I either didn't ovulate or did but later. I've tried Google and it says of you ovulate late, your missed period could be too early to be positive and to wait 2-3 weeks after the missed period.
Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this? Trying not to get my hopes up. Thank you x

Babyhopeful23 · 02/04/2023 15:56

@Jennifer89 welcome! Hope this is your lucky month! My boys birthday is Jan 1st and I wouldn’t mind another January birthday.

@Feliciacat congrats on the upcoming wedding at least that will occupy the mind while TTC. It’s such a busy time!

April baby dust to all those who have just joined!

Looking back I think I ovulated earlier than I thought. We only DTD on cycle day 12/13 every other day through to CD 22. I bet I just missed the window. I’m hoping that the OPKs will identify it this month. My period lasts 6/7 days and I thought it would be too close to the end of my period to ovulate but I’m guessing that it’s a possibility!

@Babyhopeful23 thank you so much! :)

I think you probably should start testing on day 7 or 8 just to see if you are approaching your peak. I am at that time but I never thought I would be. I literally thought days 13-15 were the peak times but this is not true at all necessarily.

I have attached the info from my Clearblue test instructions. It was an eye opener for me so I hope it’s useful for people on this thread.

@Babyhopeful23 thank you, hopefully will be lucky number 7 😅..
Fingers crossed for you too!

Things I am doing this month:

I have starting taking Coq10 supplement along with usual multivitamin plus folic acid and vitamin d

Also purchased the Fertilily cup as said to dh if nothing by 6 months would be worth giving it a go..

Hi all,

I'll join if you dont mind, we are trying to conceive number 2 but last month i had a 52 day cycle! (Id be on the pill) and this month I am on day number 40...

I am quite overweight now compared to the last time i was off contraception so that could be why my cycles are so long....
