3DPO in the two week wait - anyone else?

SophT27 · 15/03/2023 17:38

Hi Everyone,

I am currently 3DPO and beginning the agonising 2ww period.

this is the first month I managed to actually catch my peak on OPK’s which I think it making it all the more agonising.

i’m not holding out much hope, myself and my husband have been trying for around 9 months, but this month is the first time I’ve got more of an idea of when I ovulated which I think is making things worse.

I’m already reading into anything weird that is happening with my body, and would really appreciate the company during the next 2 weeks.

Hi @SophT27, I’m 5DPO today, also 9 months TTC. Trying not to symptom spot too much so I don’t drive myself mad, but I was a bit nauseous this morning! Fingers crossed for us both x

@GabbyGal hopefully it will be both of our month.

i’m trying not to get my hopes up, I think this next 2 weeks are going to be harder because of knowing when my peak was.

all day today my tongue has felt really weird and I’ve had this horrible taste in my mouth, I’m sure it’s nothing but it has been irritating me all day and now I think I’m reading too much into it.

will you wait to test?

Hey gals,

Joining the TWW thread.

7DPO, although I have PCOS so my cycles aren't always super regular so there is always room for error tbh with the tracking.

We have only just started TTC as we're getting married in June so decided that this year we'd like to get pregnant if possible.

I had a chemical pregnancy in December so haven't experienced the agony of TWW before as it was a surprise BFP.

Anywaysssss, yes love the company for the TWW. Because I've had some small twinges on the lower abdomen today and already over analysing it. 🙈

Hiya

I'm 4 dpo, this is the first one time I've ever used ovulation tests as I have never really know when I was ovulating and it was really quite late into the cycle and as I was aware I even felt the ovulation twinges I've heard so many people talk about!

We haven't been using contraception for a year son e our ds turned 6 months but now he is 18m we are actively trying!

So first real tww wait for me but I've have spent many months wondering.

@googledidnthelp this is my first time properly using them too. I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not 😂 but we are a day apart. It was weird, because I had a migraine and nausea on Sunday, which was my predicted ovulation day, and it’s the first time I’ve noticed any ovulation symptoms. Even though I think they are probably always there.

@scandiontheloose I had a chemical last June. It was a real shock as we hadn’t been trying and it was the last thing on my mind, but my sister had just had a baby and it made us think. It sort of made us want to start trying but nothing since.

We did slow things down a bit at the end of last year as my DH got me a trip to New York this April as a birthday present, but we have started trying again now as it wouldn’t have an impact on the holiday if we were to conceive right now, and I have to admit I don’t think it’s ever going to happen. I’m trying not to be negative, but I just can’t help it.

how are you both feeling about things? Glad to have you with me on the two week wait that’s for sure 😊

scandiontheloose · 15/03/2023 21:16

@SophT27

The chemical one is a bit of a shock isn't it, but also not as recognised as a MC so we dealt with it in our way quite privately and now we think it's time we try and see where we get.

I'm a bit concerned that the wedding is less than 4 months away but also we were talking and if we just keep waiting and waiting until time is "right" it's not gonna happen.
I don't want to put off "trying" because we have a wedding and hopefully a honeymoon to look forward to. We might not even get pregnant this year and then we've wasted the whole year just waiting rather than figuring it all out...

I'm lucky I have wedding prep to still keep me busy but the TWW is most likely going to be me trying to stop myself peeing on a stick too soon and googling every single twinge I feel 😂😂🙈🙈

@scandiontheloose I know exactly what you mean, and 4 months is really not that far away is it. We had a bit of a funny end to last year, my Grandad was poorly and passed away and although we hadn’t stopped trying, it wasn’t as high on our list of priorities and I was a bit of an emotional wreck.

this is the first month since maybe November that we DTD around ovulation for definite and I was using OPK’s again.

we are not at a if it happens, it happens mindset. But I am starting to feel a bit disheartened when AF arrives every month and I think this TWW is going to be the biggest killer.

when do you think you will test?

GabbyGal · 15/03/2023 22:06

@SophT27 I’m going to try to hold off from testing until next Tuesday (11DPO). My luteal phase is on the shorter end of normal, usually 10 days, so my period is due on Tuesday. We have an appointment on Wednesday to get results of initial fertility testing so it would obviously be great to get a BFP before that!

DH and I are also going to NYC in April, we have a lot in common! 😅

Sorry to hear you had a chemical, and you @scandiontheloose, hopefully a once off for you both. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, such an exciting time!

@SophT27

Awh, yeah that would defo shift the priorities.

Hope this is your month ❤️

Do you track your cycles/ovulation any other way than OPKs?
I use the Flo app to try and track my cycles and note down my BBT etc.

My period is due in 8 days so think I'll wait until I'm a day or two late before testing.
Key word being "try" 🙈

When are you thinking of testing?

@GabbyGal

Got my fingers crossed for your BFP ❤️

Aww thanks, we're the last couple in the friends and family group to get married so I'm so excited it's finally my turn 🤍

Hopefully the chemical is a one off but also our doctor said sometimes it's also a good sign that the body is ready and capable of pregnancy even if this one didn't work but if you want to look on the positive, it means that we might be able to conceive soon☺️
So I'm clinging to that hope ✨

SophT27 · 16/03/2023 06:31

@GabbyGal how weird that we are both going to NYC in the same month. Hopefully this will be both of our month for a BFP followed by a lovely trip away.

AF is due next Thursday or Friday for me according to Flo, but I also think that I ovulated later (according to OPK’s), so a weeks time roughly - it may be more like Saturday / Sunday. I’m going to try and wait until then to test, but again I think the optimum word is try. There would be no point testing until at least Monday anyway and even that would be really early.

Oh I really hope you get your BFP before your appointment, or at least some good news at your appointment. I’ll keep everything crossed for you.

@scandiontheloose I have been using the Flo app to track my cycles for about 12 months. But I don’t have a really “regular cycle”. It’s in the normal range but can be anywhere from 21-28 days (usually falling around 25-26). So although it’s a good indicator I’m not sure it’s that accurate for my ovulation prediction.

for the past couple of months I’ve also been using the apple health app, it gives more things to log - including OPK results and BBT. I think if this isn’t my month, I might start thinking about doing temps too. But it’s hard to remember because you are supposed to do it before getting out of bed in the morning aren’t you?

as for testing - anything before Monday would be way too early (and to be honest Monday would also be too early). Like you, I’m going to try and wait until the end of next week, but right now that feels like such a long way off.

@scandiontheloose We were the last of our friends to get married too, 1.5 yrs ago, and covid held us up for over a year! It was all worth it in the end though, we had the best day and you will too. Enjoy the lead up, it goes so fast!

You’re right, it is a good sign that you conceived so fingers crossed! We’re TTC #2, we have a 3.5 year old and got pregnant straight away last time so didn’t expect to still be TTC after 9 months, but then I am 38 now and DH is 43. Hence we’re doing fertility testing just in case.

@SophT27 You can track OPKs on Flo too. In the app when you click in to add symptoms, if you scroll down you can add additional parameters incl. OPKs and pregnancy tests.

@SophT27

The flo is quite good and since I have PCOS my cycles are not within the normal range but I like the fact I can track everything.

You can add your OPKs and BBT in there too if you want to keep everything in one place ☺️

Yeah BBT is first thing before anything else and I do sometimes forget and if I have a late morning on weekends I take the temp a wee bit later than on weekdays too. But still I think it helps to build an idea of when I ovulate.

I am trying so hard not to test early so if we both agree to hold off until start of period or even when we might be late I think I might be able to keep from buying a multipack of clear blues 😂😂

@GabbyGal
I have been quite organised with the wedding prep so I hope to just enjoy the build up to the day ✨
Hope the tests come back ok❤️
We did some too late last year to make sure all is ok before we started trying.
My PCOS was triggered by being on the implant for 5+ years and when I got it out I didn't have a period for like 9 months and slowly we've managed to get back on track.

Hey everyone! 🤍

I’m 2DPO on our 3rd cycle trying for our 1st! Completely agree I think the more you start trying things to increase your chances the more agonising the TWW is! Last month and this month we’ve been using OPKs and this month tried the Fertlily cup, anyone else tried this?

Baby dust to you all! 😇

I'm 4dpo today after ovulating on CD31 🙄 I caught Strep A a few weeks ago and it threw everything off. We've likely missed the window as, if O was the day I think it was, we only managed O-2 and O-4 so I have next to no chance this cycle which is so annoying as I was waiting for O for so long!

@GabbyGal well, you have just taught me something 😂 I did really like Flo, but it was bugging me you couldn’t log those things, so thank you.

@scandiontheloose I worry about it waking my DH as I often get up at stupid hours to go to the gym. My thermometer makes one hell of a noise.

as long as you don’t let anything stress you out on your wedding day, you will enjoy every minute ♥️ there is always something that doesn’t go right, but it’s still perfect.

as for testing. I promise to hold off for as long as you do. I’m don’t feel so positive about things today, I don’t know why.

how are you both feeling today?

welcome to the tww @kalixxx and @TheBirdintheCave 😊

@TheBirdintheCave snap - I’m also 4DPO. How are you feeling?

@SophT27 Just normal build up to AF symptoms really. My boobs are getting sore and I've been dizzy and tired for the last few days. How are you?

I'm so happy it's not raining today :D I won't have to hurry my toddler on the walk home 😂

@TheBirdintheCave its so frustrating that the symptoms could be the same isn’t it.

when is your AF due?

i’ve been tired for the past few days, like exhausted, but I’ve also had a really stressful couple of weeks at work so it is probably just that.

Hey - I’m 8dpo and 7 cycles in! Nice to have some company, I’m going to test on Saturday and then Monday if I haven’t started spotting! Which I am totally expecting. How are you all coping with symp spotting??

@TheBirdintheCave I’ve just updated my Flo app with my positive OPK result (thanks @GabbyGal) and it has changed my AF date to the 27th March. So we are very similar timings wise.

it feels like longer to wait though 😑

@NarnieJoy welcome 😊 I’m trying not to symptom spot yet, it’s still a bit too early, but it is hard. It’s going to the longest 2 weeks now I think.

Am 9DPO (I think) - cycle got a bit messed up last month. Waiting until the weekend to test - preferably Saturday. Been feeling nauseous the last couple of days but that's not massively uncommon for me thanks to IBS.

@NarnieJoy

Welcome to the TWW club 😂

I try not to be too obsessive about it but also then note down in Flo all the symptoms 🙈

I've bought a new pack of OPKs for next month if this cycle is not the lucky one for us so in that sense I'm trying to be prepared if the test is negative.

@SophT27 yeah it’s hard not to symptom spot, up until today I’ve felt nothing… but the last hour I’ve had like waves of cramps really low down. Not normal for me at all. But I keep saying it’s probably wind 💨😂

@scandiontheloose i did about 3-4 opks a day when it was quite dark and basically could tell you when my surge was by the minute!
