7/8DPO Pains With a Cold

Hi everyone,

I am 7-8DPO today and I've had 2 colds since the end of November. Second one supposedly started the day after I was supposed to ovulate, now I'm not sure if its thrown everything off.

I've been coughing quite badly because of this and I have been getting strange pressure/light cramps in the pubic area. Is this caused by the coughing? I usually only notice it on my ribcage with a bad cough so I'm not sure if I just pulled a muscle, what do you all think please?

My partner has been ill both times as well before me, no idea where he's picking it up from! Never been ill twice so close together before. Thank you.

im experiencing similar right now, been ill since last week and bad cough sore throat..im so ill i have not noticed any cramping, which i usually hqve by now due to pms at 8dpo...i threw up this morning due to the illness and been on so many meds, plus we only dtd one day in the ov window so not sure if this is my month but will try and remain positive. How are you feeling today?

I think I'm either 6 or 7DPO now and I started with the worst migraine yesterday and sore throat..woke up this morning still with a fuzzy head. My throat feels better but still sore, just feel tired and muscles are aching in general.

@anon1411 its that time of the year aint it with all these winter bugs going around on top of everything else. I am working from home today luckily, but can barely talk. I still have not noticed any symptoms not even for pms, af due next mon/tues. I had an increase of white milky discharge yesterday only and this has subsided. This usually means af is pending for me but will still be hopeful til af shows. I will not be testing unless af is a few days late.

Thank you for your replies.

Still similar today really, been sleeping terribly due to coughing fits; I was awake from 2:30-5am this morning alone from coughing up (tmi sorry) green phlegm.

Although today at 10dpo, I have noticed wet discharge and my cervix is soft and closed. Not sure if a good sign?! Also slightly worried that I haven't ovulated due to the illnesses unfortunately, as I haven't noticed any other symptoms.

How are you all feeling now?

I don't think I'm getting the pain anymore, but due to the painful throat the cough has caused I've been on painkillers for days. I haven't seen any spotting which appears common in pregnancy. Supposed to be 4 days until AF. I have also noticed I have been very forgetful over the last few days as well, but not sure if due to lack of sleep.

I'm shocked I haven't lost my voice as I usually do with coughs.

@CloudyVenus thanks, hope you get better soon and all the best for a bfp. I have no symptoms really and felt a bit of cramping earlier, tomorrow will be 9dpo. I was also taking a lot of meds not sure how this may impact on trying to conceive on top of being unwell. I think i ovulated juat after christmas and only dtd on boxing day then i became unwell a few days after.

@carsty Aww, bless you. I was thinking the same thing.

Supposedly, I was supposed to ovulate on Christmas day, which we DTD on and on the 22nd of December.

Going to hold out until a day after AF, especially as I'm not sure I actually ovulated. My cycles have been irregular a lot in the past so I wouldn't be surprised. Fed up of wasting tests for basically no reason. 😂

I became unwell again on the 29th of December I believe, so just after boxing day, funnily enough I think exactly 4 weeks after my last illness.

Another rough nights sleep, still no obvious symptoms yet either, hope I didn't miss ovulation 😪 had this severe cough for about 6 days now.

@CloudyVenus I too had a rough night and barely slept, thankful im working from home today. I still feel rough, coughing and throat hoarse but lil bit better than yesterday so some improvement is better than nothing.

@CloudyVenus Also, im cramping a bit more today, af due in 5days. Ive decided not to test unless a few days late. last month af was 2 days late and i tested and was bfn, i got my period soon after that😅

@carsty That's good to hear. Mine is due in about 3 days time. I was going to wait until then but now im tempted to wait longer due to the illness potentially messing things up.

I also almost choked to death on a throat stepsil last night and my FH had to knock it out of me when he was sleeping as I had woken up from a coughing fit trying to sooth it and I went to cough and accidentally inhaled it down my throat, the poor guy was so worried and now I definitely owe him one 😂 he didn't sleep for ages afterwards either and he is a light sleeper so he could sense I wasn't breathing, god knows what would of happened if he hadn't of helped as I had never got something stuck in my throat prior to this 😳

@CloudyVenus oh bless you and your oh i can only imagine the scare...for some reason i think mine wpuld have either ignored me or gone in another room for disturbing his sleep until he noticed i was near death...all week ive been coughing through the night and he was getting annoyed im like have some sympathy please since im unwell😅...atleast he got me some meds today as i ran out🤗

Off topic, I have noticed sore nipples this evening, but it isn't unusual for me before AF unfortunately so I'm not holding on to hope, especially as it is supposed to be here soon. I did have a hectic afternoon at work though so not sure if that contributed to it 😅

How are you both today? Finally feeling some improvement, my cough is feeling a lot better but my throat and my throat glands are still up for some reason 😕 AF due tomorrow so will see, not had any acne so far this month prior to AF either.

@CloudyVenus hi there glad your feeling better albeit slightly, its also the same for me my throat is not sore anymore but stuffy and still hoarse but thank God its getting better, coughs have also reduced. I tried to stay in as much as possible this week, but just went out to do the main shop and started coughing a bit. Hopefully Af stays away and you get your bfp. I have not been feeling much cramps except for yesterday but that may be because im taking meds with pain relief. My af is due mon or tues and i have no symptoms. Do you have any?

I’m the same!
had the flu the week before Christmas and only started feeling better near end of the year. Then this week I’ve got another cold!! So bunged up and been coughing too.
I’ve had mild cramping near pelvis too and backache. Feeling very weird this month! AF due Monday but I ovulated 2 days later than normal so guessing up to Wednesday.

That's good to hear! Other than @Mrsrobinsonx thats not good 😪 @carsty I had some weird butterfly feeling in my stomach for about half an hour this morning, it made me feel a bit queezy! No idea what caused it, other than that I'm still feeling basically the same on the lead up to AF (sore nips) so I'm not holding on to hope. I also have a lack of acne this time around but not sure how significant that is.

@CloudyVenus There is still a chance until af arrives Godwilling and finger crossed...have you been ttc for long?

@Mrsrobinsonx sorry u not feeling well so many bugs going around like wild fire, almost ally my family members were sick over christmas and work colleagues...if any of us get bfp then maybe the illness is a symptom...all the best for us all so long as this is what were all hoping for🤗🤗🤗

@carsty only since about July, but it took until September to get my first cycle from being off the pill. What about yourself?

@CloudyVenus well oh and i havent been prevening it for almost a year and a half, though we are not actively trying as i know he is laid back and would not want to be told when to dtd...we both want kids and are in our early 30s with no kids of our own yet but i was hoping to have a bfp by now and even had a few checks done to see if i have any fertility issues...i thought i may have pcos due to some symptoms despite regular periods...if nothing in the next few months i will try and persuade him for us to both get checked and see a way forward.

I finally slept better last night, although my jaw/neck still hurts from my enlarged glands even though I feel better other than the little cough 😪 how are you both today?

So far AF has stayed away today, thinking I may of not of even ovulated when I should have 😰

@CloudyVenus Still not feeling great but it’s mostly the blocked nose. I’m so tired though, I slept from about 9.30-8.30 😅
hard to tell if it’s from this cold or not though!
I think we should expect AF around the same time this month. X
