Well here we are again, day 1 of new cycle. It’s been over a year now (I’d ducked out of these threads for ages). Finally going to start with some private investigations. But not for a few weeks.

Anyone got any fun ideas for this month?

@WineCap congrats!! So happy for you :)
@Maxime34 According to ovulation stick I'm ovulating today so not too far off your dates. Fingers crossed this is the month πŸ™‚

Natty83 · 19/01/2023 08:48

Congratulations @WineCap that's a great line πŸ₯³πŸ’

TunnocksTCake · 19/01/2023 09:34

@MilkyAndFluffy You can ovulate anywhere from 12 - 36 hours after a peak on an OPK so 3 days is within range. Could be anything though, I always feel twinges in tww when TTC because Im just looking otut for ANY sign even when I know its too early!

Have you guys got much to keep you busy over the next week or so? Luckily we have a v busy weekend and an active toddler so I dont have too much time to think about it!

TunnocksTCake · 19/01/2023 09:36

Oh wow missed your post @winecap - thats a great line! πŸ˜€

BambiBooBoo · 19/01/2023 11:36

I'm guessing I'm around 5dpo today.

Just spent a while with my head in the toilet throwing up. I ONLY throw up when I'm pregnant (I get HG) πŸ€”

Took a test (I know it's too early) 1BFN and 1 evap line (but I swear I can see a bit of pink in it)

Oh yeah I can see the line - Fingers crossed it develops over the next few days!
Do you use OPKs or anything to track Ovulation?

BambiBooBoo · 19/01/2023 12:06

@TunnocksTCake I don't know if it's just a evap as the other test is a bfn.
No I don't use opks
Going off if symptoms comparing to others who do use them. I think I ovulated Saturday

jessie92 · 19/01/2023 12:15

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I join :) Have been ttc since late May last year and no luck yet πŸ’Was on here a while ago but took a break from the forums! Starting to think about whether there are any tests that I should have done. Was diagnosed with pcos in the past, and hubby has been checked and everything looking normal for him. Really hoping for a bfp this year! Currently on day 4 of my cycle so not sure where you ladies are at but keeping fingers crossed for you too! πŸ€

Natty83 · 19/01/2023 13:25

Will anyone else be testing this weekend? I will be 11dpo on Sat and likely too impatient to wait any longer...

Countingchicks · 19/01/2023 14:40

5dpo here too. No point testing until 10dpo as that's when I got the faintest notch on test with dd

Does anyone have advice on alcohol / not drinking in the TWW? I’m due to ovulate around 28 Jan, and have a hen party the following weekend.

Itll be far too early to test and ideally I want to not drink at alll. However, it’s going to be so tricky, I don’t drive, we’ve got wine pre ordered for dinner, then a cocktail thing where get get given 4 cocktails each so it’s going to be really tricky to just pretend to drink and ditch them.

I also can’t use antibiotics as we’ve always joked how it’s the most obvious code in the world.

I could feign illness and not go but that seems ridiculous. Any tips / ideas welcome! Or am I overthinking it and having a couple is ok?

Jonesy88 · 19/01/2023 19:48

@Mushroo if you were pregnant, that early on there wouldn’t yet be a connection if that makes sense - the egg is still embedding. So imo there isn’t a risk that way.
However alcohol does impact fertility in general so I do get your point- it’s up to you whether the guilt of drinking would outweigh the fun of it. Dry January bet maybe?

Mushroo · 20/01/2023 09:18

@Jonesy88 thank you. It’s only our first month TTC so I’ll be ok if it doesn’t happen, it’s more that I think Id feel loads of guilt if it did happen! I know logically not a lot of impact, but I’m a worrier.

It’s so so tricky. Can’t even do dry Jan as sadly
itll be feb!

Might feign a new tooth filling and say I can’t have cold drinks as it hurts and nurse one glass of red wine….

Maxime34 · 20/01/2023 22:52

How are you feeling @BambiBooBoo ? Hope you're ok! This tww seems to really be dragging it's heels this month. I think I didn't notice it so much over Xmas as it's such a fun time of year but January is just long long long.

BambiBooBoo · 21/01/2023 00:18

@Maxime34 - I can't place how I'm feeling exactly. Which is strange. Last month I was feeling desperate and deflated at not feeling any symptoms even tho I was symptom spotting badly.
This month, I'm feeling oddly calm, chill and quite happy. Which is strange for me as I'm a extremely bad overthinker/worrier. No symptoms yet tho...

But it really is feeling dragged out.
How are you feeling?

What are we on now?- 48th January??πŸ˜‚

Maxime34 · 21/01/2023 08:32

I'm glad you're feeling good @BambiBooBoo I'm ok too, I think it's way too early for me to even have any symptoms so anything would be purely coincidental I think plus I take extra progesterone because of past losses so it really plays tricks on me! ah January is so long though...It's been 84 years.....

Hummusanddipdip · 21/01/2023 13:14

I'm out 😭 AF arrived this morning.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 21/01/2023 13:37

I’m late joining. This will be our first cycle ttc no. 2. It took us 3-4 cycles last time so hopefully will be similar but you never know.

SidSparrow · 21/01/2023 14:06

Do you mind if I join? I think I might be pregnant, although it seems early for symptoms. I reckon I ovulated about 10 or 11 days ago. Symptoms started yesterday. Felt sick in the morning, head felt fuzzy, and I felt tired. Today I can feel my boobs a bit sore. TTC no.3, miscarried last November at 8 weeks. I've not tested yet, and going to try and put off testing for as long as I can. With having a miscarriage recently and my being 41 I'm reluctant to get too excited, can only hope everything works out!

AlbaGracie · 21/01/2023 18:48

Hi guys, jumping on this band wagon.
I'm 32 and TTC our first. Cycle 1. Currently CD16 but all my OPKs are consistently negative. Faint lines for the past 6 days and not getting darker πŸ™ˆ
Came off microgynon after 12 years first week in Jan. I didn't realise it can take months to ovulate/get periods again after stopping. Wish I'd stopped sooner but what's done is done!
Hoping for a positive OPK soon 🀞and seeing all your BFPs to come ☺️

Mrsrobinsonx · 21/01/2023 22:30

@Hummusanddipdip sorry to hear af arrived! How are you feeling? Have you been trying long? Hugs.

@SidSparrow sounds promising! Keep us updated with your tests! 🀞🏻

@AlbaGracie I ovulated about 4 weeks after I stopped my pill (mini pill) didn’t even have a bleed or anything before.
good luck x

Hummusanddipdip · 22/01/2023 02:50

Thanks @Mrsrobinsonx this was cycle 26, been trying for number 2 since November 2020. I had a full on sob earlier as this was in reality my last chance for baby to be born close enough to ds starting school for me to be on mat leave and do his school runs from September. It's the first month where I've actually been heartbroken over it.

I know it takes time, it took 3 years, several cms and 2 miscarriages to get ds. But every test they've done has come back normal and satisfactory, there's no reason for me to not be getting pregnant, I just don't seem to fall easy.

Jonesy88 · 22/01/2023 04:43

@Hummusanddipdip sorry to hear you are struggling. Hugs. It took us years for DS and I feel those fears creeping in for ttc #2

LittleMiss2023 · 22/01/2023 07:56

Hi all - mind if I jump in?

Im 31, and DH have decided to try for #1. Still learning all the lingo and acronyms and have spent days trawling these pages - so helpful!

I stopped the pill on 6 Jan and have been using ClearBlue ovulation readers - this morning we got our first flashing smiley. Tested again in the arvo and still flashing. Will be interesting to see how many days of flashing we get as I have seen on here sometimes people get flashing smileys for days!

Excited to be on the journey and hopefully can help each other through! 😊
