Well here we are again, day 1 of new cycle. It’s been over a year now (I’d ducked out of these threads for ages). Finally going to start with some private investigations. But not for a few weeks.

Anyone got any fun ideas for this month?

@JD90 so far so good 🀞. No pain yesterday, this morning an occasional twinge but only very briefly, and that seems heavily associated with wind 😳. If it comes back I'll call GP or go to the hospital but at the moment I'd rather wait and see because it's too early to show anything on a scan.

elarcoiris · 16/02/2023 12:47

@JD90 Thanks for checking in! I haven’t managed to get hold of a test so just decided if AF hasn’t arrived by the time I’m home, I’ll do one then (have a FRER waiting for me!) At least the line should be pretty decisive by Monday AM as will be 17dpo!

elarcoiris · 17/02/2023 13:10

Ended up coming straight home after our holiday rather than going to my mum’s for the weekend as my husband was ill and didn’t want to pass it on, which mean I managed to do this a couple of days earlier than expected…

13dpo and not with FMU so I’ll take that line! Trying not to get too excited after two consecutive miscarriages at the end of last year, but holding out the teeniest bit of hope for this one and will 100% be booking an early scan.

Congrats to those who’ve had their BFPs - hopefully see you over on the October board! Keeping fingers crossed for those still waiting and sending lots of love to those who are out for this month xxx

@elarcoiris that's amazing news, and tentative congratulations to you! My amazing gp got in contact pretty much bang on 8am when she started work as I'd left a message for her that I'd had a positive test (previously agreed plan in place) and she contacted epau and I've got a scan booked in for 27th. I'm still struggling to feel any kind of positivity about it at this point but I'm sure it will settle in time. Loss overshadows everything doesn't it! I feel I should be able to accept it and just continue day to day but it just isn't happening.

elarcoiris · 17/02/2023 15:44

@JD90 Thanks! I’ve already booked a private scan for 6 weeks… Last time I had a scan at 8.5 weeks (just before Christmas so we could tell family) and they diagnosed me with β€œpregnancy of unknown location” - don’t think I can face waiting that long to find out it hasn’t worked again so just want a scan as soon as they will do it!

Totally understand the feeling of loss overshadowing everything - my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at around 10 weeks so feel like I’ve never really got that experience of just assuming all will be well, which is a shame.

JD90 · 17/02/2023 16:10

@elarcoiris will maternity where you are not scan you from 6 due to your history of PUL? I was hoping my gp would do a couple of blood tests over the next week if I'm honest but I'm just gonna trust the process... and no doubt keep testing lots 🀣 got a faint positive on a 'standard' pregnancy test this morning so that was reassuring. Weirdly the 10 and 25miu had identical darkness/colour in the test lines from the same FMU sample πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Hummusanddipdip · 17/02/2023 19:24

I'm out (again)
Congratulations to everyone who has had their bfp, those that haven't, see you on the November boards! Baby dust to you all!!!!

VictoriaBlossom · 17/02/2023 22:44

@elarcoiris well, you definitely knew didn't you! Hope you had a good holiday!

Natty83 · 18/02/2023 09:43

Sorry @Hummusanddipdip and see you on the November board ❀️ I hope this is your cycle x

ukMummyof1 · 18/02/2023 09:53

Hey! So a little back story... I was invited out with some friends a few weeks ago and wasn't sure whether to go as if I went and then later found out I was pregnant I would really regret going but also if I didn't go and I wasnt actually pregnant then be missing out for not really any reason besides the fact of ttc. Anyway... I Decided after all to go out last night after debating it and had a negative test yesterday morning and last night before I went.
This morning at 11dpo I think I have a vf line😁
Can anyone see it? Just really worrying now because I had a few drinks last night thinking this wasn't my month as this is a lot later getting a positive than my last pregnancy.

My last pregnancy was ectopic and I had the surgery to remove my tube, what do I do now? Should I be contacting the hospital for an early scan?? Xx

@ukMummyof1 I definitely see it! Tentative congrats!

JD90 · 18/02/2023 12:19

@ukMummyof1 yes contact your gp and let them know and either they will contact epau on your behalf or tell you to contact them. You should hopefully be scanned around 6 weeks to confirm placement.

Hankthehonk · 18/02/2023 13:14

@ukMummyof1

Hankthehonk · 18/02/2023 13:15

@ukMummyof1 Oops finger slipped there. Congratulations!
I dont think you need to worry too much about having a few drinks, lots of people drink when they don't realise yet they're pregnant. I hate thinking how much I had before realising I was pregnant with my first 🀐

TunnocksTCake · 18/02/2023 20:49

Congrats @ukMummyof1 πŸŽ‰πŸ’• I remember you posting your predicament! As others have said I really wouldn't worry about the few drinks you had, it was an isolated occasion and very early. Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy 😊

Twoinapod · 18/02/2023 23:54

@ukMummyof1 dont worry about drinking, I’ve found out with all 3 of mine the morning after a night out πŸ™ˆ it’s too early to cause any problems.

many maternity units are now self referral so if you can find their number it might be worth a call to see how they process you as you’ve had an ectopic previously.

congratulations

ukMummyof1 · 19/02/2023 07:57

Thank you so much everyone! I'll call the EPAU in the week and hopefully I'll get a scan... going to test again tomorrow morning to see if my line is any darker. Also, thank you for the reassurance about the night outπŸ™ˆxxx

JD90 · 20/02/2023 07:35

Looks like I'm going to be moving into the November ttc thread with you lovely lot. Unfortunately started spotting yesterday, was advised to get some bloods done and to have my scan moved to today in case it's another ectopic but started bleeding heavily overnight so looks like it was a chemical πŸ˜ͺ going to ring up epau this morning and tell them and if my bloods were low i expect they will probably cancel the scan, which makes sense. Such a shitty feeling but even from the first positive I had a bad feeling about things.

ukMummyof1 · 20/02/2023 07:50

So after I got my positive on Saturday I waited 48 hours to test again and have just tested and I don't think it's got any darker, could I be having a chemical?? πŸ˜₯

Hankthehonk · 20/02/2023 07:52

@ukMummyof1 What dpo are you? This does look a little darker to me. You should use Frers if you can as they are much more sensitive. Hope you are not feeling too anxious, I totally empathise I've been testing daily for ten days now!

Hankthehonk · 20/02/2023 07:52

@JD90 So sorry you are going through this :(

ukMummyof1 · 20/02/2023 07:57

@Hankthehonk 11dpo in the top and one 13dpo in the second (that's if my dates are right). Never had a chemical before but so worried!

Hankthehonk · 20/02/2023 08:22

@ukMummyof1 I understand, it's a really stressful time. I'd definitely suggest you get a more sensitive test, these cheapie ones aren't great - if you get a 2 pack of FRERs and do one tomorrow then another 48 hours later hopefully you'll see progression with clearer lines

TunnocksTCake · 20/02/2023 11:11

@JD90 oh so sorry to hear this :( Hope you at least get an answer either way and make sure you report it to your DR just so they have it on file - I failed to do this with one of mine then when I came to them saying I had had 3 they basically didnt believe me!

@ukMummyof1 you are still v early days and pre af so its not unusual for such a light line, but as pp said I would get some FRERS for a better line, fingers crossed for you!

Mrsrobinsonx · 20/02/2023 13:48

Sorry to hear some of you are going through this, I had my second chemical this month too and doctors can’t do anything unless I have 1 more πŸ™„
hopefully we all get healthy babies soon 🀞🏻
