Anyone else on here in the same situation? Would be nice to chat to others who understand.

@Quokka7 I agree - I wish I could just see inside me to know what's going on 😆. I'm not spotting now, but it was pretty much for 3 days, I think. Oh well. It might just have been my body clearing some more bits out?

@pebbles3004, I'm sorry you're going through this and I know what you mean about being in limbo. Hopefully a few more weeks will sort it out. I've had some tissue come out in my 2 AF's since my tfmr and was told by the fetal medicine people that it was normal and not to worry about it unless I bleed a lot (when not on AF) or have a lot of pain. Fingers crossed you get sorted soon x

Oh that's good to know, thank you. X

whippeywhippet · 31/01/2023 20:31

A little good news update from me, had my scan today to see where my lining is at and all is as it should be. I'm so relieved after such a horrible time. I hope everyone else are doing ok. @pebbles3004 how are you doing? X

pebbles3004 · 31/01/2023 20:55

@whippeywhippet no change here unfortunately.

My community midwife never got back to me and I rang her phone and its turned off, so I assume she's off work. I called MAU who said they didn't really know, try the midwives. So I rang the general midwives number and they said they didn't know, ring MAU 🤯

So I tried to get through to my GP today with no luck, will try again tomorrow. I'm back up to using a pad now... I'm not filling it but a panty liner was no longer enough. So I think I'm going to push the GP to refer me for a scan, I am starting to get pretty fed up and just want to understand what's going on!

Really glad you got good news today though, onwards and upwards for you! 🥰 x

Downtherabbithole83 · 31/01/2023 20:55

That’s great news @whippeywhippet . Really happy for you that things are looking good xx

That's good news @whippeywhippet!

@pebbles3004 have you tried calling the fetal medicine team or whoever organised your tfmr? When the tissue came out in my last AF I called them (as I wasn't sure who else I should call) and they spoke to EPU to see what to do (which ended up being nothing). But the fetal medicine midwife I spoke to said I should continue to call them with any issues as they knew my history etc, and if they weren't sure of something they'd liaise with other teams in the hospital on my behalf.

pebbles3004 · 31/01/2023 21:11

@Hidingawaytoday that's a really good idea actually - thank you for the tip! I might actually try them before the GP tomorrow morning, as I have more chance of getting through to them rather than the GP...

Thanks again!

No problem 😊. Hope you can get an answer tomorrow.

Ok, so I know I said I wasn't comparing/symptom spotting, but I'm about 7/8 dpo according to my app and I'm feeling uncomfortable down below (sort of a uti feeling but no urge to pee or burning when I do pee). I know it's probably a uti, but I'm sure the last time I felt this was when I was pregnant with our loss 🤔

Lunamoon2022 · 01/02/2023 09:59

Morning All,
Hoping to join if I can - usually just linger reading posts but this one seems to suit my situation!
My little girl was born November 13th at 21.5 weeks, with a diagnosis of T13, Patau's.
This is our second month TTC, and currently 1DPO which is probably why I find myself here now, starting the dreaded TWW and needing the distraction

HoneyPea · 01/02/2023 12:12

Sorry I've been MIA I've been keeping to myself and avoiding people in real life and sites until we had our first scan. Had our scan yesterday and saw a little blob with a heartbeat which I couldn't believe. Feeling even more nervous now as we have been booked in for a NIPT in 2weeks. I'm really not looking forward to the wait for those results and think it will just bring back memories. She had arranged for it to happen in the family rooms (the ones which are supposed to be cosy and homely but all I see are the blue sofas of bad news!) but I've asked to have it somewhere else, I just don't think I can go back to those rooms.

@whippeywhippet That's really good news 😊
@pebbles3004I Hope you have better luck trying to sort a scan out today.

@Hidingawaytoday Please keep an eye out incase it is a UTI, I have had several after TFMR birth in Feb and have ended up in hospital on 2 occasions. They seemed to be way worse than before and escalated extremely quickly. Although I'm hoping it's because you are pregnant.
@Lunamoon2022 Sorry to hear about your little girl.

Hidingawaytoday · 01/02/2023 15:38

That's lovely news @HoneyPea, hopefully the NIPT will put your mind at rest.

And yes, I've put an econsult in with my gp to see what they say 🙂.

Hidingawaytoday · 01/02/2023 15:40

Hi @Lunamoon2022, sorry to hear of your loss. A distraction is definitely needed!

@Lunamoon2022 Sorry to hear about your little girl.

I wondered how you got on after your positive test. I hope the testing goes OK and the wait is manageable. I totally know what you mean about places evoking memories, it's almost unbearable sometimes. We had a private scan at the start of this week because my 12 week scan is next week, and we'll have to go to the same waiting room where we were left after we got bad news from the last 12 week scan, so I wanted a boost of confidence to help convince me this is a new and separate experience. I've also realised that if this pregnancy goes to plan, my due date is 3 days before the anniversary of the TFMR in the same hospital, which I hadn't thought about...

Hidingawaytoday · 31/01/2023 21:21

No problem 😊. Hope you can get an answer tomorrow.

Tried the screening team who booked me in for all my appts. Unfortunately they discharge you after 28 days so they couldn't help and told me its normal to bleed for up to 6 weeks, but if I was concerned go to my GP. So, I'll try the GP again tomorrow... just a shame its so blooming difficult to get through to them.

What I'm wondering though is this 6 weeks number. From reading a LOT of forums, blogs, insta posts etc, I don't think I've come across anyone who has bled for 6 weeks, unless they have some sort of retained product. Unless anyone on here can prove me wrong and put my mind at ease - has anyone on here bled for more than 4 weeks and not had any further issues?

EMcG3 · 01/02/2023 17:29

@Lunamoon2022 - I am also starting the TWW, today, in fact. I'm on cycle ~3.

@pebbles3004 - I was definitely on the fast recovery side, but only bled for a week or so.

Hidingawaytoday · 01/02/2023 17:44

@pebbles3004 oh, that's rubbish - hopefully, your gp will pick up and refer you to someone. I genuinely can't remember how long I bled for (which is silly as it was only a 2 1/2 months ago) but it felt like ages. Definitely don't think it was 6 weeks though, my sister got married a month after my tfmr and don't think I was still bleeding at that, and 100% sure I wasn't at Xmas which was about 6/7 weeks later. Sorry that is not at all helpful to you.

Keep on at your gp though.

whippeywhippet · 01/02/2023 17:45

@pebbles3004 I thought I'd mention that when I went to the EPU for my scan due to the prolonged bleeding and cramping, the midwife said that I would need surgery to which I broke down in tears. She then said she would get the consultant and I'm so glad she did and he was so chilled out about the whole thing. I said I wanted to wait and he said that was absolutely fine. Afterwards I said to my husband how crazy it seemed that it was straight to surgery, it was me that suggested waiting, but then he made a valid point. I went to them with the issue of the pain and the only way they could solve it (for me) was surgery. I think if I'd have said that the pain was bad but manageable on the strong painkillers and it was more me worrying about what it all meant and how long it had been going on for, they may have advised me otherwise.

I guess I'm hoping this might make you feel better and that it is your body just doing what it needs to do. Obviously still push to get it checked, your GP should refer you, although if you don't have any pain or signs of infection it might be enough for him to just reassure you. Altogether (by the 2 days where it eased off completely) I bled for just under 6 weeks. x

pebbles3004 · 01/02/2023 19:19

@whippeywhippet thank you that does help.

I'm genuinely not a worrier, and I'm known to underplay things and my husband always tells me off - so I am trying to make a conscious effort to get checked out and raise a concern, when I would tell others to do if they were in my situ. So if I am just taking longer than average to stop bleeding, then that's absolutely fine - but I also don't like feeling I'm just being fobbed off by everyone I speak to, the one time I do try and prioritise myself!

Absolutely I completely agree. We've all been through enough, we want to make sure we are healing ok too. As this was my first pregnancy I've really struggled with what is normal or not, as soon as the consultant was so chilled about it by pain actually stopped, I think there's something to say for the reassurance from the people that know x

So… erm… this happened today.

Very faint but definitely there!

@Downtherabbithole83 wahooo! That's definitely a line!! Congrats 🥰

Downtherabbithole83 · 02/02/2023 20:31

Thanks @Hidingawaytoday - only 10dpo and didn’t test this early with previous pregnancies so full of worry about it not progressing but figure that as one of my worries was us not managing to conceive again because of age, this is a positive sign even if it isn’t a sticky one!

@Downtherabbithole83 Congratulations! I have my fingers crossed for you that this is a healthy sticky bean 🤞
