Anyone else on here in the same situation? Would be nice to chat to others who understand.

@ArrrMeHearties thank you so much. I’m so sorry for the loss of your son. Thank you for giving me hope. I send my love to you and wish you all the joy in the world with your rainbow baby xx

whippeywhippet · 22/01/2023 16:15

Hi all, how is everyone doing? X

Downtherabbithole83 · 22/01/2023 16:22

Not too bad here - finally got high LH levels today and yesterday 4 or 5 days later than expected/predicted by my app. So pleased to see that second line go nice and dark - was starting to feel a bit worried.

Feeling grumpy though as don’t seem to
be able to get rid of my UTI and the back pain is driving me mad!

How are you @whippeywhippet?

Hi @whippeywhippet I'm ok. How are you doing?

I have no idea what's going on with me. I'm CD17 and normally have ovulated by now but I don't know if I have. I decided to try easy@home opks and havent had any positive ones and I've not had any ewcm this month either. I drink a lot of water so maybe I've missed the positive opk because its been too diluted. I'll definitely be spending on the clearblue ones if this month is unsuccessful (I imagine it will be...) as I found it stressful! I usually use cyclogest after ovulation so I'm not sure what to do now! I might wait til cd21 and then just give them a go?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ So confused!

@Downtherabbithole83 glad you got your positive opk! It's such a relief when you get it...I'm jealous! Have you got antibiotics for your uti?

whippeywhippet · 22/01/2023 16:43

@Downtherabbithole83 that is great about your high levels! What do you use to test? Not good to hear your struggling with a UTI though, that's rubbish.

I am ok thank you, on day 7 of my first period since the TFMR (or it could be my second period, not entirely sure but I think the last time was just a pause from bleeding post birth). My periods before only lasted 3/4 days so 7 days is very different for me. I have been noticing a fair few small clots though so I'm hoping this is good news for my follow up appointment in just over a week to scan to see how the lining is doing (fingers crossed my body is sorting itself!) and no operation is needed.

We are going to wait until April to TTC so that I am fully recovered and can have had 3 months of taking folic acid and vitamins. I'd love to try now but trying to be kind to myself too. Instead we've booked 2 exciting holidays between now and then but also feel a bit guilty for doing so as we are only able t go on them as our DD isn't here. Has anyone else felt a bit like that since? X

Downtherabbithole83 · 22/01/2023 17:01

@whippeywhippet I use the easy@home opks alongside the Premom app. I like that they’re cheap so I can happily use two (or even three) a day without worrying about cost.

I didn’t hear back from the doctor on Friday but have some antibiotics left over from Christmas (they gave me more than necessary because of it being Xmas) so I’ve taken those. They’ve stopped the urgency but the back pain is constant.

Holidays sound like a great idea and self-care is very necessary xxx

@Quokka7 I’ve attached a pic of my easy@home LH tests - I was expecting to get my peak on CD11 so as you can see I was quite a bit later. I don’t think having diluted urine would mean missing the peak, maybe levels just might not be as high but you’d still see an increase if that makes sense… I used my left over clearblue tests on a few days to check and they matched up (first smiley face on clearblue was yesterday). Keep testing - your surge could happen suddenly. I went from 0.25 to almost 0.8 in 12 hours. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Quokka7 · 22/01/2023 19:47

@Downtherabbithole83 Thanks lovely. I definitely feel like my cycles gone wonky. Ive used 20 out of the 25 opks I bought since cd9. We've still dtd every other day since day 10 though...may as well try! You got a great peak!

@whippeywhippet I felt like that with holidays. We booked just after our tfmr to visit friends. I felt sad when we booked it because I had really hoped to be able to surprise them and instead I was hiding what we went through from them. Saying that though, the break was what I needed and it was great to see new sights and think of something else! Hope you find the same xx

Hidingawaytoday · 24/01/2023 11:22

Hey all!

I know what you mean, @whippeywhippet. It's not a holiday, but I've got theatre tickets for this weekend - which would have happened anyway - but when we were booking, I thought I'd be 6 months pregnant 😔. We are looking at breaks in June though and wonder whether we book or not. I should probably check the rules about flying!

According to my app, I should be ovulating around now (I'm not using sticks or anything at the moment), so fingers crossed we get a sticky one this month. It's silly, when we conceived last time I wasn't too fussed about it happening quickly (it came as a bit of a shock seeing as dd took a year), but after the loss I'm desperate to be pregnant again. I feel like every month, I'm getting that little bit older..

Cmp990 · 24/01/2023 13:38

Afternoon all! Sorry I am a bit of a lurker on this chat but need some advice. (As previously said.. ) TFMR at 15 weeks in Dec 9th. Bled for around a week. Period returned on 13th Jan. It was pretty standard, no better or worse than usual, lasted 4 days which is usual..
So I thought great! I'm back to normal, I'll ovulate as normal on CD14..
I have one of those fancy clearblue ovulation tests.. Took one on Sunday (CD10) just out of interest and it was low fertility, not even a smiley face..
Anyway yesterday (Cd11) I noticed light pink spotting and was very confused why that could be happening.. I've taken another ovulation test this morning (CD12) and its flashing that I am now at my peak!?
Is it possible i could be low fertility on Sunday but peaking on Tuesday?? Am still spotting so is this maybe a sign of ovulation? Sorry if this isn't really something anyone can answer but I've never had spotting outside of my period before and wonder if it's linked to the TFMR or not?

EMcG3 · 24/01/2023 15:26

@Cmp990 - even though it may not feel like it (or it may feel like it?), 9 December is really, really recent in terms of cycles. It can take a little while for everything to go back to normal, and a little while might be more than one cycle. Fertility, spotting and timing were off for me for, say 2.5 months, which was frustrating in terms of TTC, but just because they take awhile to normalise doesn't mean they never will. I know that isn't a direct answer to your question - hopefully it is ovulation and you are successful!

Cmp990 · 24/01/2023 16:53

Thanks so much, any advice is good advice :)
Just wondering if it's possible to conceive if I'm spotting whilst ovulating and all that. The test is flashing away so I would assume it means I'm at my peak! Time will tell I guess

Quokka7 · 24/01/2023 21:50

@Cmp990 if it's the purple clearblue advanced opks, then it goes from blank to flashing to static smileys. It sounds like yours is on the high fertility (flashing) but not peak (static)...meanings its detected that your peak is coming. Some people get quite a few days of flashing smileys before static so just don't be alarmed if you do! But get dtd from now ☺️ It may take between 3-6 months for you cycle to return to normal too so try not to worry about spotting etc yet x

Cmp990 · 25/01/2023 07:06

Thanks for your help! 😊

Quokka7 · 28/01/2023 10:19

How is everyone getting on?

@Cmp990 did you carry on testing with the clearblue opks?

@Downtherabbithole83hope the tww is going fast for you! Do you plan on testing early or waiting to see if AF is late?

@Hidingawaytoday Hope you enjoy the theatre this weekend! Do you think you're in the tww now? My fingers are crossed for you 🤞. I know what you mean about being desperate to become pregnant again. I hate how much time has passed since we started trying.

After running out of easy@home opks I had quite a bit of ewcm and so I think my ovulation was late, around cd22! Does anyone else compare each cycle with the one they conceived? I ovulated cd12 and 14 the last two (albeit unsuccessful) pregnancies so I keep wondering if it's a good or bad thing that my ovulation is late! I know its not a thing but my brain cant switch off from the comparisons! 🤪

Cmp990 · 28/01/2023 10:26

@Quokka7 yes I did! So I've carried on (I think I got confused and thought flashing smiley was peak not high.. Even though it litterally explains it on the instructions..) BD on first day of flashing (Tuesday) but now I think that would have been too far back to now. anyway I've been testing daily since with flashing smileys daily and then yesterday I got a solid smiley first thing in the morning (was flashing the night before).
Didn't get to BD yesterday so am hoping we are still okay for today!
Today is the ovulation day my glow app predicted and it was bang on before so am hoping 🤞

I also compare alot, I know I will going forward as well and especially in the TWW! It's only natural too I think!

Hidingawaytoday · 28/01/2023 11:12

@Quokka7 I think so, I'm not doing opks at the moment, so I can't be sure, but according to the app, I should have ovulated on Wednesday. I've been spotting for the last few days though, which is a bit odd - that and the fact a bit of tissue came out on my last period is making me think my body isn't ready yet.

I try not to compare cycles as both were so different - with my first we'd been trying almost a year but the month we conceived we were moving house so didn't dtd in the lead up and just dtd twice on the day I ovulated. We weren't really trying with my second pregnancy (the one we lost) - just thought one morning - while dd was napping - 'let's start trying to make another baby as it'll take ages'... then 3 weeks later, we were staring at a positive test.

pebbles3004 · 28/01/2023 13:12

Hope you don't mind me hijacking this post - but hoping you ladies can help as not sure where else will have a better audience 🙂 (note TMI warning!!)

I'm 4 weeks post TFMR today, and I'm still bleeding. It's not heavy, I'm using panty liners, but over the past 2.5 weeks it's been red bloody mucous when I wipe. I did have some cramps but they stopped after 3 weeks. It was getting lighter earlier this week, but since Thursday its picked up slightly and I've had more red blood (less mucousy) but still not needing to use more than a panty liner. I took a pregnancy test yesterday which was a faint positive.

I rang MAU this morning with the lack of GP/midwifes open, who literally said "we don't really know but we think you'll be OK, maybe if you are still testing positive in 2 weeks ring your GP"

Does anyone have any similar experiences? I have no pain or fever. I'm not one to panic over nothing so I do feel pretty OK about it (but sometimes I down play things when it comes to my own medical symptoms 😂 so my husband is badgering me to get checked) so just wanted MAU to give me some advice to assure me im right to be chilled, but their advice had zero conviction!

Is this normal?! I've left my midwife (who's fab) a voicemail so hopefully she'll give me a ring on Monday, but just wondered if any of you have had similar experiences / bled for this long after?!

Downtherabbithole83 · 28/01/2023 13:19

@Quokka7 I always plan on waiting… the reality is I’ll probably pee on a few sticks anyway! Stops me getting my hopes up.

Plus, due to ovulating around 4 days later than expected I have 3 different dates for AF being expected on 3 different apps! I’m religiously 25/26 days so my normal app sticks to that but Premom (which I’ve only used for 2 cycles) just adds 14 days after ovulation so that one’s saying 29 days this month and my health app is going somewhere in the middle 😂

I am completely guilty of comparing EVERYTHING. I wish I knew more about when I conceived my two daughters but I wasn’t tracking properly then.

@pebbles3004 I think you’re best to just wait to hear from your midwife as she will know the ins and outs of your situation - I think the length of time bleeding and how long it takes to get your negative can depend on the stage you’d got to in your pregnancy and the method used for the tfmr. I know from my obsessive googling after having mine that some people take quite a few weeks to get their negative test and to stop bleeding and for other people it’s relatively quick.

I think that the general advice is as long as you’re not in pain and there’s no fever etc then it’s not a massive concern. Hopefully your midwife can give you some advice - my bereavement midwife was amazing with all my questions (and I had loads!)

@pebbles3004 this sounds very similar to me. Mine carried on for 5 weeks and I had to go to the EPU to have a scan which showed I was slightly over the threshold for lining, although I had very severe cramping which has now stopped. I have to go back next week to be re-scanned to see where it's at now and hopefully after my recent period last week it will have sorted itself out.

I think as long as your not in pain, feel ill or bad smells, I'd pick up with your midwife on Monday. If you don't mind me asking, how far along were you? I was 25 +1 weeks x

I was 17+1.

Did you have a break between your bleeding and your period? How many weeks after did you get your period if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for your comment though. I'm really hoping this is just a slow recovery and I have no retained products. I just want to be back to normal to begin to think about TTC again. I know it's still early days for me but I just feel like I'm in this horrible limbo and unable to take control back and decide on our TTC journey while I continue to bleed!

whippeywhippet · 28/01/2023 19:56

@pebbles3004 our daughter was born on the 2nd December and I bled until the 27th Dec. I then had 2 days with nothing but then started bleeding again on the 29th (I thought this was my period as it was exactly 4 weeks after her birth but on reflection I think this was just a pause in the bleeding). This lasted for a further 9 days, then I had a break of 8 days with no bleeding and then my first period which was on the 16th Jan and lasted for 9 days, which is obviously long but particularly long for me as my previous periods used to last 3/4 days. I had no horrendous cramping with the period either which is positive. Our daughter was our first pregnancy so not sure if that makes a difference either. I'm really hoping this is me back on track though! X

God its a long time to bleed on and off isn't it. Really hope you are back on track too, you've been through enough.

I totally didn't expect this, I naively expected the bleed to be similar to a PP bleed but its been VERY different. I was thinking 4 weeks on I would be waiting for my first period, not still bleeding from the birth 🙃

Thank you for the messages. This is a shit club to be part of, but I'm so grateful for it ❤️

Quokka7 · 29/01/2023 16:51

@Cmp990 I'm glad you kept testing and got your peak! I think BD the second day of your CB peak is still good because I think they say you could ovulate between 24-48 hours after. The sperm meets egg plan would have you dtd three days in a row after the peak so it must be worth it!

@Hidingawaytoday Bodies are so confusing and complex. Have you had any more spotting? We tried for so long before our tfmr baby and then caught the first try after (which ended with a mmc) I feel like if I dont catch this cycle now it could be another long wait and that makes me just feel so exhausted.

@pebbles3004 sorry you're going through this. Hopefully your midwife can help you tomorrow. It must be so hard when you just want to move on and start looking forward to ttc.

@Downtherabbithole83 I'm glad I'm not the only one who compares everything! I've been using the fertility friend app for what seems like forever now so I can look back at everything! This cycle is definitely going to confuse it. I had to fake a positive opk so it would shift my expected AF date along. I wish I'd bought more when you said to be patient and that it could still happen! Maybe my body didnt like the stress of the opks though🤷🏻‍♀️! It only happened once I ran out! 😂

Hope everyone is having a chilled Sunday ☺️

Hidingawaytoday · 29/01/2023 18:56

@Quokka7 I agree - I wish I could just see inside me to know what's going on 😆. I'm not spotting now, but it was pretty much for 3 days, I think. Oh well. It might just have been my body clearing some more bits out?

@pebbles3004, I'm sorry you're going through this and I know what you mean about being in limbo. Hopefully a few more weeks will sort it out. I've had some tissue come out in my 2 AF's since my tfmr and was told by the fetal medicine people that it was normal and not to worry about it unless I bleed a lot (when not on AF) or have a lot of pain. Fingers crossed you get sorted soon x
