WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay · 19/11/2023 15:11

@Quokka7 that is wonderful news!! I’m so happy for you and thank you for giving everyone on this thread that little bit of hope.

Quokka7 · 22/11/2023 12:20

@Downtherabbithole83 @Vic231 @WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay @MilkyAndFluffy thank you ❤ I really hope that ours is the start of many babies to be born in this group ❤ sending all the luck and love to everyone xxx

herewegoagaiin · 22/11/2023 12:38

Congratulations @Quokka7!
You had your tfmr the same time as me and so it's an absolute delight to see you have your new baby now. Enjoy your maternity leave and snuggles.

oneweecraw · 22/11/2023 12:41

Oh @Quokka7 I am just so so delighted for you!! Huge congratulations, enjoy this special time!! You've given me hope again this morning. Xxxx

MilkyAndFluffy · 23/11/2023 01:10

How is everyone getting on so far this cycle? Hope everyone is ok and feeling positive whatever day of your cycles 🥰
Is anyone in any other ‘generic’ TTC monthly groups on here? Before my TFMR I used to join the monthly one each month but I can’t seem to find any, guessing they maybe arent a thing anymore…
Im 5dpo and already driving myself mad - hate the TWW but trying to keep positive 🙏 I think I’ll be lucky to get to 10dpo before testing, but I really want to hold off as long as possible

Vic231 · 23/11/2023 06:46

@MilkyAndFluffy hey! Oh the TWW I both love it and hate it 🤣 I definitely prefer it to my fertile week as I feel the pressure is off and it's totally out of your hands. I also try to cram the two weeks with plans and distractions! I'm currently in my fertile week and predicted to ovulate on Friday - I stepped away from the ovulation sticks this month as they made me crazy the last two months.

This is a really nice group that I'm in if you'd like to join... TTC after ectopic/after loss/older age etc ALL WELCOME 🙂 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/4940555-ttc-after-ectopicafter-lossolder-age-etc-all-welcome

FairyPools89 · 23/11/2023 07:33

Hi everyone. Sorry I’ve been so absent on here - struggled a lot with the first couple of months TTC since my TFMR at 23 weeks in August. I’ve actually had a positive test in the last couple of days, which I’m both excited and terrified about. (As a side note I got a negative test at 9DPO and then tested again at 14DPO and it was positive). My sister told me yesterday that she’s pregnant - almost exactly the same due date - but I can’t tell her as I can’t face being the one who doesn’t get a baby again. @MilkyAndFluffy there are definitely generic TTC groups on both Mumsnet (TTC November) and Netmums (TTC train November 2023) both which I’ve found helpful during the TWW although I’ve not actually contributed. Might also join the one you suggest @Vic231, thanks!

MilkyAndFluffy · 23/11/2023 09:04

@Vic231 thanks so much for sharing that group, I’ve joined it and currently reading through 😊I actually never thought of the TTW like that, but you are right the stress it totally off, weve done what we can and now we wait to see 🤞🏼 are you looking out for EWCM to confirm ovulation or are you just going to DTD enough that it covers you either way? I know what you mean about ovulation tests, it becomes a lot and obsessive. Wishing you lots of luck for the cycle ❤️

@FairyPools89 thanks for sharing those groups, I’ve managed to find the mumsnet November one - they always used to be the due date in the title like TTC Aug 24 so that’s why I couldn’t find it haha! I just really need all the help / support / distraction I can at the moment. Our TFMR was also in August, and this is our 2nd cycle trying since I recovered with retained products. I’m soooo thrilled for you getting your BFP but can totally understand your hesitations. It’s a tough one hearing your sisters news when you feel so unsure about yours, but I have absolutely everything crossed you have a happy healthy pregnancy and a gorgeous baby at the end of it. My sister had her baby in July, then my TFMR was in august, so it’s been hard being around a new born so closely now, when all I want is my own baby. Thanks for the testing notes, it just goes to show we really should hold off a little longer 🙈 massive congrats lovely, I’m really holding my breath for you ❤️ xxx

MrsScotland · 23/11/2023 16:41

Hi girls

Can I join in please? I had a TFMR 7 weeks ago. We tried for 18 months before we finally got a positive, had 2 private scans at 9 and 11 weeks, then our world came crashing down at our NHS 12 weeks scan. A NT of 8mm and a high risk NIPT for Edwards Syndrome. We had the tfmr at 14 weeks.

I was anxiously waiting for my period to come back, it took 5 weeks and I got a positive on an OPK last night so here we go again!

What do we all think about the 'you're more fertile after a loss'? I so want to believe it but also think it's just a myth!

Dinosaurus86 · 23/11/2023 20:53

Huge congratulations @Quokka7 - what lovely news. I hope you’re settling in with your new baby!

So sorry you also find yourself here @MrsScotland. Certainly my body took a few months to sort itself out; I’m not sure that particularly made me more fertile, but perhaps hormones slide into place more easily (?). We never really stopped trying (although didn’t try very hard the first month - more not preventing) but it took 3-4 months for me, and I’d say that’s pretty quick. So try not to put too much pressure on yourself. I know very well the desperation of wanting to be pregnant again though.

Good luck to everyone in the fw/tww.

So far I’m ok but have a really heavy cold which I’m worrying about. Had my appointment with the geneticist yesterday which was reasonably reassuring.

When’s your calculated due date @FairyPools89? Mine is 18 July.

FairyPools89 · 23/11/2023 21:05

@Dinosaurus86 it’s 28 July 😊 quite near to yours! I’ve got a very poorly toddler and a gravelly throat so also a bit panicked, but trying to rationalise.

Thank you so much for your well wishes @MilkyAndFluffy ❤️ got my fingers crossed for you.

@MrsScotland sorry you find yourself here - it’s such a tough thing to go through. I heard the same about fertility after loss from my bereavement midwife and held on to that in my head to make myself feel more positive and confident. Sending you lots of good wishes xx

MrsScotland · 24/11/2023 15:34

Thanks for the welcome. I've tried to go back to the start but if anyone feels up to giving me a wee introduction that would be lovely. It would be so good to hear how everyone is getting on.

Vic231 · 24/11/2023 15:42

Hi @MrsScotland welcome but I am so so sorry you are here 😔

A quick recap on my journey so far;

We very sadly had a TFMR around this time last year, I was 25+1 weeks and gave birth to a beautiful little girl. It would have been her first birthday in a few days 🤍

We waited a while to try again and I then fell pregnant in May but miscarried at 5weeks. I fell pregnant again but sadly miscarried again at 5+4 in September. I'm now under the recurrent miscarriage clinic and have had blood tests which have come back as normal and waiting on consultant appointment. I can't quite believe it when I type it all out but trying to stay positive!!

MrsScotland · 26/11/2023 09:21

Thanks for the intro! I’ve finally read every single post on this thread - it was so comforting to feel how familiar all of this is. I hope we all get there.

I had a phone call from the hospital on Friday asking me to come to meet a consultant on Tuesday to go through the PM results. Of courses I’m worrying how they can see me so quickly! But also pleased I don’t have weeks to wait. Husband is telling me not to read anything into it 🤣.

We didn’t have a firm diagnosis for baby so it will be good to know what was actually wrong.

Does anyone have any advice on what to ask at that appt, or things they wish they’d thought to ask? My main thing is what to do IF we find out we’re pregnant again - who to contact etc. The screening midwife had said we would be offered NIPT at 10 weeks but I can’t remember everything exactly.

Ive turned 39 this month so no time to lose. Got a super high peak on my OPKs last week (first cycle since tfmr). I have started taking 600 ubiquinol daily in addition to my vitamins and 5mg folic acid.

HoneyPea · 26/11/2023 10:34

@MrsScotland Hopefully another person who can make you feel a bit of hope for the future. I had a TFMR at 18wks with our baby girl in Feb 22. Then had a missed miscarriage at 9wks and an early miscarriage at 6wks. Found out I was pregnant again in Jan 23. Gave birth to our very tiny (4lb10) baby boy early at 36weeks in August.

Thornberry1 · 28/11/2023 11:47

How's everyone been? Feel like we've all had a lot on with procedures, TWWs, AFs.. Hope everyone's doing ok. Anyone else feeling weird that it's nearly December? Keep thinking about what next Christmas will look like🙏

Little update from me - I started on clomid a couple of weeks ago (for newly diagnosed PCO) and I've been in the hosp every few days for scans to check if it's been working. Finally got a little follicle growing and looking like I might ovulate in the next few days. Small steps! But will be nice to have a normal length cycle at the very least, and pleased we can actually try this month.

Trying to have an optimistic end to the year 💫

BlackThumb · 28/11/2023 15:38

Has anyone else had low AMH diagnosed after their TFMR?

I had my TFMR in April 22, and then went to IVF in April 23. I was told have low AMH and all cycles failed.

I have been told that AMH makes less of a difference to natural conception than IVF, does anyone have any experience with still managing to get pregnant with low AMH?

Quokka7 · 30/11/2023 09:35

@Dinosaurus86 @oneweecraw @herewegoagaiin thank you 😘

@BlackThumb I had an AMH of 4.1 back in October 2021. I was still able to fall pregnant naturally 3 times after this, in March 22, Sept 22 and finally with the 3 wk old little man I'm now holding after we finally managed to make it to full term from the Feb 23 cycle. I did a few things that the ivf clinic I was in touch with to get the Amh results suggested. I took 200 or 300mg of ubiquinol every morning and lunch - so 400 to 600mg daily. I also took dhea three times a day but I wouldnt suggest taking that without advice. I cut down on sugar and cut out plastic products where possible by buying glass Tupperware and a chillys water bottle. I loosely followed advice from it starts with the egg book. I don't think it was a coincidence that I was pregnant within 3 months of making these changes. I did struggle to conceive before this having started ttc in August 2020. I hope that helps x

BlackThumb · 01/12/2023 12:32

That’s so interesting @Quokka7. I have been doing all those things since my TFMR, but I wondered if with my low AMH it would make no difference. Mine was also 4.

MilkyAndFluffy · 03/12/2023 12:07

@Thornberry1 ahhh I’m so happy to hear you are looking to ovulate this month - one step closer. I hope you got chance to DTD over your fertile week this month. I have everything crossed for you!

AF arrived for me a day late so got all excited for a day. I’m feeling abit miserable about Christmas but trying to stay positive and think I still have a few months to conceive for a baby by next Christmas

TTC is c r a p

Gingerk1tty · 12/12/2023 10:24

Hi all, I have been reading your thread for a while and I'm now ready to join in. I had an TFMR in September after an 8.7mm NT reading and fluid on the abdomen. Our CVS was clear but we opted to end the pregnancy at 14 weeks given the prognosis.

We have a 21 month old son who is an absolute joy and has kept me going through this horrible time. He took nearly a year and two miscarriages to conceive and our TFMR pregnancy took just one attempt! We couldn't believe our luck but unfortunately it wasn't to be.

My cycles have been longer since the TFMR with later ovulation and spotting before ovulation but it seems to be settling down a bit. We opted for medical management but ended up needing to a D&E the same day as I had retained placenta and bled heavily.

We are now on cycle 2 of trying again and really hoping we don't have a long journey ahead of us.

Thornberry1 · 13/12/2023 09:51

So so sorry for your loss @Gingerk1tty that must have been incredibly difficult.

I think a lot of us had cycle changes etc. after our TFMRs so that's great yours have settled and you're able to start TTC again - I've found it's really helped.

So lovely to hear you talk about your son ❤Let's hope we all get our 2024 miracles x

erinnn0420 · 18/12/2023 22:41

Hi everyone,

Newbie! I’d like to join this thread after my TFMR just Friday past. Baby was diagnosed with Down Syndrome and everything went so quick from there! 1:86 high risk from 12 week screening (although I was actually 13+5 weeks), NIPT came back high chance a week ago today, I went for an amnio on Tuesday, got the phonecall with diagnosis on Wednesday morning, met with consultants that afternoon, took the first tablet and was in hospital on Friday for the next part. Baby was here within 3 and a half hours at 16 weeks + 3 days, my darling girl! I’m 25 years old and this was our first pregnancy so as you can imagine I am all over the place mentally! So scared to try again, but i’m absolutely made to be a Mum so we will be! Obviously thats me just 3 days post TFMR, so a little wait still before my cycles get back to rights but I find reading these threads so comforting and encouraging! Fingers crossed for our happy ending one day. x
