Anyone else on here in the same situation? Would be nice to chat to others who understand.

Is it standard to have a six-week check? I’m 5 weeks post tfmr and haven’t heard anything from anyone since organising the funeral with the bereavement midwife. They also contacted community midwife but I’ve heard absolutely nothing…

We’re not having a post mortem or further testing as we know the problem, so maybe that’s why, but I do feel a bit deserted.

Thornberry1 · 08/08/2023 15:36

@Dinosaurus86 I wasn't offered anything either.. I might get in touch with the bereavement midwife and ask

oneweecraw · 08/08/2023 15:37

@Dinosaurus86 I'm 6 weeks out today, this was arranged by the screening midwives as I've never met the bereavement midwife. Did you have screening midwives? They've been amazing so if so, would be worth contacting them. Sending love xx

Dinosaurus86 · 08/08/2023 16:48

I’m not sure about the screening midwives - are they the FMU ones? I do still have contact details for them, but maybe I’ll try the bereavement one. I feel a bit guilty bothering them and I’m not even sure exactly what I want. I suppose just someone to check in. The hospital gave me a great big envelope to give to the community midwife but they’ve never turned up.

I’m down for counselling but there’s a waiting list. Think I’ve just started first post TFMR period today which isn’t helping my mood (hard to tell for sure as bleeding never totally stopped but have cramps now too).

oneweecraw · 08/08/2023 21:20

@Dinosaurus86 my screening midwives we're at the hospital but they dealt with all of the appointments at FMU. Don't feel like you're bothering them. They're amazing women and they can provide support, appointments etc. x

Hi all,
I just wondered how everyone was and if anyone has any updates. We started trying again this month after losing our daughter in June. I don't think it'll happen this month as my cycle (although on paper normal) hasn't been usual for me.
Just been thinking about you all 🤍

Hidingawaytoday · 26/08/2023 21:27

Hi @oneweecraw, I think it took me a couple of cycles for me to go back to 'normal' - although 9 months down, they're still a bit irregular and I'm getting a bit of bleeding when I ovulate.

I'm ok, I thought we got lucky this month, but alas AF turned up 3 days late. I'm trying really hard not to focus on it right now - today is the one year anniversary of when I found out I was pregnant with the baby we lost. Oh well, there's always next month.

oneweecraw · 26/08/2023 21:30

From what I've read, this irregularity seems to be the norm. It's so unfair, it's like rubbing salt in an already very sore wound isn't it.
How are you feeling today? That's a lot and it feels like there's always another hurdle to get over. Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤍

BlackThumb · 26/08/2023 23:17

18 months on from my TFMR and nearly a year to when that baby would have been born, two rounds of IVF and absolutely nothing.

No blastocysts, no late period, no hint of anything. Guess I am not someone who gets it have children.

Dinosaurus86 · 27/08/2023 00:15

I’m so sorry @BlackThumb. Was your tfmr baby an ivf one? Where are you having your treatment? I saw a dr privately for fertility treatment and she was very good at tailoring it.

Really sorry to @Hidingawaytoday - so many difficult dates now to deal with. I keep thinking of how pregnant I “should” be. I also had bleeding this month when I think I may have ovulated.

I’m now 7 weeks on from my tfmr baby. We didn’t exactly try to ttc immediately in the end, though didn’t exactly try very hard to prevent. Not that there was much opportunity as I was bleeding pretty much through to what was the worst period ever at about 5 weeks. We have been ttc a bit harder in the last few days but I’m not tracking ovulation etc at the moment - will give it a couple more months before that.

How are you doing @oneweecraw?

Hidingawaytoday · 27/08/2023 19:03

Thanks all, it's tough with all the anniversaries and the monthly reminder of there being no baby.

I was doing ok, but I met up with some friends today and one of them announced her pregnancy while we were out - I'm happy for her obviously, but it took all my willpower not to burst into tears. Her DD is the same age as mine, so stings a bit that she's now on her second while we lost ours 😔

Hidingawaytoday · 27/08/2023 19:06

I'm sorry @BlackThumb have the doctors said anything? It must be so hard to go through the ivf journey and then lose the baby FlowersFlowers

Thornberry1 · 12/09/2023 16:16

Hey guys, how's everyone doing?

I was just wondering, has anyone experienced any fertility problems after TRMR, i.e. problems they didn't have before that pregnancy?

I'm stressing. My first AF took 6 weeks, the second was 3 weeks late (56 day cycle) and I've had pelvic pressure and pain (like I've pulled my vaginal muscles!?) basically since my surgery 4 months ago.

No other symptoms - no pain during sex, no extreme period pains, exercising daily. I'm just worried something is wrong. Could I have developed PCOS or endometriosis if I didn't have it before?

Had an ultrasound yday but literally got no feedback (got to wait for the Dr to read my results apparently). Asked if everything looked normal and she told me 'I can't talk and scan' and then after that she 'needs to look at the images'. She said all of this nicely but obviously now I'm quite worried..

Thornberry1 · 12/09/2023 16:18

Separately, is anyone pregnant again? I would love love love to hear a success story!

Downtherabbithole83 · 12/09/2023 19:49

I conceived my first two children quickly and I’ve had two chemicals and nothing else since my tfmr in November (which I also only took a few cycles to conceive).

I guess it could just be because of age for me 🤷‍♀️

@Thornberry1 don't worry too much that the doctor needs to give you the results. I had a scan after TFMR due to prolonged bleeding, the scan lasted a long time (internal, external, kidneys etc) so I did over think it too - but my sonographer said nothing and I got a text 2 days later saying "results are normal" and that was literally it.

Dinosaurus86 · 12/09/2023 21:29

No joy for me yet, but I’ve only had two periods post tfmr. Cycles seem reasonably normal but I’ve had more spotting than usual.

EMcG3 · 12/09/2023 22:32

@Thornberry1 - I feel extremely fortunate to say yes, I am now 34 weeks. It took a couple cycles to catch.

HoneyPea · 13/09/2023 05:57

@Thornberry1 Yes I am currently feeding my 1 month old (born at 36weeks) It was a fairy long road to conceive him. TFMR Feb 22, 1 early miscarriage and 1 Missed miscarriage (both summer 22) before this little man surprised us with his presence (we had decided to wait a few more months before trying again!)

HoneyPea · 13/09/2023 05:59

Congratulations, it's a scary minefield isn't it. Hope everything is going well 😊

Quokka7 · 13/09/2023 07:51

I am also pregnant and currently 31 weeks. Like @HoneyPea , we've had our bumps along the way - a mmc last November at 10 wks after our tfmr in June 22. Then I found out I was pregnant again in March. Due in November. Not long for you now @EMcG3 and congrats on your little man @HoneyPea xxx

whippeywhippet · 13/09/2023 07:58

This is wonderful! I'm in a bit of a sad place at the moment, I've had TFMR at 25 weeks last Dec, and then 2 miscarriages around 5/6 weeks since.

@HoneyPea you give me hope! Did you do anything different with your son? We are just waiting on an appointment for bloods via the EPU to see if there is anything causing the early miscarriages.

HoneyPea · 13/09/2023 13:27

@Quokka7 Thank you and congratulations to you too. Have you found out if you are having a girl or a boy or are you keeping it a surprise?

@whippeywhippet I'm so glad I can give you hope. It's such a tough time. I was waiting for a referral to the recurrent miscarriage clinic when I fell pregnant. We had decided to wait until we saw them and in the meantime the only thing we did differently was to take the pregnancare his and hers conception tablets. We had planned on making sure we had taken them for 3months before we started TTC but little man had other ideas. I think we took them for about 2 and a bit months before I (accidentally) fell pregnant.
It was so difficult to be pregnant again and part of me never thought I would ever actually get to meet him. Especially when his growth started slowing and we had to see the same specialist consultant who diagnosed our little girl.

WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay · 13/09/2023 16:59

I'm so delighted for you @EMcG3, @HoneyPea and @Quokka7. It does give everyone hope.

@whippeywhippet I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope sharing on here helps. I know it helps me. I hope you and @Dinosaurus86 , @Thornberry1 @Downtherabbithole83 all have good news soon.

My body is letting me down. I had an internal scan the other day as we haven't successfully conceived since our TFMR in January. It turns out that cysts on my ovaries that I had removed in August last year (and I became pregnant the following September) have returned. So I now need to get the latest cysts removed to have any realistic chance of conceiving again. I am now age 41 and so nervous it will not happen but I'm going to have the operation and hope.

We were told that we can have IVF without needing the cysts removed but we simply can't afford IVF right now as I am self-employed and my work took a nose dive following the TFMR as I really fell apart. However I am in a way relieved to know the reason I have probably not conceived yet is likely because of the cysts, it's helpful to have a reason and hopefully be able to do something about it. I'll probably have a 3 month window following the operation to then conceive... otherwise I think I might need to rob a bank or win the lottery to fund IVF.

Lunamoon2022 · 13/09/2023 17:43

Currently 23 weeks pregnant with a little boy after our tfmr in Nov last year. Good and bad days still, certainly won't sleep easy until he's here!
Good to see other positive stories. So sorry to those still trying - I keep up with everyone's updates on here in the hope of seeing more Good news. You're all so strong and it really helps me to see other similar stories
