Finally realised that our previous thread was full 🤣 I hope no one minds me starting up a new one!

Can you believe it's been almost a year since this was all started up?!

I'm so sorry @Houseelf90 ❤️

@LucyLoopyLu Sending hugs ❤️ I think it feels harder because it's been a crappy year overall, a BFP for Christmas is like the last shred of hope to cling to for the year so it feels so sad when there's nothing happening.

AF finally turned up this morning on CD53, glad I can make a new start as we head into 2023. Hope everyone had a nice Christmas/holiday season xx

Houseelf90 · 26/12/2022 10:23

Thank you @HeathenPlayingHouse. Sorry to hear AF turned up but pleased it means you can crack on with the next cycle!! Are your cycles always that long? Xx

HeathenPlayingHouse · 26/12/2022 11:14

@Houseelf90 Yes, unfortunately. My PCOS means I very rarely get regular cycles, even on Metformin (although it did solve the issue of constant bleeding between periods).

I'm prescribed Provera to kickstart my periods and I've had to take that again this cycle, but I don't like taking it because I don't see how I'm ever meant to get pregnant if I'm taking progesterone meds that force my period to arrive. So it becomes a vicious cycle of waiting to see if I get pregnant, getting a BFN then taking the Provera for 12 days. Hence the long cycles.

Houseelf90 · 26/12/2022 11:46

@HeathenPlayingHouse oh god that sounds awful bless you, I hope you get your BFP soon to break the cycle 🤞🏼 xx

BethSuz27 · 26/12/2022 20:15

CD25 for me and 12dpo (ish, didn’t track ovulation this month but last month was CD17), no symptoms to note, but have been quite distracted!! AF due on 1st Jan so
im just going to wait her out before testing as we only managed to dtd CD17 and 19 so not in for much of a chance this month …

@Houseelf90 so sorry my love ❤️

how is everyone else getting on?

Houseelf90 · 26/12/2022 20:26

@BethSuz27 thank you, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!! X

BethSuz27 · 27/12/2022 17:54

I have such a gut feeling to test (I’m 14dpo) but I said I’d wait till I’m due and then do it and I don’t want to be sad, I’m trying to hold out!!

LucyLoopyLu · 27/12/2022 21:10

@HouseElf90 hope you're ok, been thinking of you. Hope you have lots of support, your partner sounds lovely

@Welshgal85 any updates? I'm due AF on new year's day, hope it's a new year present for both of us to get BFP

@HeathenPlayingHouse thank you for the sympathy 💜 wishing you all the best for this new cycle. It must be so hard when they are long, you're a trooper. Hope you still had a lovely Christmas with your family and friends

@BethSuz27 cycle buddies! I'm due AF on New Year's Day as well. I think I will be testing from tomorrow though (11 dpo) as I will be drinking unless I see a BFP. Sort of a bit torn about testing at the moment though as I really would rather not know about a chemical if possible.

Trying not to symptom spot. Trying not to get down about TTC. Trying to ignore unintentionally hurtful comments from pregnant family member. Social media is a shark tank full of baby pictures and pregnancy announcements.

Welshgal85 · 27/12/2022 22:43

@LucyLoopyLu i had about 3 days of very light spotting, so not sure if that is a sign of implantation or a very brief light period, which never happens! Usually I get pretty heavy AF and stomach cramps but none this time. Originally AF was meant to be due NYE so not sure what to do now! I have one test in the cupboard so not sure whether to test in the next day or so, or wait and see what happens on NYE!

how are you? x

Houseelf90 · 28/12/2022 10:06

@LucyLoopyLu thank you, my partner is amazing and I have support from some family and a friend that know. Met up with some family member on Boxing Day and one of those has been trying for 3 years without a sniff of a positive, I don’t know what’s worse to be honest! Keeping positive that at least I know I can get pregnant, it’s not going to be an exciting time getting a BFP but getting as far as a 12 week scan is something to hopefully look forward to 🤞🏼
I hope you’re doing ok too xx

PinkButtercups · 28/12/2022 10:22

@Houseelf90 hope you're okay and glad you got a good support system. Thinking of you ♥️.

Just had the twins weighed this morning and 11 days ago they were 5lb 6oz and 5lb 5oz. Today they were 6lb 4oz and 6lb 6oz. My little boy is now bigger than my girl 🤣. Proud of their weight gains and got the go ahead to not wake them for feeds in the night if they don't want or stir for a feed 🥰.

Houseelf90 · 28/12/2022 10:40

@PinkButtercups thank you 🥰
Aww that’s great to hear about the babies! How are they getting on? Hopefully getting into a routine for you!

Dreamingof3 · 28/12/2022 10:50

@PinkButtercups that's such a great weight gain! Well done you and babies ❤️

I hope everyones enjoyed Christmas and those trying get their bfps very soon..2023 babies here we come

LucyLoopyLu · 28/12/2022 12:32

@PinkButtercups what a lovely update ❤️ that's some good weight gain, you must be doing all the right things! Hope you have had a lovely Christmas with your new babies and the rest of your family

@Dreamingof3 hope you're doing well too

LucyLoopyLu · 28/12/2022 12:35

@Welshgal85 I do think that sounds very promising, especially with the spotting that has now stopped! Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 for you

@HouseElf90 that is so hard, I don't know which is worse either. I have not had any signs of a positive for the last 9 months but think it might be harder to have the disappointment of a chemical. But yes at least you know the sperm is getting where it needs to g9! Hoping you will get your sticky BFP in the new year

I did a test this morning at 11dpo and it was stark white as usual. Not holding out much hope. AF due on Monday

Houseelf90 · 28/12/2022 14:38

@LucyLoopyLu its difficult both ways isn’t it!! Family member has had tests and all clear so her partner will now have tests. The symptoms I had both times I did get pregnant were hiccups and lower back ache, both of which I have today which, it’s really frustrating as with the amount of blood there’s no way I could still be pregnant, just got to wait until next week to test again and let EPU know, even though I know the outcome it still leaves that tiny window of hope when they ask you to test again 😩😩
11dpo is still early, both times I’ve had BFP’s I’ve tested a few days early and they’ve been clear white, no hint of a line and then 3 days later, bam! I know that probably doesn’t give much hope with both of mine being chemicals but the 2nd was much much darker at 14dpo than the 1st was at 14dpo. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Welshgal85 · 28/12/2022 15:11

Thanks @LucyLoopyLu not sure what to do next, will see how I am over the next few days.

Keeping fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

helly013 · 28/12/2022 15:17

Has anyone had a sickness bug during early pregnancy? I've had norovirus since Christmas night. Been so worried but just trying to keep fluids up but barley eaten much for 3 days! I've managed some rehydration sachets and sipping away at water.

LucyLoopyLu · 28/12/2022 16:26

@Welshgal85 thank you 😊 let us know when you know if you can!

@helly013 sorry I don't know from personal experience but definitely keep on with the rehydration sachets and just take it easy. Remember lots of people have sickness in early pregnancy and it doesn't usually mean anything bad for the baby. Hope you're feeling better soon

@Houseelf90 yeah the testing is a good start, I hope they get some results where they have a relatively simple plan for improving things. It hasn't made me less down about TTC though. Although my OH was very relieved by the testing because his SA came back all ok, but now it has been another 3 cycles I don't find myself any less worried knowing that I've had the scan. It doesn't feel like it will make it any more likely I will get pregnant just because they didn't see anything to worry about as lots of people have unexplained infertility. I will keep testing next few days because of new year drinking but not feeling confident

Houseelf90 · 28/12/2022 19:12

@LucyLoopyLu bless you, it’s so difficult isn’t it. I actually think when you have tests for anything, it’s better to find something (that can hopefully be helped) than nothing at all as there’s nothing worse than not having a reason/explanation for something! Brilliant that you have clear tests but that doesn’t actually help you conceive does it!

LucyLoopyLu · 28/12/2022 21:13

@Houseelf90 yes exactly, obviously I am grateful there was nothing obviously wrong, especially with the SA, but it's still not working! And I don't know what else might make us conceive.

I think I will do dry January though. I have been drinking in in moderation this year. I told fertility consultant I have 10 units a week and he said that was no problem for when TTC. In reality I have usually had less than 10 a week (before Christmas). But this is one of the only other levers I can think of to pull - to cut it out entirely for a month or two. I also might get a fertilily but I just think it might be awkward to put in. I've seen people recommend them on MN though.

Houseelf90 · 28/12/2022 21:41

@LucyLoopyLu its so difficult to know what to try isn’t it! I rarely drink, I have horses so I’m active every day, but I am going to try to eat more healthily after this week as out eating habits have slipped somewhat!!
I hadn’t heard of the fertililys but just had a look and they do look interesting, particularly if they work but like you say might be a bit awkward to fit! Worth trying for a couple of cycles though, although you never really know what has worked when you get your BFP!
Have you tried cough medicine? I didn’t notice any increase in EWCM but I did take cough medicine both months that I conceived, although probably just pot luck!

LucyLoopyLu · 28/12/2022 22:21

@Houseelf90 no I haven't tried the cough syrup, I keep saying I will and the forgetting to be honest! I did have some this month when I was ill but it was after ovulation so not really part of the plan 🤦🏼‍♀️ I do always go for a wee after DTD so maybe the fertilily will help.

Hope you're ok today and not feeling too upset? I do think the forums here are really helpful, knowing you're not the only one struggling

Houseelf90 · 29/12/2022 07:10

@LucyLoopyLu I always go for a wee straight after DTD too so it’s hard to get into the habit of waiting. I did read that it doesn’t make any difference but I have started to delay even just a few minutes when in the fertile week.
I’m doing ok thank you, the forums massively help, and my partner is really supportive but does get fed up if I talk too much about TTC (would never get fed up of me talking about the losses or being upset but the rest of it he does, he just wants it to be as natural and no stress as possible) so it’s great to be able to talk online about everything.
How are you feeling? X

Welshgal85 · 29/12/2022 10:31

@LucyLoopyLu I gave in and tested - BFN 😔
