@Rabbitjungle1 sorry to hear of your loss lovely. I didn’t contact GP but I went to have my blood pressure checked as it was really high in hospital when I had medical management, they had all the details of the loss on file so I would assume yours would be the same!xx

ChickenT2b · 01/11/2022 10:06

@Rabbitjungle1 i had blood work done after my mc. My GP said it was perfectly reasonable to request. She tested everything from vit D to all sex hormones, folate etc etc.
I then had a chemical pregnancy and my GP referred me to Tommy’s recurrent mc clinic in Coventry. I had further bloods and invitation to research trial which I have not accepted. She also gave me progesterone to take when I conceive again. I am saying when not if because well 💪🏼💪🏼 🌈
Hope that helps, go get those bloods. You really have to advocate for yourself and I have found doctors to be sympathetic to my situation to date.
I went to see my GP just yesterday because according to canesten self tests I have an infection. She has agreed to refer me for an ultra sound to check my internals. I suspected I had endo but my pain has really eased post mc, if not disappeared. And I also find sex painful at times. So it’s got me worried there may be something underlying!

FfayeN · 01/11/2022 10:09

@Rabbitjungle1 absolutely worth an ask for bloodwork, and under your NHS number so long as the hospital were aware it will all be on record.

@LovelyNanny26 it's called 'navigating pregnancy after loss' I think it's on thread 5 now. Good luck

@ChickenT2b @FfayeN think i might phone for a blood test in that case! I bloody hate having my blood taken though 😵‍💫🤣

ChickenT2b · 01/11/2022 11:51

@ChloeN I think as long as you voice your reasons well they shouldn’t deny you. You just want to make sure your key bloods are where they should be for successful conception and future pregnancy. It’s a sensible and reasonable request at the end of the day and the least they can offer after what we’ve been through. X

bunnykins123 · 01/11/2022 11:51

@LovelyNanny26 congratulations! Pregnancy after a loss is a really anxious time. Defo give them 'navigating pregnancy after a loss' page a go - lots of the ladies were on this form and have successful migrated over there. Wishing you the best 💕

@ChloeN ah you can do it! Just turn away and close your eyes, it'll be over before you know it. I've had about 20 vials of blood taken now and they have all be absolutely fine.

ChloeN · 01/11/2022 12:11

@ChickenT2b ive got a telephone appt on the 24th so at least that’s a start! Seems like they never want to see you anymore!!

@bunnykins123 oh god have you, that’s my worst nightmare🙈

Babydustmamma · 01/11/2022 14:29

I’ve got a meeting with my GP today. Reading through your comments has really helped encourage me to go in there advocating for myself and wanting answers! I’ve talked to them a few times and each time I’ve come away feeling like a nuisance and a bit like a silly woman… but I know something is wrong/different since the mc and I need help to find out why. Thank you ladies x

FfayeN · 01/11/2022 14:43

@Babydustmamma absolutely! Hope it goes well for you ☺️.

@mummatara are you feeling ok about tomorrow hun? X

Does this chart look in any way normal?! 😆 Obvs started temping after ovulation so I know hard to read at the moment but should it be going up and down this much? (AF due in 2-3 days)

TTC after miscarriage thread 13 💕🌈✨💛
curliegirlie · 01/11/2022 16:15

@emhope did you have a drink or two Thursday and Friday night? That might cause the spike...

bunnykins123 · 01/11/2022 16:29

@emhope hmm. Typically in your luteal phase, your temps remain high but it's hard to tell as you don't have data for the earlier stage of your cycle. Do you know what day you O'd on?

@Babydustmamma good luck with the GP. I've found them to be largely supportive but restricted in what tests they can offer, as those are done by the reoccurring miscarriage clinic.

emhope · 01/11/2022 16:58

@curliegirlie yes had few drinks Friday but not Thursday.

@bunnykins123 Didn’t use OPK’s this cycle but last 6 months when I have it’s been peak day 12 so ovulation on day 13. Matches with EWCM on day 10/11 so guessing day 13 again this cycle.

Frustrated temps seem all over the place even with discounting the alcohol day…

bunnykins123 · 01/11/2022 18:43

@emhope I'm not sure it'll be that easy to interpret without the 1st part logged. The spike might have been meaningless if your cover line is below 36.5c if that makes sense? The times you are taking your temp is also inconsistent (the little triangles) so it can throw off your chart. But I'm no pro 'temper' so someone else may be able to give you a better interpretation!

Rabbitjungle1 · 01/11/2022 19:16

Thanks @bunnykins123 and @Bubblesandballoons, for your responses - just catching up now 😊

@ChloeN and @FfayeN thanks for the reassurance that everything will be on file... as a control freak it's hard to just trust the process sometimes! 🙈

@ChickenT2b really encouraging that you got your bloods done after your MC, I will definitely call my GP in case they are open to this (all they can say is no, after all). I know what you mean about having to self advocate; honestly I'm used to this after a 20 year battle with endo that was only officially diagnosed 5 years ago 😶 On that note, I have heard from friends with endo that it can really improve after a pregnancy. Not sure if it's the same principle after a miscarriage too, but there could be precedent...

RainbowSearching · 01/11/2022 19:45

Do we think there’s anything to this? I don’t think there’s colour, so just an internet cheapie being an internet cheapie? AF is due Thursday/Friday I think.

For what it’s worth I’ve just had some yellow stretchy CM, which certainly isn’t the norm, but I’m not holding out much hope.

ChickenT2b · 01/11/2022 19:52

@RainbowSearching how long have you left it for? Sometimes it takes a few mins for the colour to completely settle. Usually mine are stark white but there is definitely a line there. Just strange about the rest of the dye. Maybe do another in the morning 🤞🏼

RainbowSearching · 01/11/2022 19:56

@ChickenT2b it’s probably been a good half hour when I took the photo, and I wouldn’t say anything was there within the time frame. But it’s so faint I’m not surprised. It’s the lack of obvious colour that’s making me think there’s nothing in it.

bunnykins123 · 01/11/2022 20:02

@RainbowSearching I defo can see something but the dye doesn't look like it's completely moved across so I'm not sure it's valid. Could you do another hold and try again? Hoping it's the beginning of something for you 🤞

RainbowSearching · 01/11/2022 20:09

@bunnykins123 I’ll just wait til morning I think. Keeping everything crossed 🤞🏻 (3 miscarriages in the past 12months) but at the same time not getting my hopes up.

mummatara · 01/11/2022 21:09

@FfayeN I'm feeling ok thanks lovely 😘 I did wake up this morning wishing I was going today but the practicalities of making it work for today would have been too difficult and tbf I've had a very very busy day which has kept my mind off it. I've just sat down and had dinner still got to pack my hospital bag, shower, clean the kitchen and hang out the washing. I'm on the emergency list so have to be there for 7.30 but could be any time of the day. I was very very lucky last time and was first in so was in theatre by 9.30 and was on my way home by 5pm

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes I've lost the place in the thread now where they all are to tag anyone I missed 🙈 I shall update you all tomorrow

TheBirdintheCave · 01/11/2022 21:49

@RainbowSearching I'd call that a strong positive :O I hope you get a clearer result tomorrow.

RainbowSearching · 01/11/2022 21:52

@TheBirdintheCave I think it’s a faulty test unfortunately

FfayeN · 02/11/2022 03:48

@mummatara I hope it all goes well ☺️.
@RainbowSearching fingers crossed for this mornings test xx
