Planning for TTC & waiting for 1st period 🩸

Wondered if anyone else is stopping their pill and fancies a thread for planning TTC and keeping eachother company while waiting for ovulation/1st period?

DP & I have decided to TTC baby 2. Our DS is 14m. He was conceived 1st cycle, within 2 weeks of stopping the pill, v lucky.

I'm still breastfeeding (3-4 times during the day, no overnight feeds now) and just come off cerelle. With BF in the mix no idea how long it's going to take for my cycles to return... I'm 37 so I'm hoping it's going to be fast!

First timers welcome too 🙂 when I got my BFP it was really handy and reassuring being on a thread with people who'd already had a baby.

@TobySpaniel I would stop it sooner rather than later, it is taking my body a while this time to get back to normal and I’ve had two cycles where AF has arrived way too soon after ovulation for a pregnancy to be possible. I’m wishing I stopped a few months in advance

Skyla01 · 24/10/2022 12:41

I'm still waiting for a bleed, it's been about a month since I stopped the pill. Think I might have ovulated a week ago so will wait and see if AF shows up later this week. I've broken out in a few spots today (forgot about spotty face, the joys) so she might be on her way.

@TinkRose we're also meant to be waiting for the new year but kinda half trying just now.

TinkRose · 24/10/2022 13:05

@Skyla01 half trying is the perfect way to describe it! 😂

TI2411 · 25/10/2022 12:36

Supposedly 4DPO and my boobs are aching like never before. They feel so heavy and I’ve had itchy nipples too.

I didn’t stop my mini pill until the 12th October so could have ovulated straight away?!

my app (granted it’s not reliable in this situation) says AF is due 4th November.

im confused 😆
I had only been on the mini pill a couple of months so I’m sure it wouldn’t take long to get out of my system.

Sorry for that absolute rollercoaster of a post! 😂😩

I caved! Is this what I think it is?! The line seems too far over? Taken after 3 minutes!

@TI2411 I see it too. Fingers crossed for you. That would be amazingly quick!! Keep testing and see what happens.

I can see the line but it does seem very far over! Fingers crossed for you though 🤞🏻

TinkRose · 25/10/2022 15:28

So with absolutely no cramping or any other symptoms of it coming whatsoever, it looks like AF is here!

TI2411 · 25/10/2022 15:31

@TinkRose im so confused 😕😂

TI2411 · 25/10/2022 15:32

Thank you @HoppingTiger 💕 I’ll test again in a couple of days. I’m still not convinced 😂

HoppingTiger · 26/10/2022 22:58

So just after I posted yesterday, my period came. Exactly two weeks after the egg white CM which is hopefully a good sign. Going to get some OPKs ready for next cycle to see if /when I'm ovulating.

Any more news @TI2411 ?

Charlotte1256 · 27/10/2022 08:33

I’m planning to test next Thursday (3rd Nov) when I will be about 10/11dpo, I’m finding it so hard to resist though, I need the tests confiscating off me until then 😂😂 even though I know there’s no way it would even be showing positive now the temptation is real 🙈

TI2411 · 27/10/2022 15:52

@HoppingTiger i did another FRER the following morning and nothing! Not even a hint! 😔 my other half was convinced it was a BFP!
I am so poorly with a gastro bug, so will just wait the weekend out now.
Been off Cerazette for 2 weeks now and no withdrawal bleed yet

TI2411 · 27/10/2022 15:53

@HoppingTiger fingers crossed you can start charting now 🤞🏻

TinkRose · 27/10/2022 19:57

Well AF has been very odd - 2.5 days, one of those felt like a period but the others have been more like spotting. To be honest even on the ‘full’ day I could have got away with only one pad for the entire day (obviously didn’t but it was definitely light enough)!

marleyandme · 27/10/2022 20:01

Can I join? Came off the

marleyandme · 27/10/2022 20:03

That went well!
Came off the pill 25th September and still no sign of AF yet after a withdrawal bleed the week I came off. Hoping for something soon even though we're not trying til next year, I want a few months of regularity to find out what my cycle is like before we get there.
Glad I'm not the only one waiting!

Oh no I’m sorry!
Hope you’re better soon.

TI2411 · 28/10/2022 08:10

@TinkRose thank you! Feeling tonnes better today.
had a large amount of yellow tinged discharge after wiping this morning. Why is that a symptom of both AF arriving and early pregnancy?! 😩😂

TinkRose · 31/10/2022 19:34

How’s everyone getting on? I’ve started tracking ovulation today using the easy@home strips. I originally said I wasn’t going to do any tracking for a few months but my really short period made me feel anxious so let’s see how I get on with these!

I had exactly the same. A period which only lasted 2.5-3 days and was a lot lighter than usual. I imagine it is just the pill taking time to wear off and hormones to resettle. I hope the OPKs help you feel reassured. I am holding off for now but may do it next cycle. So easy to over-analyse.

Charlotte1256 · 01/11/2022 06:31

Incase it offers reassurance to anyone to know that I was also the same, my period was only 2-3 days long and only like a proper period for maybe one of those days! I’ve just done a test at 9dpo (dpo going off an app as I didn’t OPK test) and bright white negative for me this morning but I know it’s still very early so we will see in a few days time, next period is due at the weekend xx

TI2411 · 02/11/2022 22:23

@TinkRose still no withdrawal bleed here! I’ve been off the pill for 20 days now. How long did everyone else wait for theirs?

Charlotte1256 · 03/11/2022 07:47

Trigger Warning
I’ve just done a test with my First wee of the way, and this has come up! I’m probably about 11dpo xxx

HoppingTiger · 03/11/2022 10:46

Massive congrats @Charlotte1256!! So speedy. Who would've thought when you were posting a few weeks ago.

I've got the curve ball of being asked to apply to a job I can't refuse. It's an amazing promotion and right place for me. Long term would work really well with children too and lots of benefits. But the start date would mean if I ttc in Jan I could end up arriving there 1-3 months pregnant as it's an Easter start date. It's all up in the air - I have a very good chance of getting the job, but not definite yet. If I get it I think I may delay trying to conceive to feb or March so that I can have time to settle in and not feel stressed about going off on maternity when I'm too new to it all. So hard. Babies happen when they happen in a way and I could find it takes me a long time. But equally in that position, I'd regret sitting in my current job just on the basis that I may get pregnant quickly and don't want too much change at once.

Anyone know how statutory maternity works with new jobs? I've done a basic google but anything to be careful of?
