41 and still trying! Any joiners

Good morning! I've not posted on MN for a while as trying to take a more laid back approach but let's face it that doesn't work anymore than anxiously rabbit holeing your way through a cycle either.

I am coming to the end of cycle 2083626480 and I have had all the usual period symptoms! Everything seemed to come together nicely this time so it's another disappointing month. Not tested but know the inevitable. My partner and I have some fertility tests coming up so hopefully some light will be shed on our situation.

I have a 3 year old and have had 3 miscarriages last year.

Anybody in the same boat and would like a friendly thread to share their journey it would be great to hear from you!

@LeeCee going for tests was a real turning point for me mentally. The results were shit, more in terms of IVF and I don't want to do that anyway. But I know I have a slim chance but still a chance and if I get lucky great if I don't I feel ok about that now.

Thanks for replying. Yeah I think maybe the tests will give us some clarity rather than this stupid blind hoping. We're so lucky to have the two we do have. I'm going to have to make my peace with maybe that's it

You're dead right we deserve a break and at least Christmas is a good time for that break

Me too, decided to wait until the new year as my period is due Christmas Eve and I don’t want that stress over Christmas!! I have the opk testing, which I’d thought I’d do as had an ectopic this year and wanted to see if my cycles were back to normal, but haven’t got round to it yet, but they seem to be. Am still taking a cocktail of supplements which I didn’t do before. Will definitely be having a drink over Christmas as oddly, the only times I’ve got pregnant have been when I haven’t been abstaining - not sure if it’s a stress thing!! I'm 42 in May and have an 11 year old and an 8 month old.
Trying to give our youngest a sibling close to her in age so we've been trying for the last 4-5 months and have miraculously had 2 months of receiving faint positives but both times have ended in chemical pregnancies.

I'm optimistic though, that it must mean I'm fertile, I just need to get that 1 good egg!

Currently 4DPO and will be testing sometime just after Christmas (period is due on the 28th)
Think we have a good shot this month as we managed to BD 4 times over my fertile window which is unheard of for us as my husband often works away.

Looking forward to seeing how we all do over the holiday season x

Hi everyone I am 5 dpo today. Af due 27/12 but going to test 24th as would love to get a bfp for Xmas day.
I was last pregnant in April but sanely ended in loss at 6 weeks. Feels like a miracle if it were to happen again but I’m praying. Good luck to all xxx

I'm just crossing my fingers that when AF is due on Christmas Day, that actually, I get the best Christmas gift ever and she doesn't show.

I'm trying to not stress as much and have come to terms a little with the fact it may not happen. Unfortunately though, it was be the end of my relationship too though, so will be a double whammy.

I think I've got a couple more months left in me for trying then I need to look at what my next chapter may be x

I'm due Christmas day, like you, I'm hoping for a little Christmas miracle.

Can I join? I am 41 and have a 4 year old. I had a miscarriage this time last year which stopped my period for months afterwards so I am only just trying again. I'm so glad I found people my age as I feel so old to be TTC.

Hi please can I join? I was 41 in September and TTC number 4. Have 3 children aged 12, 9 and 7. Have never had trouble falling pregnant and my eldest was conceived in first month trying and my 9 year old second month. My youngest was not planned and was conceived after one time. I am not with their father anymore and with a new partner. Had a miscarriage at 10 weeks back in March and had RPOC - had a hysteroscopy in June as my body thought it was still pregnant and it was horrendous :(
Taken a few months for my body to get back to normal. Am now using OPKs as my partner works away and I am 41….not fallen yet but am only on second month trying. Didn’t give it much of a go last month but have tried my best this month.
I am not holding out much hope. Convinced because of my age I am out of luck but really want a 4th. Period due on 29th Dec. If no luck going to give it a break for January. Anyway - it’s nice to see others in my situation ❤️

How's everyone doing?
This final TWW of 2022 is doing me in. Over analysing every single possible symptom, definitely just making stuff up 😭

I'm imagining a lot too...well hopefully not imagining of course!

Main thing is being super emotional, to the point it's funny. I can't hold a conversation about anything significant without weeping. This is always a big sign for me in the past.

Boobs also feel slightly tingly 🤞🏻

I was planning on waiting till after Xmas to text but now I think I'll text on the morning of the 25th

meetmeinthespring baby is 10 months, but won’t take a bottle. If she did I’d be weaning but since she won’t I do think formula/ breastmilk is nutritionally important until they are 1 at least so it’s not that straightforward. If we were definitely going for another one I’d ask the gp but Dh and I haven’t had the conversation, there’s a good chance he is 1000% done, no typo 😁

I'm so happy today I am ovulating. I thought I had missed it this month due to a bad cold so I am pleased I at least get a chance to try before Xmas. Good luck to everyone else trying.

Well in a bizarre twist of fate, I'm going now be hoping I don't become pregnant after learning that my partner is a compulsive liar and cheat (always knew about the lying bit, clearly buried my head in the sand about the other).
So, good luck to you all, I'm out of the game now, which is a tiny relief to be honest.

I use cheap ovulation sticks from amazon then when I see the two lines I do a test with the more expensive clearblue ones. I track my period on an app too but my ovulation is always later than that predicts. The best method is to have sex every 2 days then you don't have to track but that's too much for me 😂
