@Welshgal85 that does sound odd! Are you writing it all down so you can take to the doctors if you have to go back?

I think I'm going to start noting some things down in a diary as I feel like it might be easier to see patterns than on an app

So AF is definitley here…. CD2 now, Ovulation predicated for CD13 on the 8th, 🤞🏻, did anyone do anything different on the cycle they conceived?

@BethSuz27 the only thing I did was take folic acid.

@LucyLoopyLu for BBT I use an easy@home thermometer in conjunction with the app. It's not the Bluetooth one, though, much less faff to just read the number and put it in than to prat about pairing it with my phone. It was about £15.

Thanks @SarahShorty I was looking at them on amazon and the prices seem to vary so widely I wasn't sure what was best! Thinking I might do temping just for one cycle to check it all looks good

Hi all, I think I might take a bit of a break from MN. Finding the luteal phase thing very difficult to deal with emotionally, and I've had the most horrendous period. I'm sure I'll be back soon enough, just feel like I need a bit of head space. Off to Spain next week so hoping that will help me feel more relaxed. Hope everyone's ok, sorry for any messages that I've missed. Speak soon I hope.

For those with a longer LH surge, how do you calculate ovulation? I usually just get a positive OPK on one day, but this time I had a positive on CD17 and much stronger positive on CD18 - would you assume it's the day after the first positive, or the peak reading?
Not that it matters much, I'm just impatient and would like to know if I'm in the TWW or not yet😅

@Mortima I had a similar thing happen a few days ago. It's usually called a gradual surge, where you have what looks like two surges back to back with the first surge being only slightly lower than the second surge. If there is a decline after that second surge, then ovulation has occurred or is occurring and thus marks the start of the TWW.

CD25 for me today. My surge came on Tuesday (CD23) and I ovulated yesterday (CD24) and I had an increase in BBT this morning that confirms it, which means this cycle is going to be a rare 38 days long this time. DTD'd 5 nights on the trot. Phew! I think the CP from the previous cycle messed me up a bit. So now I'm in the dreaded TWW. DH has his semen analysis a week today with a follow-up consultation on the proceeding Tuesday, by then I'll be nearing the end of the TWW. I'm not massively hopeful this time due to the LH and BBT being weird, but we shall see.

Has anybody ever had months were they don't seem to get an EWCM around the time of ovulation? Tmi, I normally get quite a bit but this month nada and I'm CD17...normally 25-27 day cycle, although last month was an odd 31 day...

@missmoosh yes. For me, no two cycles are the same in any way. Sometimes I damn near gush with EWCM, sometimes it's only a drop or two. Sometimes I don't even get ovulation pain, I'll just get the sore boobs to indicate that I ovulated. This is why I find cycle tracking is so important.

@SarahShorty ahh perfect thank you! I may start tracking more closely next month. I normally always get the ewcm, but it feels since ttc my body is behaving like a crazy thing! 😂 I did have sore boobs a couple days ago, so maybe it was then. I'm due AF on my bday, so hoping she stays away 🙏

@missmoosh I only had one month of EWCM and started to get worried as it wasn't even near ovulation. I read about cough medicine helping (obviously as long as it's not every month as the body would become used to it) I took it for 3 days leading up to ovulation and I had so much that I think I actually had a blockage and then I conceived that month. May just have been a coincidence though. Obviously I can't recommend it as I'm not medically trained was just though my own research 😂

@lj2022 well I know what I'm trying next cycle! 😂😂😂 I have been using preseed this cycle as I haven't had any ewcm, so I'm hoping that has at least kept me in with a chance this cycle...

@missmoosh honestly it's crazy as they have this thing In the states called muchinex and it's basically just the ingredient in a cough bottle that breaks down the mucus in the body (Guaifenesin) is what has to be in it. Definitely go do a bit of research and see what you think. Honestly I swear it's what helped me I was 8 cycles in and loosing all hope

@lj2022 is there any particular type of cough medicine that is supposed to help and do you take it as though you’ve got a cough (4x a day) or just once a day?

@Houseelf90 I just took the green benylin as it has the ingredient guaifenesin! Can't remember how often you're recommended to take it but if you Google it for ttc you'll find some more info I'm sure I only took it once or maybe twice a day and only took it for 3 days xx
