SMEP - anyone giving this a try this month and want to join me?

New to mumsnet 🙋‍♀️ and I've seen loads of threads where everyone is so lovely and supportive so thought I'd post. This is our 4th cycle ttc #2, 1st cycle giving SMEP a try as I've seen so many success stories. With our first, we got so lucky and ended up pregnant on our first month trying so this waiting is a bit of a shock, although I know out 1st was the exception not the norm! Would love to hear any success stories, or any other ladies that want to compare notes this month x

@Aurora81 i’ll check that video out tomorrow thank you. Phew to CD12 being ok. It’s never been before CD13 before but thinking it’s a throwback from covid maybe and being so late last cycle because of it

@allgoodthings84 i totally get that - it’s so stressful, I think I will wait to test also, im tracking my bbt so I’ll monitor what that looks like before I test too!

@NSx i think it will be easier to wait now I’m on cycle 3 as I’m not expecting it to happen any time soon although still hopeful and know there’s every chance. It was hard waiting on my first cycle but now not so much. Last cycle I had so many symptoms and felt so different to how I normally do so I’m not going to pay any attention to any “symptoms” this cycle either

@NSx i know I would be really sad about a bfn and first day of AF is totally shit but the promise of a new cycle and another go at it then gets me feeling positive again. Every cycle AF arrives is still a cycle closer to that bfp 😊

@allgoodthings84 that is indeed a very positive way to see it. I actually didn't mind testing early this time round. I was upset it was a negative but then felt like I could move on and just wait for AF rather than wondering for several more days

i think it’s definitely ovulation time I can feel it. I had a 0.88 reading this morning so still high so think I probably peaked evening time. Wish I had taken a late test but then I wouldn’t have been able to drink my water or Sprite Zero 😂 I got a reading at 1.22 at 4pm so know I definitely peaked yesterday so didn’t miss it at least.

we didn’t have time to dtd this morning. Don’t know why I thought we would be able to as mornings are always hectic so will go tonight and hopefully not too late but if it is it is. We have only dtd twice in the fertile time as the first go was 6 days ago so just missed. Tonight will be 3 times. Will go again tomorrow night but that will probably be too late if I’m feeling slight ovulation pains now but who knows as it might not actually happen until tonight

so yea basically this cycle it’s guaranteed 2 goes at dtd then tonight so hopefully 3 and a small chance of 4 if tomorrow night isn’t too late. 2 wouldn’t be ideal but better than none lol. Still regretting Monday but that’s done now. I didn’t expect a peak until today so thought we gar more time. I’m so glad I do opk though so now know when I’m due AF

im doing my first CB OPK today Im sure it will say big O as I’m still a few days away from ovulation, but the clear blue website told me to start testing from today based on last months chart 😘
it’s literally turned to O as we speak 😂.. I would expect a flashing smiley probably Friday, maybe Thursday - let’s see x

@allgoodthings84 I wouldn't stress over not doing another test last night. You know you peaked and you can feel it in your body too. Yup morning time is not the easiest but you have tonight. As you have said and heard before it only takes once so don't be hard on yourself.

@Aurora81 amazing 🤩… you’re 2 days ahead of me so hopefully I’ll get mine tomorrow or next day as my cheapies are low this morning so probably start to rise towards the wkend

@NSx @EdinburghGirl1 that’s what I’ve just got to keep reminding myself. I’m so glad I can share here as I’m not telling my partner my fears or he will worry too and that might not be good for his performance ha ha. He’s never had an issue before but never felt under pressure before. No one knows we are ttc.

I’ve never tried the clear blue ones as I’m a cheapskate 😂. I think the cheapies are ok for me though as I get a dark obvious positive and seem to match up with EWCM and then what I now know are light ovulation cramps. I felt it on my right side last cycle and this time I felt it on my left. My left seems to ovulate a couple days earlier. It’s so odd. Even though it all seems to match up I still wouldn’t do without the OPK as I like to know it’s definitely right. My resting heart rate is still going up and it’s now over 60bpm so think it’s happened now so we will dtd tonight. Tomorrow night will probably be a waste of time but we will if we get chance just in case it’s still happening but not finished yet. Then after that we probably will dtd every 3 days or so just in case and so we can have some purely for fun sex. I miss that sex 😂

And ladies do NOT let me symptom spot this cycle! I felt so different last cycle with loads of symptoms (veiny boobs near nipple, cramps that felt so different to usual AF cramps, nosebleed) so now I know nothing is likely to be a pregnancy symptom

@allgoodthings84 - no idea. Got the smiley face today, my apps are putting me as ovulating tomorrow (this is so bloomin complicated I swear!) so I (think) I'll be 1DPO on Friday? A few more days of BDing every day just in case.

I know what you mean about 'just for fun' - at this point my OH must feel like he's on the clock 😂

I'm not looking forward to the wait, at all - I'd convinced myself last month that we'd been successful, felt nauseous (and was sick), sore boobs, and then AF arrived with a vengeance.

@NSx flashing ☺ and negative opk. So, I am expecting another flashing smiley tomorrow, CD 12, if my evening opk is still negative.

honestly all u need is one good sperm ✅ so don’t ever worry about not DTD enough. As long as you’ve done it during ur fertile window a few times hopefully it worked 🤞
also DTD sex is defo not as fun, 😂😅 … I miss drinking wine and having tipsy sex 😌
@Aurora81 so flashing smiley means estrogen levels are up, but static means LH, so you’ve probably defo got another flashing smiley coming up, if ur cheapie is still negative…
i reckon I will get my first flashy maybe Friday. Let’s see 😆

I don’t know why I want another one right now 😂. My 7 year old has her best friend round and have trashed her bedroom and the living room. Toys everywhere! I used to go behind them and clear up as they went along but now I wait until finished and make my daughter help put it away. They have the our generation dolls, accessories and clothes out
