SMEP - anyone giving this a try this month and want to join me?

New to mumsnet 🙋‍♀️ and I've seen loads of threads where everyone is so lovely and supportive so thought I'd post. This is our 4th cycle ttc #2, 1st cycle giving SMEP a try as I've seen so many success stories. With our first, we got so lucky and ended up pregnant on our first month trying so this waiting is a bit of a shock, although I know out 1st was the exception not the norm! Would love to hear any success stories, or any other ladies that want to compare notes this month x

@allgoodthings84 wow that really is quick! I usually do two tests a day once i hit CD9/10, then sometimes 3 on 11/12. It's why I did the second CB yesterday afternoon as I thought it may change to a flashing smiley, but was still O, so I may be quicker with my surges than I realised.

@LucyFraser1981 yep its very quick. Think I could miss the peak if I used CB as I always peak later in the day it’s always low (on high side of low) in the morning and I definitely can’t afford to be taking 2 CB tests a day. I nearly missed my peak this cycle as it happened much later in the day than before so if I only did my normal 2 tests near peak then I would have missed it. I do 7am ish and 5pm ish near peak but this time I didn’t get a peak even though I knew it was that day as was a higher low that morning so I did another 8pm and 11.30pm. The 11.30pm one was the peak and it was down to high the next morning

@NSx fingers crossed it works out. I work monday - Friday so will have to go out of work for my appointments. I’ve just said it’s for blood tests and they won’t think anything of it

@allgoodthings84 the only thing is I’m working Monday Tuesday so my appt is very early on the Monday which suits me, if I change to Tuesday I might not get that same time but let’s see - I’ll know by Sunday probably 🤞

@NSx yea definitely better to wait until you know when you’re going to ovulate or could be changing it more than once

@allgoodthings84 im going to wait until Monday morning as I will have a better understanding of what’s happened this wkend, if I don’t get a peak by Sunday - hopefully I can change it if that’s the case 🤞

@NSx if you ovulate later could you ring up and ask if you could change the test date if it’s more than just a day out? That’s what I’m planning on trying to do as I ovulate any time from cd12-cd15. The last 2 cycles have been cd12 so I went with cd19

@LucyFraser1981 it’s so annoying when you have it all planned out isn’t it. I can go from low to peak on the same day (low but on the higher side of low). 2 days before ovulation they tend to be around 0.12 then day before goes to around 0.28 then next morning around 0.64 then peak when I test later in the day. I only have one day of peak

@Aurora81 honestly, what the heckin heck?! 🤣 usually my opks take ages to even remotely get near to being positive (highest I get on premom is around 0.7!), so this CB one has rather thrown me! I had everything all nicely planned 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

Gah, I hope so! If I'd know it was going to be earlier then I'd have got partner over yesterday evening as well! I'm hoping I won't ovulate until Sunday, which would potentially fit in with the peak CB opk, as past cycles I've ovulated two days after a positive, which would still give us plenty of time to DTD and catch the egg. It'll be weird if I ovulate today or tomorrow, very early for me! The cycle I go pregnant with my son (9.5 years ago, so I know things can change!) I didn't ovulate until CD17. I think if we don't manage it this month I'll just be getting partner to come over every other day once AF has finished, sneaky hormones messing up my timings 🤣

will see how I go, hopefully get a static by Sunday 🤞
that’s good you’ve done plenty of DTD -
I’m starting tonight cd11,12,13,14&15 … unless I ovulate late then I’ll have to keep going 😂😅

@LucyFraser1981 although if you ovulate earlier than usual this cycle it will likely mean your AF will arrive earlier if not pregnant so you won’t have to wait as long to find out 😊

@LucyFraser1981 wow that was a fast surge!! Get dtd ☺️ that usually happens to me, but this month it was much slower and I am wondering if its from the homeopathy and vitamins I am taking. Sperm can live in the body for up to 5 days ✨

I am 1 dpo ✨my temp shot up this morning. We couldn't dtd yesterday, due to work schedules and my DH feel asleep early. We managed to dtd this morning though. So we dtd
cd 6 ✅
cd 9 ✅ -5
Cd 12 ✅ -2
Cd 13 ✅ - 1
Peak Cd 14 Ovulation (during the night)
Cd 15/1dpo ✅ +1

We are going to dtd tomorrow and then it's out of our hands ✨

@LucyFraser1981 and if you ovulate today then you’ve got the cd6, cd9 and today and maybe even tomorrow in your fertile time

@LucyFraser1981 definitely enough! Ovulation is usually day after peak so likely tomorrow so if you do tonight and tomorrow that’s 3 days in your fertile time. It’s definitely enough.

@allgoodthings84 @NSx I just hope it doesn't mean we've missed my fertile window, as we DTD on CD6 & 9, but today is CD11 so if I do ovulate early, as in today, then maybe we won't have DTD enough at the right time 😕

@LucyFraser1981 thats bizarre - but it means peak fertility so get baby making 😂😂😂 Do u have any cheap tests u can try ?
normally I get a couple flashy before static 😅 but I’ve been using these for like 3/4 months and I use the same holder so it keeps your baseline levels I think!

@LucyFraser1981 ah looks like you’ve had a quick surge. That happens with me too but I only use easy@home opk’s. Our bodies are definitely very interesting and annoying when they don’t do what we want them to do

And actually it makes sense as my temp dropped massively yesterday morning, which I know can be linked to estrogen gearing up before ovulation, so I wouldn't be too surprised if my temp shoots up tomorrow, as it was within its normal range this morning. Bodies are so interesting 🙂

@allgoodthings84 no, I did the first CB test on Wednesday (CD9) as that's when the instructions said I should start using them as I have a 29 day cycle. Got an O that day, and two Os yesterday, then this mornings CB is static smiley, and my premom opk is almost peak too. So guessing I may ovulate a little earlier this cycle, will have to see what my temp says over the next couple of mornings. Luckily my partner will be here all weekend, so hoping we'll catch the egg this time 🤞

@LucyFraser1981 was yesterdays your first day this cycle? I think they always start with an O on the first day every cycle from what I’ve seen from others
