SMEP - anyone giving this a try this month and want to join me?

New to mumsnet 🙋‍♀️ and I've seen loads of threads where everyone is so lovely and supportive so thought I'd post. This is our 4th cycle ttc #2, 1st cycle giving SMEP a try as I've seen so many success stories. With our first, we got so lucky and ended up pregnant on our first month trying so this waiting is a bit of a shock, although I know out 1st was the exception not the norm! Would love to hear any success stories, or any other ladies that want to compare notes this month x

@LucyFraser1981 I use the cb opk and I had 1 low and 5 high, flashing ☺ this cycle. I am going to see in the morning if I get a ☺ peak, as I got a peak on a cheaper test around 8pm today.

@NatGee I am sorry I didn't realise that AF had arrived. I am the same I don't like wasting my frers.

im onto cycle 3 now and cd9 - I should ovulate cd14 if I’m on time so fingers crossed my RHR & BBT shows ovulation 🤞 …

@LucyFraser1981 i think we are cycle buddies - I’m on cd9 also? Got a O on my CB OPK, hoping for a flashing smiley tomorrow - normally I get 3 flashing before a static 🤞✨ let’s see…

@fsr111 I hope you are okay. I was the same last cycle during the TWW, from 7dpo it consumed me and I felt so down when AF arrived, again.

@allgoodthings84 I strangely had a slow surge this cycle. I am hoping that the homeopathy helped me, as I have been ovulating on CD 12 the last few cycles with fast surges. I will know by my temp in the morning if I ovulate during the night or not. So, it will be CD 14 this cycle that I will ovulate.

@NSx I am going to check my blood test results and let you know what my levels were. I am the same. I feel so happy for others when they get a BFP but so sad that I still haven't.

@NatGee the class is on twice a month, but I can watch recorded classes when I want and study when I can. I have done some short homeopathy classes and I loved them too. Well if I ovulate during the night or in the morning there will be swimmers from this morning and the day before.

@NSx yep, CD9 for me today too, also got an O on my cb opk today (first time trying the CB), forgot to use another premom test this afternoon though, but mid morning's one wasn't nearing a peak at all, so I'm not expecting my surge until CD12, which is usual for me. Although this is my first cycle using the cb ones as well, so will be interesting to see if they agree. The cb ones I've got supposedly measure estrogen too, which I'm intrigued to see if it makes a difference. I usually ovulate CD 14 too, give or take a day, so we'll likely be buddies the whole way through 😊

@NSx we dtd Cd 6 then 3 days later Cd 9, then 3 days later yesterday Cd 12 and today Cd 13. So, - 5, - 2, - 1, well if I ovulate Cd 14. My ovulation day changes cycle to cycle, as it was CD 12 last month. It's like I literally make a plan and my body does it's own thing and my plans go out the window ... 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤔

@NSx results of my Cd 3 bloods
LH= 3.9, FSH= 5.8, prolactin= 357, oestrogen=147, TSH= 2.06, T4= 11.4

@LucyFraser1981 the purple ones check the estrogen surge and LH surge and the pink ones only test the LH surge.

@Aurora81 yeah I've got the dual hormone ones, the purple. I'm interested to see if they'll agree with the premom ones 🤔😊

I’m 4DPO today so hopefully can get the 3 day and 21 (or whatever) tests next cycle. Problem is CD3 will be a Sunday based on ovulation so likely to be CD4?

what did the dr say regarding your results - I only got tested for FSH - 7 prolactin 269 and LH 4.1 - I think because I conceived in feb they aren’t too concerned but just wanted to check my levels have went back after delivery, all were noted as normal for my age (35)..
well this cycle has been weird - I normally get really hot sweats before AF and I hadn’t been since delivery in may, but this month they came back & before feb I was getting 2 flashes, and a static then since may I’ve been getting 3 flashes & a static. This month I expected my first flashy today, but nothing 😂😂😅 so I don’t really know what to make of it all. 😅
we DTD cd6 , we were going to DTD all smileys but so far haven’t got one yet, got O instead today - don’t know if I should leave it and DTD tomorrow - so would be cd11 all through ovulation (to cd15/16) 😩 my head is gone

@LucyFraser1981 the last 2 months I’ve had 3 flashy smileys then a static, expected my first today but nothing - O again today. I fell pregnant in feb and only got 2 flashy then 1 static , so not sure if my cycle is going back to that before my pregnancy.
I hope to get my static cd13 so let’s see 😂😂😂 .. yes I think we will have the same cycle right through you’re right 💜

@NSx oooof, these cycles like to keep us on our toes! Do you use any other opks? It's hopefully just settling back down to how it was before 🤞 I use the premom ones and test twice a day with those once I get to CD10, as I know many women have short LH surges so can miss their peak reading. Not tested yet today with either CB or premom, was up at 6am to get my son ready for school, so just holding off a little longer.
I'm happy to have a cycle buddy 😊 I'm not holding out a lot of hope for me though, as I'm 41 next week, but my Nan had my Dad when she was 45 (in 1951) so hoping I've inherited her sturdy eggs 😅💗

@LucyFraser1981 yes I do the same, strips & premom app, but obviously the CB OPKs tell you when there’s a surge in estrogen aswell as LH so you kinda know a bit earlier that it’s coming.
I’m hoping that I’m going back to pre-pregnancy with 2 flashing & then static - so fingers crossed for a flashy tomorrow 🤞I’m expecting to ovulate on Monday hopefully … (unless it comes later which will be annoying as I have day 21 bloods booked 😭)
Lots of people have babies at 40 so I wouldn’t worry too much I think it may just take a wee while longer though, fingers crossed for you ✨💕 let’s hope this is a good cycle for everyone.

I use the purple CB opk, but think it was a mistake to use fmu, as directed. This cycle I will begin tracking late mornings / afternoon as it takes sometime for LH to reach your urine

By the way, realising that most of us are in our mid 30s and older - have any of you tried taking Co enzyme 10? I read it starts with the egg and the lady said it more than tripled her viable egg count, after being diagnosed with low ovarian reserve.
It turns the idea that we cant do anything about our eggs as we get older completely upside down

@NatGee i have the audiobook of this haven’t listened to it all, but I heard her say this on there, haven’t taken it myself though. My FSH came back as 7 so I think it’s ok for 35 isn’t it - higher would suggest low eggs wouldn’t it ?

@NSx i got the audiobook too and listened to it as I worked/did chores. I thought it was very good
The message I got is that Coq10 is good for older ladies in general because as we grow older, the energy an egg takes to become a blastocyst and implant, reduces, one of the reasons why it takes longer for us to fall
She addressed her specific issue with DHEA and other things, which, as your rightly point out, I wouldn't necessarily do unless I had received the same diagnosis

I just found it fascinating that things were looking so bleak for her, and she managed to turn it around.

@Aurora81 nooooo I got O again which is weird because the last 2 months I got 3 flashys starting on cd10 and got static cd13 -
before I was pregnant in feb I got 2 flashing then a static - so not sure what’s going on!

I don’t know if I should DTD tonight or leave it until tomorrow which hopefully I should get a flashy!

@NSx I also just got an O today, but not surprised as the premom one I did only put me at 0.36, although that's actually higher than I usually get on CD10 first test. Definitely think I'll leave the CB one until later tomorrow. My partner and I aren't DTD tonight as he's not back until tomorrow now, but we'll be doing it every night from tomorrow, including Monday, and possibly Tuesday (my birthday!) and then Wednesday 🤦🏻‍♀️😅 we don't currently live together as he's doing up a house with his brother, so I usually only see him at weekends, but we're buying a house together next Spring so will make things easier if we've not caught by then. If we do manage it before then he'll just have to move into my tiny bungalow 😅
