SMEP - anyone giving this a try this month and want to join me?

New to mumsnet 🙋‍♀️ and I've seen loads of threads where everyone is so lovely and supportive so thought I'd post. This is our 4th cycle ttc #2, 1st cycle giving SMEP a try as I've seen so many success stories. With our first, we got so lucky and ended up pregnant on our first month trying so this waiting is a bit of a shock, although I know out 1st was the exception not the norm! Would love to hear any success stories, or any other ladies that want to compare notes this month x

@EdinburghGirl1 oh phew that’s a relief. I never ovulate earlier than that it’s always CD12-CD15 apart from covid cycle

I need my partner to get home I’ve got EWCM that I need to put to good use 😂

@allgoodthings84 i totally get what you mean - hopefully it’s not hormone related. I think checking bloods would defo put your mind at ease, just to reassure you that your hormone levels are ok.
i will let you know how my bloods come back - hopefully all ok 👌🏽…
I don’t know how to check mucus I can’t tell the diff between it all 😂😂😂

@NSx hopefully they will agree to do those tests. I hope your results are all good. The only mucus I can tell is EWCM as it’s clear and stretchy and before ovulation in fertile time

Ladies I cant believe it!! I haven't slept all night as I've been so worried about seeing a BFN, but it couldn't be clearer!!

did you follow SMEP to the T?
what days did u DTD?

@NSx I know your question is not directed at me but I had been thinking about this method the other day and concluded that if one bbts then one wouldn't strictly stick to it

So, SMEP asks you to dtd every other day from cd8 and then once a +opk shows (I assume peak LH?) then dtd that day, and then the following two days. Stop for one day and dtd again

I didn't think it was necessary to stop for one day and dtd as, according to my temperature, i was already a good couple of days past my ovulation. Instead we dtd up until 2dpo

I suppose this is a good method if all you use are OPKs, to make sure you catch the egg

my opk was exactly the same reading as it was this time CD11 last cycle so think I’ll definitely be peaking today likely on my test at around 5pm ish so in a couple days I’ll be in my 2ww again!

@NSx@NSx I am delighted that you had a great appointment! 😊 I am planning a strategy too depending on the results of my cheapie opk later and my cb digital in the morning. We dtd cd 6, and DH is working late tonight, so hoping to dtd in the morning ✨

@NatGee when are you going to test? I am cd 8 today and got a low on the cb digital opk. Going to do a cheapie test after work... Early finish today at 2pm 😁

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I take iron as well. I usually take it for 3 months and then I take a break from it. My vitamin D was normal last time I had it checked but it was very low when I had the chemical pregnancy a few months ago.

@fsr111 when are you going to test again? I have my fingers crossed for you.

@Aurora81 i don’t know if to continue to do SMEP and do CD8,10,12 should get pos OPK 13 so 13, 14(OVU day) 15 and 17 ….
it seems it worked for a few ladies here - but I don’t know.
I know that because it didn’t work last 2 months there could be many factors as to why.
ill make my decision based on my blood results when they come back hopefully on Monday 🤞

@allgoodthings84 this is the exciting time then it's the boring and anxious wait of the dreaded two weeks ! Are you strictly smeping or doing anything different?

@Aurora81 good luck with the cheapie today. I usually only start those once the cb opk begins flashing, to save the strips 😄 My af is only due next Tuesday but I'm itching to test Sunday. No symptoms or any indication I might have fallen so not holding much hope and already planning for the next cycle

@nsx fingers crossed everything will come back clear but since you've already fallen I suspect all is OK on the conception front xx

@nsx due Tuesday. I was going to test Sunday but I really have no reason to. DH is telling me to just leave it til something like next weekend. Its like he doesn't understand the pain of not knowing 😡 He's like "if your period doesn't come then you know, right? And if it does then you know too" 😡😡🤣

@NatGee We have started off properly but got a wedding all day/night tomorrow so can’t dtd tomorrow so it’s gone to pot as I’m 99% sure I’m going to peak today. We dtd CD8 and CD10 and will do tonight and Sunday night but will have to miss ovulation day and Sunday night will probably be too late but will anyway just in case
