SMEP - anyone giving this a try this month and want to join me?

Mum2DD89 · 05/08/2022 15:17

New to mumsnet 🙋‍♀️ and I've seen loads of threads where everyone is so lovely and supportive so thought I'd post. This is our 4th cycle ttc #2, 1st cycle giving SMEP a try as I've seen so many success stories. With our first, we got so lucky and ended up pregnant on our first month trying so this waiting is a bit of a shock, although I know out 1st was the exception not the norm! Would love to hear any success stories, or any other ladies that want to compare notes this month x

@EdinburghGirl1 i know what you mean, they aren’t cheap 😂😂 and it is a waste of money.
I haven’t used my frer yet I’m gonna wait to see what my temp says tomorrow morning - it rose today to 36.84 which is the highest it’s been but anything can influence it so I’m not holding my breath, if it goes down tomorrow I won’t bother testing & just wait til Tue when AF is due. @Aurora81 I’m sorry but u had a great chart - hoping for that BFP for u for next month girl! 🤞✨✨

fsr111 · 27/08/2022 06:46

Sorry for the negative test @EdinburghGirl1, hopefully it's just a bit too soon in your cycle. I'm not feeling any symptoms or signs this month either, normally have sore boobs by now so that gives me some hope (even though it happens every month) but nothing!
Fingers crossed for everyone testing over the weekend 🤞

fsr111 · 27/08/2022 06:46

How's the temp looking @NSx? Have learned so much about bbt from this thread!

EdinburghGirl1 · 27/08/2022 07:06

@fsr111 thank you. I know I'm not out out yet but I'm pretty sure. Feeling a bit blah today but I'll get over it. I don't know how I'm going to manage dealing with this if it goes on for months and months. I conceived my DD cycle 4 so maybe 4 will be lucky for me this time. Also we are going on holiday in less than 3 weeks so most of my tww will be on holiday so at least I will be very well distracted and relaxed. I've had some sore boobs past couple days but that's it.

fsr111 · 27/08/2022 07:16

@EdinburghGirl1, hope you can do something today that can take your mind off things. It's so hard waiting, it's almost a relief when AF shows up because at least I know, but then the disappointment comes. When are you actually due on? I'm not 100% sure when you expect AF this month, I think possibly Wednesday / Thursday. Trying to hold out without testing but...

EdinburghGirl1 · 27/08/2022 07:18

@fsr111 I'm due Wednesday I think. 11dpo today. Got a pretty chilled weekend this weekend. My DD is going to her dads for the weekend so my OH and I will get out and do something. Probably go for a coffee and a walk later on or something

NSx · 27/08/2022 07:22

@fsr111 it dropped back to 36.67 this morning, so back to where it was/has been for the past almost 2 weeks.
tbh I don’t think I’m pregnant - so I think it’s just a case of waiting for AF on Tue - I’m not going to do a test as I don’t want to waste a frer when I don’t feel positive at all- I have no symptoms and by this time when I fell pregnant with my Angel girl, I had symptoms.
oh well, onto the next cycle - #3
how u getting on?
@EdinburghGirl1 im in the same boat as you, no AF yet but just know it’s not this month. We said this from the very start of the cycle. 😂 it’s funny how our bodies just know 🥲

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/08/2022 07:54

It is exhausting, and I know I definitely fixate more than my partner does. He's much more relaxed about it. But I am the planner in our relationship also, and impatient!

@Aurora81 id be really happy with your chart, long luteal phase etc (mine was only 10 days or so). Hopefully the remedy your friend gave you will work. Don't know if this is useful (you might have seen already) www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Implantation-dip-study.html

@NSx your temp is still well above cover line, just because it hasn't increased further doesn't mean you're out. It is SO disappointing to see a negative test I agree.

I think I'm 4-5 dpo at a guess. No idea when I'll get my period though as this is my first cycle

EdinburghGirl1 · 27/08/2022 08:01

@NSx yes we both absolutely said that. Hopefully more positive next cycle.

NSx · 27/08/2022 08:36

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 you are totally right however I do feel we know our bodies and you do get an inkling - I could almost tell you I’m 100% certain.
If AF doesn’t come by Tuesday I may test but other than that I’ve more or less accepted I’m out and onto the next cycle.

@EdinburghGirl1 yes - fingers crossed for a BFP in September 😭💜

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/08/2022 14:00

@NSx I kind of agree but I feel my body tricks me each time 😫

First pregnancy (that I lost) I got pregnant first month and had cramps, sore boobs, travel sickness, fatigue.

Second pregnancy that resulted in my baby I had nothing at all - not even sore boobs. I only tested because I was doing out to get drunk that night 🤷‍♀️

This time I'm hopeful (as always) but in reality I might well not have ovulated! Trying to ignore any 'symptoms'. I forgot how much I hated the tww

allgoodthings84 · 28/08/2022 21:20

How’s is everyone doing? Any more testing coming up?

I'm CD6 now so be starting all over again soon

EdinburghGirl1 · 29/08/2022 07:01

@allgoodthings84 hi I'm doing ok. Was feeling bit rubbish on Saturday but I'm over it now. Just waiting for AF and onto cycle 4. Feel more positive about next cycle. I've just started taking COQ10 as it's meant to be good for egg quality which given I'm nearly 38 I think would help. I also have a reflexology appointment on 8th September before I'm due to ovulate. I'm hoping both these things help this month be the lucky one again (was 4th cycle with my DD)

fsr111 · 29/08/2022 08:16

Morning guys, I'm 8/9dpo, AF due Thursday. Been a bit confused by my cycle this morning. Have a strong urge to test but know I'm going to be disappointed! How's everyone else? @EdinburghGirl1 I definitely think it helps having a plan for next cycle, will make you feel more positive if / when AF arrives. I've booked a dr appointment to talk about next steps for mid-September and feel like at least I have that in the diary now. How's everyone else?

EdinburghGirl1 · 29/08/2022 08:20

@fsr111 8/9dpo is still pretty early but it's up to you. Have you had many symptoms?

Yes absolutely I like to have a plan. I'm a planner 😊 I know AF will arrive in next couple days but I've dealt with that and got next cycle and a holiday to look forward to. I'd love to come back from holiday in 4 weeks with a bfp

fsr111 · 29/08/2022 08:32

Oh I totally know it would be too early and I will be disappointed, but the urge is strong!! 🙃 No major symptoms, just the usual really. How do you feel so sure you are out this month @EdinburghGirl1? Just feel like you know? Xx

NatGee · 29/08/2022 08:39

Morning ladies
@EdinburghGirl1 glad to hear youre gearing up for next cycle. Ive been reading about coq10 and think its a useful supplement to take. Dhea is another one, i heard good things about but havent looked into it yet. Praying cycle 4 is the one where you get your bfp 🙏🏽

@fsr111 still early to test. If you manage to wait, do, as it might come up as a false bfn

@allgoodthings84 the exciting part is coming up, it sucks to wait knowing theres nothing that can be done. Still sticking to smep?

@NSx I look forward to tomorrow for you and hope af doesnt arrive in which case youll be testing is that right ?

I am 7 dpo today and will test sunday. Ive been suitably distracted so far but return home tomorrow so from then til the next weekend may be more difficult to hold my nerve

EdinburghGirl1 · 29/08/2022 08:53

@fsr111 I have had bfn at the weekend and literally no symptoms. With my first I did have symptoms and got bfp at 11dpo and just knew

NSx · 29/08/2022 09:23

@EdinburghGirl1 im with you on this.
I haven’t tested yet but there’s no point? I know I’m not pregnant I have 0 symptoms -
I’ll wait for AF due tomorrow or Wednesday I don’t know 😂 will move myself over to the June thread too 🥲

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/08/2022 09:48

I'm out also, period started this morning, so that means only a 5-6 day luteal phase. When I'm back home will try the B vitamins to lengthen and the liposomal C. Ultimately though I think I'll need to reduce feeds however, as luteal phase issues are apparently common when you're feeding. Onto the next month

NatGee · 29/08/2022 10:45

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sorry to hear but sounds like youve a good plan there for your next cycle xx

NSx · 29/08/2022 11:52

@NatGee well yes AF should be due tomorrow or Wed I think, so if she doesn’t come I may test but im unsure as I feel nothing 😅
how u doing ?

NatGee · 29/08/2022 12:11

@NSx all good here, 7dpo so no symptoms really. Testing next sunday, but for some reason i feel like it wont happen for us any time soon which i realise is a very premature conclusion seeing this is only our 3rd cycle ttc. Oh well, we'll see 🤷🏽‍♀️.how about you?

NSx · 29/08/2022 12:14

@NatGee im on cycle 2 this month & I feel exactly like you, nothing happening -
I was pregnant in feb and did have lots of symptoms so the fact I have none just now more or less tells me I’m out. Onto cycle 3 for June 🤞 hoping for a bit of luck for next month.
I know these things take time but I’m so impatient 😩

NatGee · 29/08/2022 15:18

Im so impatient too, does feel like theres an awful amount of time when we just wait. Were you getting symptoms this early on? Do you remember what they were ? I know we know our bodies better than anyone but I wonder if it is possible youre just not getting them this time round? Until AF is here, its game on!
