SMEP - anyone giving this a try this month and want to join me?

New to mumsnet 🙋‍♀️ and I've seen loads of threads where everyone is so lovely and supportive so thought I'd post. This is our 4th cycle ttc #2, 1st cycle giving SMEP a try as I've seen so many success stories. With our first, we got so lucky and ended up pregnant on our first month trying so this waiting is a bit of a shock, although I know out 1st was the exception not the norm! Would love to hear any success stories, or any other ladies that want to compare notes this month x

so the vets said he’s stable but they won’t know fully if he’s damaged his kidneys until they do his bloods later, they will have to sedate him again for this unfortunately 😩 they said if all goes well I’ll get him back later this evening possibly tomorrow morning, but I don’t want him there another night so I will insist on getting him at whatever time.

I don’t know if I’ve ovulated yet my OPK said 1.33 which was peak around 9pm last night, this morning I tested At 7am and it was 1.0 so still quite high but dropping. I’m going to test now at lunch …

@NSx i really hope the results will be all good and he can recover at home with his family.

I would say your peak was last night. When mine peaks late afternoon/evening the next morning is still high but lower then the evening is lower still. I love successfully catching a peak. Think it’s one of the reasons I like doing opk’s as it’s like a challenge to catch the peak 😂 I would be stressed if I didn’t though

@allgoodthings84 yes I think my peak was around 9pm so technically I should ovulate today at some point … latest by tomorrow morning if u go upto the 36h cusp. Who knows 😂😂 but hopefully I should be around 1dpo tomorrow depending on my temperatures, it rose today a bit so need it to keep rising for the next 3 days right ?

i hope my baby gets to come home tonight 😩🐱✨

@EdinburghGirl1 I am still getting headaches to be honest, not as bad as yesterday. I want to see if it helps my luteal phase, as caffeine can affect progesterone and the adrenal glands.

@allgoodthings84 relaxing and being stress free can make your heart be slower. Mine are always a bit lower during the weekend ☺️

@NSx hoping he is okay!! Yay that you are ovulating today ✨🤞🏻✨I think I am definitely 3dpo, as my boobs are always are a bit sore on 4dpo, well the sides of them. My temperature is still going up too.

@EdinburghGirl1 i hope I get him home too, I’m an emotional mess at the minute without my baby 🐱
yes I think I should be in my 2WW from tomorrow which is exciting aswell as scary 😂😂😅

@Aurora81 im going to try to not symptom spot this month, so just going to wait and see what happens. I will monitor my BBT just to see if I ovulated or not 🤞

@Aurora81 maybe, it’s just that it’s never dropped at all until just before AF due in the last year I’ve looked back on even before we started ttc. That’s what concerns me. If it happened often it wouldn’t phase me I’ve just not seen it on my Fitbit charts before. Hopefully it doesn’t mean I’ve not ovulated properly. I guess see if it drops down further tomorrow, if it does I’ll be mega confused as that would normally mean AF on way but it can’t be yet as I’m only CD17 and my LP is always 12/13 days. It’s still higher than I am pre ovulation. Hopefully it’s just a normal thing and will go back up and doesn’t mean anything bad

@Aurora81 decided to take your advice and just took another OPK and just got my peak reading so should definitely ovulate tomorrow. Think I'll be seducing my OH later on 😊

My baby is home 😭🐱 he looks like he’s been battered and I think he’s still a bit sedated as he is all wobbly and in slow motion, but the main thing is he is home and he hasn’t done any internal damage 😩💜

I am such a sleepy head today... So tired and probably from my body adjusting to no caffeine. I lay on the couch after dinner and dosed off.

@EdinburghGirl1 wow! Well I guess we don't know the exact moment the surge reached peak, so it's a good thing we both checked.

@allgoodthings84 my sister gave me her old Ava bracelet to use but the strap is broken. She suggested keeping it on with a wrist band. I downloaded the app and I have attached a screenshot of the parameters it measures. Going to try it out tonight if I can get it to stay on 😅

@Aurora81 an Ava bracelet would be amazing but I keep thinking can’t justify the price when hopefully it won’t take forever. Let us know how good it is

@fsr111 we're ttc#1, kinda last chance saloon for us as we're approaching our 40s and don't want to keep trying indefinitely. How about you?

@Aurora81 so good your bbt is holding up, I think you want to see an upward trend but not entirely sure if it shoots up linearly or if it dips and rises steadily. Bbt is still new to me but so fascinating how much it can tell you about your
body. I think I'll keep charting as a natural contraceptive

@allgoodthings84 @dobby13 so good of you not to test before AF is due/ before next sunday. I'd be climbing the walls haha but I may take a leaf out of your book and do the same. The disappointment of BFNs is just too, well, disappointing !

By the way ladies don't be put off by the cheapie hcg tests, some are almost as good as first response and a fraction of the price. One Step for example are sensitive down to 10mlu whereas frer are 6.3mlu

@NSx welcome to your tww. I'll join you tomorrow. Ovulation pain seems to have subsided so kinda wonder if it happened overnight. I'll count tomorrow as 1dpo anyway. He looks so cute. Glad you got him home

@allgoodthings84 just checked my RHR from Apple Watch and was 55 yesterday and is 68 today. Think this could mean I ovulated during the night. Quite fascinating isn't it

@NatGee he’s still not himself but he’s getting there - my female cat doesn’t recognise him because he smells like the vet so she’s hissing at him 😭 I hope it passes soon 🥲🥲🥲

@NSx yeah I think so although I do have DD starting school tomorrow so that new routine should keep me a little busy. I think it will be next week that drags! It's just the health app on my phone that connects to readings from my watch

Gosh there are loads in the TWW now, I'm slacking! @NatGee still no rise in LH which is odd, CD16 today so will bd tonight as per SMEP then hope I get a positive OPK tomorrow and ovulate CD18 🙏 which means we will hopefully hit o-2, o-1, o and o+1. But this is a late month for me which is frustrating..

@Aurora81 wow I'd love to try one, it would make my life so much easier but keep thinking what if I fork out the money then get pregnant straight away.. maybe I should buy one then so sods law gets me preggers 🤦‍♀️😂 let is know how you get on overnight!
