Hey all!

I'm on several other threads that I'm keeping up with but some of them are a tad long now, so I thought I'd start a new one for people to join.

Ovulation day for me today (30.07.22) so TWW starts officially tomorrow. AF due on the 12th. I have tests in the house, but my goal this month is to keep my mind busy and avoid symptom spotting! I don't plan on testing if I can help it. Want to avoid the disappointment if I can.

We are TTC #1 and we are in cycle 4 now. I had a chemical mid June when we weren't officially TTC but when it happened we realised now was the time to actively try. We wanted it so badly.

So that's a little about me and I would love some company in a slightly smaller thread.

Much love xoxox

@Hannargh @TheCakeIsALie18 nah, I'm cd16 today so this is my usual ovulation day I've just been a bit worried about my opks results so thought I'd be ovulating later but I think I've just been testig earlier then normal and throwing myself off! I think last time I was a simmilar cd to everyone but ovulated earlier.

@TheCakeIsALie18 sorry you've been upset about your weight! I've definitely felt that since coming of the pill. And I can imagine being pregnant and the hormones and all the changes coming up doesnt help!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 28/08/2022 22:14

@Nypie thanks. Yeah I just had a meltdown lol. I'm OK now though. I'm just going to work on not gaining more weight than necessary over the next 9 months.

I'm glad you defo caught O! I've got everything crossed for you. How are you feeling about this TWW? Xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 oh yes I know that feeling well ... I think it's worth prioritising feeling comfortable at times (which may involve sizing up even if you don't want to think about it) so that you can still feel good about how you're looking - especially with everything to come in through next 9 months. I'm sure you look fab anyway, but I know that feeling good in your own skin can feel much harder sometimes.

TheCakeIsALie18 · 29/08/2022 09:41

@Hannargh Thank you ❤️ the only problem is I can't afford a whole new wardrobe at the moment, or even a couple pairs of jeans lol. I'm just going to muddle through until there is a bump and then move to maternity clothes. The autumn will be here soon enough and I'll be in my big baggy jumpers anyway lol xxx

Congrats @Nypie that O has been you did what you needed to do!
@eleveneleven11 and @Hannargh how are your OPKs? Mine seem to be getting weaker 😂 guna start the digital one from tomorrow, and expect a peak Friday Saturday or Sunday I guess. I haven’t done temp in 2 days just cos I get up then realise I’ve forgotten. Will try and get back on that but also, ergh. I’m tired 😴!

Hannargh · 29/08/2022 14:39

Such a lovely collection of tests @TheCakeIsALie18 !

@Shleepymummy my opks also seem pretty low compared to the last 2 months but I'm still expecting O on Fri or Sat. Assume they will start shooting up towards the end of the week 🤞
Bbt is all pretty normal (and low) so I'm not worried I've missed anything either.

Nypie · 29/08/2022 16:39

Thanks! @TheCakeIsALie18 @Shleepymummy I'm glad our part is done for this month. I'm feeling a bit more relaxed about it all we're hoping for some good news for our family but if not we'll spend next fertile week somewhere romantic so that'll be nice!

I love that you wrote final on number 30 😂 the lines look great! Exciting that your next photo on here might be your scan! How has dp been doing?

@Shleepymummy my opks were doing the same but I did change brand I also think I wis dipping them for too long as some of the lines had gaps in them 🙄

TheCakeIsALie18 · 29/08/2022 16:45

@Nypie well I thought that if I wrote final on it then I wouldn't be temped to test anymore lol 🤣 DP is doing well. He was expecting me to be a hormonal mess and other than the weight gain meltdown I've been alright lol. I never get mood swings even on my period so fingers crossed I'll be pretty chilled for 9 months haha. Yeah, scan on Saturday so I will post pictures here so long as everything is going well ❤️

I'm glad you're feeling good. Fingers crossed for you. Hopefully TWW will go pretty quick for you 🥰 xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 haha fantastic tatic, I'll have to steal it when it happens for me. Well atleast hes expecting it so if it does happen he really should be prepared! Aww so soon well the lines are good signs that all will be well. And we'll all have our fingers and toes crossed for you!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 29/08/2022 17:08

@Nypie thank you ❤️ I reckon this week is going to go crazy slow though haha. Xxx

Shleepymummy · 29/08/2022 20:05

@Nypie ah this is interesting! I have been dipping mine for ages cos it’s a new type and says wait until dye rises so I have been then leaving it a bit after that. Maybe I’m dipping too long!
will try and be good with time tomorrow morning

eleveneleven11 · 29/08/2022 21:13

@Shleepymummy @Hannargh hey! totally forgot to start opks today - definitely keep thinking it's sunday haha. i'll do my first one of this cycle when i wake up tomorrow! it's go timeeeee!

hope everyone has had a lovely long weekend xxx

Nypie · 30/08/2022 03:57

@Shleepymummy tbh I still havent read the instructions for these new ones 😂😂 I've definitely had clearer results doing a 5 sec dip! But I would def whip it out right after the dye rises if I was you and see if that helps any

Shleepymummy · 31/08/2022 06:32

Morning all! How’s all the testing going? I got a blank circle on digital yesterday and flashing smiley today. But cheap opks are so weak. It’s a new brand for me and I’m not loving them. Got 3 cheapies left from another brand which I might start trying. Thinking DTD tomorrow, Friday, Saturday? Or do I start tonight? I just know we always run out of steam, or I get too sore (tmi sorry) so don’t want to start baby dancing too early 😂

Hannargh · 31/08/2022 07:52

@Shleepymummy morning! No opk rise for me yet, and temps just hooping around doing their own thing so I'm hoping things will just happen quickly towards the weekend, rather than draw themselves out this time (and CD21 is already pretty late for ovulation). I use easy@home ones and they seem to catch the lh rise for me, but also I've never been pregnant so who knows?
How quickly do you normally get a rise? My mental dtd plan is Tues, Thurs and then Sat and Sun assuming it all ties in. I'm also conscious of not starting too early. We did 5 days in a row one cycle and it was a bit much 😅

eleveneleven11 · 31/08/2022 08:45

@Shleepymummy heeyyy! hope you're good :) i've done opks and nothing on them just yet but i expected that. it was a little darker today than yesterday. i've never used the digitals before - do you get on with them? i've heard really mixed things!
if you run out of steam maybe try every other day? so maybe today, friday and then maybe saturday too if you can - see how it goes with the strip tests. i think that's what we're going to do! x

Shleepymummy · 31/08/2022 10:57

@Hannargh yes using easy home but they seem really weak so far. I’ll keep with it, maybe it’ll get stronger in an day or so. I’ll use my other cheap ones from tomorrow.
good you normally get a ride, hopefully you’ll get a rise soon. I think mine is usually day or 2 of before it’s stronger and then day off it does go dark. I’ll persevere! Good DTD plan, I’ll speak to DH tonight and make a plan…..romantic😂
@eleveneleven11 I like the digital ones, I normally get a day or two of blank, a day or 2 of flashy then a solid. I duno it just feels like a nice steady rise. I’m guna try my other cheap opks tomorrow. Yea that’s an idea, today, Friday night, and Saturday. 4 days really doesn’t seem like that much work and yet when we get round to it, it really is 😂

do you guys ever test in afternoon? Jsut mornings? Digital ones you can only use in morning really as it needs first urine.

eleveneleven11 · 31/08/2022 11:02

@Shleepymummy @Hannargh just laughing to myself about us agreeing on a DTD schedule together hahaha. last month we DTD 8 times and the last 3 or 4 times were on consecutive days and honestly by the last 2 times it was so exhausting. and probably unnecessary as here we are no better off for it hahaha.

i always test in the mornings. in the past few months i've only tested every other day too and have always been lucky enough to catch a rise, but this month i'm testing more as i'm not measuring bbt.

Hannargh · 31/08/2022 11:08

@Shleepymummy @eleveneleven11 I've been trying out different times over the last few months and my darkest line each time seems to come around 2pm. I'd read for the easy@home ones that it's better to test between 12-6pm as it lh builds up whilst you sleep but doesn't appear in your urine until later in the day, but I suspect it also differs for each person too.

Yeah I think you can dtd every day or just one day and it won't necessarily improve your chances either way - I'll have to take the zen 'what will be will be' attitude and assume as long as it's all go around the right time then something might stick.

eleveneleven11 · 31/08/2022 14:31

@Hannargh that's interesting about lh not appearing in urine until later in the day! i didn't know that. the past few months I've done it on usually my second pee of the day somewhere between 9.30-10.30am. this month i've been doing it first thing as i've been going to the office. i might switch it up over the next few days and see!

yes, last month my view was lets cover ALL bases and then we'll know we gave it our best shot haha. but this month i'm definitely feeling more like just focusing on the small window and having the 'what will be will be' attitude!

Hannargh · 31/08/2022 19:05

@eleveneleven11 it's also so hard to tell whether a 48 recharge time is better or whether just to crack on with things in case you miss something. Who can say?!

eleveneleven11 · 31/08/2022 20:47

@Hannargh yeah i don't think there is a right or wrong! i think a 48 hour recharge is a good thing though if it's getting a bit exhausting :)

Hannargh · 31/08/2022 21:03

@eleveneleven11 well after all that I did an opk test this evening, as I noticed it was going up this afternoon, and I'll probably peak tomorrow. Now my scheduling is slightly thrown out 😅

TheCakeIsALie18 · 31/08/2022 21:08

Hey ladies. Just catching up... I was super ill yesterday. Not morning sickness but I think I may have picked up a 24hr stomach bug or eaten something off.

Soo looking at your messages about opks...

I used FMU for the first 3 days of opk testing then I started testing twice per day because LH levels usually peak for most women between 2pm and 6pm. So if you're only testing in the mornings it's quite possible you could miss your peak if you only have a short peak window.

I hope you all get your peaks soon ❤️❤️ xxxx
