WingingIt09 · 25/07/2022 14:45

Hi ladies, we're onto thread 5! I'm afraid I've completely lost track of the list since I took a break off Mumsnet.... so let's make an updated one!

Roll call for those

  • TTC graduates.... pregnant ladies who are you and when are you due? Hope you're all doing well
  • Actively trying.... what cycle are we all in? Any particular plans for this next one?
  • Waiting to TTC.... what month are you planning on starting?

Thats amazing @WingingIt09 ! A nice solid line now.

Dreamingof3 · 27/08/2022 09:08

Great line on that one @WingingIt09 ❤️

BritishDesiGirl · 27/08/2022 14:18

Well l'm out this month. AF due Monday. Couldn't resist taking a test was negative. Feel relief .

I'm going to order some clear blue Ovulation tests. I'm finding the easymom inaccurate.

Would to hear peoples experience with clear by blue.

BritishDesiGirl · 27/08/2022 15:44

** ClearBlue

LucyLoopyLu · 27/08/2022 20:22

Such a good line progression @WingingIt09 !

it's all looking good so really hoping this is a sticky one for you 🤞

I'm about 4dpo now and feeling like I have a lot less hope now than in previous cycles but I think that's only natural on cycle 5. Another friend's pregnancy announcement today 🙄

We DTD every other day in the fertile window this time and I also used preseed. Not sure what else we can do.

PinkButtercups · 28/08/2022 00:27

That's so good @WingingIt09 strong too! Maybe more then one 👀.

EdinburghGirl1 · 28/08/2022 07:21

@BritishDesiGirl sorry to hear that. I'm also waiting for AF. Probably due Wednesday. I use the CB ovulation sticks and really like them. Takes any guess work out. I use the purple ones that give flashing smiley in run up to ovulation them the static smiley peak reading. They are quite expensive but I got a prime day deal on them on Amazon

BritishDesiGirl · 28/08/2022 07:34

@EdinburghGirl1

Thankyou. Yes it's disappointing but onwards and upwards.

Would you be able to link the ClearBlue ones for me that you use please.

WingingIt09 · 28/08/2022 08:38

@PinkButtercups I hope not 😅 not sure I can cope with 4 kids. I would have loved twins first or second time around but not the third 😅

@BritishDesiGirl sorry to hear that. I've only ever used the cheap OPKs so no help with clear blue I'm afraid. Fingers crossed for next cycle for you

@lj2022 sorry only just seen this - think you've found it now? Sure I saw your name pop up ☺️
Doing ok thanks just really reflux-y and tired. Had a few waves of nausea but nothing as bad as my first (yet!) 6+1 and contemplating an early scan. How are you?

@WingingIt09 tests looking great 🥰

SarahShorty · 28/08/2022 09:54

@LucyLoopyLu it's so hard, isn't it? You're trying and then there's a pregnancy announcement. The thing that has helped me is to take a moment and think about the following:

  1. How long were they trying for?
  2. How many losses have they had before this pregnancy?

Even just asking those questions in your head makes you pause long enough to ignore the crappy feelings.

Some people are just more lucky than others and it sucks. But assuming no known issues, it will happen eventually. There's only so many months of unprotected shagging until an egg and sperm meet. I'm CD31, 10DPO today and I'm outright refusing to test until AF is late.

SarahShorty · 28/08/2022 09:55

My post above didn't format properly 🙄

lj2022 · 28/08/2022 10:20

@Tropicana1 yep I found it thanks! It's a very busy thread though quite overwhelming 😂Aw the reflux has been my worst I suffer quite bad normally anyway! Hopefully the nausea doesn't get too bad for you. My symptoms completely disappeared yesterday which has freaked me out a little and kind of hoping they come back. Went from feeling tired and being sick on Friday to nothing yesterday. Got my early scan on Thursday and it can't come quick enough for reassurance! Most of my friends have done early scans and are so glad they did them around 8/9 weeks so think they're definitely worthwhile!

DesertSnow · 28/08/2022 14:29

Line progression looks great @WingingIt09, congrats!

Sorry @BritishDesiGirl, hope you're ok. Fingers crossed for you this cycle!

@SarahShorty Thank you, your post really helps puts things in perspective, as you say we don't know a lot of other people's journeys. My friend is due to have her first baby next month - but she had three miscarriages last year. I know her journey, but to others it may just seem she's just happily and easily having a child. So many journeys are tough, and we don't know a lot of them.

I feel quite down today. I should be happy, AF has arrived which means we're officially on our first cycle ttc. But my luteal phase was 7 days. Over the last few months, my LP has been, 11, 10, 9 and now 7. I'm scared this means I don't have a chance. If anyone has any words of advice I would really appreciate it as I feel so lost and sad. Which perhaps is daft as we haven't even tried yet, but it's how I feel. I'm already on Vitamin C in an attempt to lengthen it.

SarahShorty · 28/08/2022 14:55

@DesertSnow I'm glad you found my post helpful xx Though I'm sorry you're having trouble with your LP. A quick Google suggests a lack of progesterone as that helps to maintain the endometrial lining. Doctors will often prescribe pills and/or pessaries to help lengthen the LP.

WingingIt09 · 28/08/2022 19:30

@DesertSnow I don't know if it's what made any difference but I had a short LP and was hypothesising that my progesterone/ issues with endometrial lining might be the reason behind my losses. This cycle I took vitamin B6 (50mg), vitamin C (1000mg) and vitamin E (400iu) on top of my usual supplement. I have also been taking 75mg aspirin since my positive test as advised by my GP. ' It starts with an egg' was a good read to find out info about different supplements.

@Nypie yeah same! Some friends have been talking about us all going on a girls holiday next summer but I keep thinking what if I get pregnant or have just had a baby? I guess I could just book if I may be able to get out of it if things change!

Good luck with this cycle!

DesertSnow · 29/08/2022 08:47

Thank you @SarahShorty and @WingingIt09, really appreciate your replies. I've booked an appointment with the GP and will try B6 and potentially Vit E in the meantime.

I'm also going to cut down on my exercise. I'm a bit of an addict, and think maybe I've been overdoing it in the run up to the wedding. (I do over 6 hours a week). Some googling suggests that the body turns progesterone into cortisol when you exercise too much. Naively, I thought that as long as I was ovulating, my exercise wasn't affecting my cycles, but research suggests it could definitely be a factor in my short LP. Feeling sad that I might have rubbished our chances ttc but at least now I have some steps to take.

WingingIt09 · 29/08/2022 10:48

I think this one is actually going to stick ❤️❤️ past the first hurdle anyway. My tests have been fading by now the last few times!

@WingingIt09 thats the line of dreams!! Amazing, still got everything crossed for you….except my legs as that wouldn’t help me 😂😂

The line progression is really good! 🤞🏼

SarahShorty · 29/08/2022 12:29

@WingingIt09 so happy for you! xx Can I ask what your symptoms are? I know early pregnancy and pre-menstrual symptoms are the same, though I just wonder if there is anything particular that stands out to you.

WingingIt09 · 29/08/2022 12:49

@SarahShorty I've been very bloated, tired and my breasts feel quite full and tingly. All of them are symptoms that I get in the week before AF is due so nothing stood out. The tingly breasts used to be a sure fire pregnancy one for me before I had my second daughter but now I get it every month. With my eldest I was nauseous from before my positive test, which is what had made me take one. Thankfully that's not hit yet with this one!

@WingingIt09 that progression is amazing! It's looking good for this one
