Hi ladies, we're onto thread 5! I'm afraid I've completely lost track of the list since I took a break off Mumsnet.... so let's make an updated one!

Roll call for those

  • TTC graduates.... pregnant ladies who are you and when are you due? Hope you're all doing well
  • Actively trying.... what cycle are we all in? Any particular plans for this next one?
  • Waiting to TTC.... what month are you planning on starting?

Hey all, back after a mini break. Period came with a vengence, was in hospital, rows with dp and the staff that I manage have been falling apart left right and centre so just did not have the time or capacity to keep up!

Cycle 2 cd9 for me so in my fertile week today. Throwing everything at it this cycle only have one more after this until we have to take a few months break.

@Bananatoast123 @dobby13 hoping its too early for you both, but you are right it will happen.

@Dreamingof3 soo happy for you!

@MichaelAngeloScreamedAtMe 👋👋 best of luck! How long did it take to conceive Dd?

@HeathenPlayingHouse hope you're okay, that sounds like a hard situation it won't always be bad days and of course you are going to be concerned about the needs of your child but it is also about you and your partners needs and wants and what you can handle as a family. From my job I know so many parents struggle especially when waiting for the diagnosis and support so please be kind to yourself!

Morning all. Is this what I think it is? I can't tell. I also can't breathe. I know FRERs are really bad with giving indents, but the shadow has colour in it.

@dobby13 ahhh I can definitely see something. And here you were thinking you were out. Seems like several ladies are getting bfp recently with very little symptoms and thinking they are out

Answered on your other thread but looks like an early positive to me! 🤞🏼.

Bananatoast123 · 21/08/2022 08:08

@dobby13 i can see something!! Fingers crossed for a good progression for you over the next few days!

MichaelAngeloScreamedAtMe · 21/08/2022 08:41

@Nypie I think it was 3 cycles in the end? It was the first cycle we tried SMEP and it worked a charm! Don't think I have the energy for it this time around though Confused we'll just have to see how things go!

MichaelAngeloScreamedAtMe · 21/08/2022 08:42

@dobby13 I can see something! Keeping my fingers crossed for you Flowers

Theawkwardblonde · 21/08/2022 08:43

@Dreamingof3 glad your scan went well! How are you symptom wise? I'm still crippled with sickness and gp won't do anything until I'm 12 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️

Jade57 · 21/08/2022 08:59

Hi girls I am cycle day 8 today and first month using OPK. Do these look ok? Day 5,6,7,8. Im a bit clueless to it all. I know it's not positive yet but my cycles aren't regular and I was wondering when you think my peak would be?

Dreamingof3 · 21/08/2022 09:10

@dobby13 that looks like an early positive to me!

@Theawkwardblonde I've still got awful sickness, my gp gave me cyclizine which is helping with the actual vomiting most days but still feeling nauseous and not able to eat normally!

My scan photos are awful 😅 very awkward baby and she also said that the scar tissue can sometimes make it harder to get clear images...but worries she was just too polite to tell me it's because I'm fat 🤣🤣 this is really zoomed in but you can kind of make out a baby shape

Theawkwardblonde · 21/08/2022 09:12

@Dreamingof3 I wonder why my gp is reluctant to prescribe anything. I'm being sick around 5 times a day. I've also lost almost a stone since I found out I was pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️

tryingtryinggone · 21/08/2022 09:23

@dobby13 can definitely see something!!

stupidly caved this morning on 9DPO and very much negative on a FRER. Hoping it’s just too early but in reality thinking I’m out again this month. Period due on Thursday but hoping it comes sooner just so I can move on sooner. Onto cycle 6 😭

Dreamingof3 · 21/08/2022 09:24

@Theawkwardblonde can you try and speak to a different Dr? That sounds awful! I've lost about 8lbs so far (have plenty to lose though 😅)

SarahShorty · 21/08/2022 10:43

@Dreamingof3 very happy for you!! 🎉
@dobby13 that's a positive! Congratulations!! 🎉

I'm 3DPO today and not particularly hopeful. I didn't follow SMEP this time after 3 cycles of it failed, and did it in a similar way to the cycle that ended in a CP, ie DTD on the high days.

I've fired off an email to the fertility clinic to have a follow-up chat with the consultant about DH's numbers. Bless him, he's still really upset 😔 he thinks he's half a man and I keep trying to tell him he's not.

You really never know just how hard it is to conceive your first baby until you start trying. It's hitting us now.

Bananatoast123 · 21/08/2022 11:59

@tryingtryinggone keeping fingers crossed for you still and hopefully you get a similar outcome like @dobby13 !

think my AF is coming now as had a bit of spotting this morning and it’s due tomorrow! Nevermind! Onto cycle 7 🤦🏼‍♀️

@SarahShorty it is difficult I agree! Keep staying strong and positive - it’ll happen for us all ❤️ We’ve got to manifest seeing the two lines

EdinburghGirl1 · 21/08/2022 16:26

@SarahShorty ttc definitely can be challenging. Good idea to have a follow up appointment but fingers crossed this month is works

@Bananatoast123 oh no I'm sorry to hear this.

@Theawkwardblonde @Dreamingof3 sorry your both suffering with such bad sickness. That sounds pretty awful. Fingers crossed it eases up soon for you both @Theawkwardblonde your think a doctor would prescribe something if you're sick that much.

@Jade57 it's hard to tell when as can peak quickly. It is getting darker so you're on your way but it needs to be as dark or darker than control to be the peak. Do you know how long your cycles usually are?

Jade57 · 21/08/2022 16:34

@EdinburghGirl1 I came off the pill in November and my cycles still aren't regular. Can be between 26 and 34 days. This is our first month TTC so I'm still trying to get my head round testing for ovulation. I have started taking folic acid, b12, vitamin D and C. Just hoping to get my body ready. We have 2 children already but they wernt planned so I feel so clueless to it all

EdinburghGirl1 · 21/08/2022 16:49

@Jade57 ah ok. That means your ovulation could really vary too from CD12 to CD20 roughly. Doing the OPK should definitely help pinpoint it. Just keep testing until it's as dark as the control line

Jade57 · 21/08/2022 16:51

@EdinburghGirl1 why is it all so confusing lol. School always taught us if you have unprotected sex you get pregnant, job done! Lol! I feel like I need a degree to understand my own reproductive system Confused

EdinburghGirl1 · 21/08/2022 16:55

@Jade57 yes exactly. I think a lot of people would agree. You have unprotected sex you can get pregnant. And yes it can happen but many women spend many months trying to get pregnant and timing everything right and still doesn't work. I learned so much about my body etc when ttc #1. How old are your kids?

Jade57 · 21/08/2022 17:03

@EdinburghGirl1 17 and 8. I had my first quite young and completely unexpected so I was so careful after that. Got pregnant with my 2nd while on the pill after a course on antibiotics. We are a bit concerned about the age gap and have decided if it doesn't happen within 6 months we will just accept it isn't meant to be. We're still young 33 and 34 but have spent so long prevented pregnancy were confused by it all. Do you have any children yet?

EdinburghGirl1 · 21/08/2022 17:06

@Jade57 well considering you fell pregnant so easily before you never know. It might be the same again. Yes I have a 5 year old daughter with my ex husband but this would be my partner's first

Jade57 · 21/08/2022 17:08

@EdinburghGirl1 how long have you been trying? Sending you lots and lots of baby dust ❤️❤️❤️

EdinburghGirl1 · 21/08/2022 17:28

@Jade57 thank you. This is our 3rd cycle. With DD it took 4 cycles so hoping it's something similar

Jade57 · 21/08/2022 17:30

@EdinburghGirl1 fingers crossed for u! What CD are you on?
