Hi ladies, we're onto thread 5! I'm afraid I've completely lost track of the list since I took a break off Mumsnet.... so let's make an updated one!

Roll call for those

  • TTC graduates.... pregnant ladies who are you and when are you due? Hope you're all doing well
  • Actively trying.... what cycle are we all in? Any particular plans for this next one?
  • Waiting to TTC.... what month are you planning on starting?

@SVC11 that gives me hope after my 9dpo cheapie bfn today 😂

SarahShorty · 07/08/2022 11:20

@SVC11 massive congratulations! xx There is no need to feel guilty in the slightest. Some people are just less fortunate. Please please please don't feel bad. This is your moment and you should celebrate. I'm very happy for you and I wish you a sticky bean and an uneventful, healthy pregnancy xx

@Bananatoast123 @Dreamingof3 thanks both xx Yeah it's rubbish. DH and I are aiming to do the exact same as we did in the cycle that ended in a CP, which is to just hit surge day and ovulation day and pray that one of the few fast swimmers that isn't dead meets the egg. In the meantime, he's looking for ways to test hormones as low testosterone can cause low sperm. We really don't want to go down the IVF/ICSI but we have it as an option if push comes to shove. TTC is something of a science project and I can't believe how much we've learned about fertility in just a few months. It's such a rollercoaster.

Bananatoast123 · 07/08/2022 13:49

@SarahShorty I hear you and you sound super positive which is a good thing! Positivity and manifestation is key (I like to think)! We are on cycle 6, and we are 27&28 years old and I never thought we’d be 6 months in and no BFP yet! I know it can take years and I keep trying to tell myself it’s just not our time yet rather than something is wrong! My OH has been doing ice baths / ice cold showers as he’s been reading how it boosts testosterone in males and helps with sperm quality (I think the cold helps their home) 🤣 - just incase this gives him something to try! It also helps with stress and the immune system too! I also have to echo I’ve noticed his appetite for sex increase too since starting them!

If all else fails, we’ve told ourselves in January we will go get tested etc!

@SVC11 congratulations this is super exciting! Xx

LucyLoopyLu · 07/08/2022 13:51

So sorry about the bad news @SarahShorty

I don't really know much about it but are there many things your OH can do to improve sperm count / motility etc.? Can diet help or is it just things like testosterone?
I am sending you lots of sympathy and hope you're ok

LucyLoopyLu · 07/08/2022 13:52

@SVC11 congrats! I can definitely see the line especially for 10dpo looks good! Hope the sickness was a one off for you x

HeathenPlayingHouse · 07/08/2022 14:34

@SVC11 Congratulations!

@SarahShorty I'm so sorry it's not better news ❤️

Welshgal85 · 07/08/2022 16:20

Eurgh feeling pretty fed up atm, we’ve DTD twice this week but before peak fertility and DP doesn’t want to do it again this week. My peak will be tomorrow so it’s a bit frustrating not to DTD again, I know there is still a chance I guess but a small one so will have to try again next month!

WingingIt09 · 07/08/2022 16:20

@SVC11 congratulations!

@SarahShorty so sorry it's not better news xx

@SVC11 - that's a line! Congratulations on your BFP ❤️❤️

Currently on CD10, keeping everything crossed this month. Started OPK yesterday, and have our game plan in place. Hoping that August is a lucky month for us all 🤞🏻

Houseelf90 · 07/08/2022 16:27

@SVC11 thats a great line!! Congratulations! 🎉

dobby13 · 07/08/2022 16:29

@SarahShorty - so sorry to hear your news, and I hope your OH isn't beating himself up (fertility issues absolutely do not make someone a failure - it's not talked about enough.) Fingers crossed for both Plan A, and Plan B (if you get there) xx

lj2022 · 07/08/2022 17:51

@SarahShorty I'm so sorry to read that news and I can only imagine how your husband must be feeling but he's not a failure at all and there are things that can help and as you said you can now start treatment earlier rather than waiting another year! Hope you're both doing okay

@SVC11 amazing news congratulations 🎉

Nypie · 07/08/2022 23:36

@SarahShorty sorry things are crap! I am a plan girl through and through and that sounds like a great one tp me!

@SVC11 look at that clear as day line! Congratulations!!!

Tested negative today at 9dpo temp leaving my last test till Wednesday but feeling out. I think I may have progesterone own problems so bought some vitamins

AJAO · 07/08/2022 23:59

Hey everyone! Finally decided to comment and join in with the chats. TTC can be so lonely for me and my husband. We're on Cycle 8 so really hopeful this time around. We had a miscarrige on Cycle 3 and feeling really down that it just isn't happening for us again. My husband and I are hoping to feel a little less alone on this journey. We're both 26.

dobby13 · 08/08/2022 07:58

Welcome @AJAO - so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. These groups are amazing - not only because there are some super knowledgable people, but also because it's a safe space to vent and talk. ❤️

AJAO · 08/08/2022 08:48

Thank you @dobby13 slept easier last night just knowing we weren't bottling it up anymore and that we have let it out. 9dpo today but no symptoms yet. 😔

Dreamingof3 · 08/08/2022 09:12

@AJAO I'm sorry about your miscarriage ,I hope that we can be of some support here!

I finally called the drs today 🙈 8 weeks by last period and have a call booked tomorrow to discuss and get a midwife referral

PinkButtercups · 08/08/2022 09:22

Congratulations to the new BFP's and good luck to those still trying.

Sorry to hear about some losses ♥️.

We had a bit of a scare on Friday although I'm only 19 weeks I've been feeling the twins properly since about 16 weeks. Phoned the hospital in the evening as hadn't felt them move that day. They asked me to go in to have a listen in and MW could only find one heartbeat, twice. She was so lovely and told me not to panic she's calling the doctor round to give me a scan. Doctor was actually in a C-section but come straight to me after they were finished. Scan done and thankfully both babies were absolutely fine! Kicking each other as usual 🤣. They were all so lovely I was in and out within an hour and got put in my own little room as soon as I went in. They were all so reassuring and the doctor even printed me out scan pictures ♥️. I didn't even realise a portable US was even a thing Blush.

PinkButtercups · 08/08/2022 09:25

My twins really really don't like having their picture taken and this is the best she could get. She tried to hard to get both of them in together but they were having none of it! 🤣.

WingingIt09 · 08/08/2022 09:50

@Nypie what vitamins have you bought? I've started taking vitamins C, E and B6 as I'm also wondering if I have low progesterone and that may be a cause for the early losses .

On another note I'm in such a dilemma about what to do now... One of my siblings wedding is next May, which my next two cycles of due dates could cause a problem with.... one due date is 3 weeks before the wedding so with my history of going overdue I'd be 1 week postpartum at the wedding. The other due date would be roughly 4 days after the wedding (obviously depending on when AF arrives this cycle). The wedding is nearby but with both of those dates I'm risking missing the wedding if I'm in labour/still in hospital after labour, which I would be absolutely gutted about. On the other hand, I really don't want to have to stop trying for 2 months!

Thank you so much for all the congratulations and well wishes. Just so everyone knows I had an 8 day luteal phase the month before we conceived and I usually have a 9/10 day luteal phase so it is possible on a shorter phase. I know miscarriage is more likely with a shorter luteal phase so I will be doing everything to try and keep myself healthy. Any tips greatly appreciated... I was taking vit b6, folic acid and coq10 vitamins to help lengthen my luteal phase and build my uterine lining. Just thought I'd let people know what I was doing in case it helps. 🤞 For a sticky bean, let the anxiety begin xx

SVC11 · 08/08/2022 12:47

Ooo and just like that I'm bleeding. So looks like I'm heading for a chemical as seems like a lot for implantation bleeding or anything. Onto the next cycle I suppose.

dobby13 · 08/08/2022 12:53

@WingingIt09 - oh no 😞 that's not a fun dilemma. Have you spoken with your OH about it? Me and my OH are actually due to get married next February (3rd time lucky, thanks Covid) and we talked about holding off until later - I've just accepted that if I did fall pregnant this month or next (🤞🏻) I would be fairly pregnant on the big day 😂

@SVC11 - I'm so, so sorry, and am sending love and hugs. Please be gentle on yourself ❤️

WingingIt09 · 08/08/2022 12:54

@SVC11 I'm so sorry. I know all too well the heartbreak of a chemical. Sending you huge hugs

@dobby13 DH is happy to be led by me tbh so it's up to me to make the decision.
