How long did folks wait to TTC following miscarriage? DH keen to get straight on it, but I want to wait a couple of weeks? I'm a bit anxious about it happening again.

Indianna2006 · 27/07/2022 19:47

@theblueflowers @LuckyMoonstone

I find it how surprising how they bang on about this 28 cycle malarkey. And actually I think hardly any women have that!

I used to prior to my DD always 27/28 day cycle.

I am now a 25/26 day cycle girl. Ovulate CD13 like 8 of of 10 times and only deviate from that on odd occasion by like a day an that’s it.

but I’ve seen vast inbetween. Much longer cycles at 30 plus seem much more common now tbh and more the norm and also not being able to pinpoint ovulation so easily also seems normal from what I read from most.

just surprising how different it is and how you really do need to know your cycle to get pregnant rather than just thinking CD14 is fertile. W inch is totally wrong for loads of ppl!

Indianna2006 · 27/07/2022 19:58

@EsmeSusanOgg we just went for it. I had stopped bleeding and had no pain and knew that I’d ovulated as I feel it so didn’t need to worry about dating worries as such.

think they suggest now there is no reason not to.

theblueflowers · 27/07/2022 20:03

@EsmeSusanOgg you have to do what is right for you- if you don't feel up to it, then take your time. I know our partners are involved, but their bodies are not going through it!

Personally, we got straight back on it once I got a negative pregnancy test.I felt that I just needed to be doing something, but it's different for everyone. I fell pregnant a second time on the cycle straight after my first miscarriage, but that also ended in a MMC. The doctors told me repeatedly that this was not the reason why the second one happened, and it is looking like it's plain bad luck. I did feel like a bad dream going through it again so soon though. I also hated that I felt like I had been pregnant for 6 months but had nothing to show for it!

MrsCristiano · 27/07/2022 20:06

@EsmeSusanOgg for me I waited to first AF because of a tiny amount of tissue still left which epu said would come away without management and I was still spotting ever now and again. It's hard though the memory of it all still haunts me xx

OPK this afternoon is pretty dark so I'm assuming ovulation is v close x

LuckyMoonstone · 27/07/2022 20:30

Urgh rubbish OPK again tonight! I’ve got good cm though, cervix feels perfect, even some mild cramps which I normally get at ovulation… where is my surge?????!!!!! 😆

EsmeSusanOgg · 27/07/2022 21:12

Thanks all for the advice. I've stopped bleeding (I had a D&C straight after the miscarriage happened as I was bleeding a lot still). I'm waiting the two weeks before sex or swimming (Sunday) but I wanted to check ovulation, make sure I feel 100% before trying? Just a couple of weeks. DH is onboard with whatever I want. But I wondered if this makes sense?

pangolin84 · 27/07/2022 22:23

@EsmeSusanOgg I had surgical management back at the beginning of June and the consultant told me they advise waiting for one cycle before trying again but did say that was only for dating purposes. So it seems there’s no real medical reason to wait that long.
For me it was more of a psychological barrier to make the positive decision to try again. Losing a pregnancy is a massive deal and is truly heartbreaking. The next stage of dealing with it and feeling ready to try again varies a lot between women, so just take as much time as you need. Whatever you decide has to be right for you, nobody else.

bunnykins123 · 28/07/2022 08:22

@Indianna2006 welcome back! I think we all feel the AF slump quite drastically. Especially when hormones like playing the 'am I, aren't I' game 😂

@MrsCristiano oh Lordy, 1.30am is late! I think I would have been fuming by that point 😂

@FfayeN good luck with the fertilily! I bought one and honestly struggled to get the thing up the foof. I really think there is a knack to it, which I defo did not seem to master!

@theblueflowers the mess with prog is better if you do it up the 'back passage' - it's absorbed better and you don't get so much discharge. Awh I'd say do whatever you want to do, not what he wants to do. I think also consider how you'd feel getting a bfn (but really hoping it's a bfp!) and ruining your zen holiday.

@Astar21 I had fox poo on my door step today. Maybe that's as lucky as a white feather 🤔

@LuckyMoonstone how are you doing today? Any progress?

Astar21 · 28/07/2022 08:28

@bunnykins123 let's hope so 🤣🤣🤣

LuckyMoonstone · 28/07/2022 09:44

@bunnykins123 no not really! All the typical O signs for me- ewcm, mild cramps, good cervical position… but I can’t get my opks to go more than about 0.15! Next one will be about quarter past 10 before I go out but that’ll only be 3 hours since the morning one

Mabelledox · 28/07/2022 09:53

Can anyone that temps help me figure out what day I ovulated? I got a positive peak ovulation on the clear blues Friday evening so assumed I would have ovulated Saturday or Sunday but does this show I actually ovulated Monday?? So confused! Would appreciate any help! ☺️

TTC after Miscarriage Thread 8
mummatara · 28/07/2022 10:03

@Mabelledox I think you ovulated on CD16 Sunday. You have three clear higher temps after that date though the first is close to cover line so it's probably discounted that and why's it's put your ovulation as Monday. Some of these chart algorithms are weird. Mine has just changed my ovulation date to 24th for some unknown reason I didn't even get a peak until after that date 🙄 I know I ovulated yesterday

emhope · 28/07/2022 10:10

@EsmeSusanOgg I had D&C and we decided to try straight away even though they recommended waiting 1 cycle. Think it did take my body a while to get back to normal though as that first cycle was really short (AF came only 3 weeks after the D&C) and not even sure when I ovulated as OPKs were all over the place. Looking back though I’m not sure I was emotionally ready to have started trying again that soon after as it is such a devastating thing to have to come to terms with ❤️

emhope · 28/07/2022 10:11

@Mabelledox cant help too much with the temps as I don’t temp but I would say looks like ovulation on Sunday 🙂

mummatara · 28/07/2022 10:35

@EsmeSusanOgg I had a D&C and we decided to try again straight away the doctor didn't say anything about waiting. It did take me 6 weeks to get a negative pregnancy test but I tracked with opks and temps straight after. I didn't ovulate that cycle but had a period 5 weeks after and have just ovulated. Only you can decide when you're feeling ready. I wanted to try again straight away as hard as it is sometimes thinking about what could have been I want to be pregnant and have a sibling for my son. Time also isn't on my side I want at least two more

LuckyMoonstone · 28/07/2022 11:11

Well this AM it was 0.14 and 3 hours later it was 0.17 but I personally think it looks darker than 0.17. Tiny bit hopeful of a peak later, slightly more hopeful of a peak tomorrow. And my temps are nice and low which is good, that’s normally how they are before O, not crazy like they were last week

LuckyMoonstone · 28/07/2022 11:12

Sorry for just moaning and complaining all the time 😅

LuckyMoonstone · 28/07/2022 11:13

@Mabelledox ov usually comes before rise, so I’d say sat or sun. So when I get a positive test, temp stays low the next day (ov) then a rise the day after that

mummatara · 28/07/2022 11:13

@LuckyMoonstone oh that's promising 🤞🏼 everything's crossed you get your peak today or tomorrow. All the other symptoms point to it so it must happen soon

Astar21 · 28/07/2022 11:33

I had my peak yesterday morning, but then even more EWCM last night. Would you say Ovulation day is most likely today? I don't temp so know I can't pin point it exactly.

@LuckyMoonstone fingers crossed it won't be too long for you now 🙏🏼

mummatara · 28/07/2022 11:36

@Astar21 if it was me I would use today as my ovulation day

LuckyMoonstone · 28/07/2022 11:56

@Astar21 yeah me too, today

bunnykins123 · 28/07/2022 12:01

@Mabelledox I would say CD16 too but I'm not very good at understanding temping! I sacked mine off this month as the high temps threw everything out for me 🤦‍♀️

@LuckyMoonstone that sounds promising! Fingers crossed you get a juicy line tomorrow!

Skylark1990 · 28/07/2022 12:09

@Mabelledox I'd say you ovulated Sunday 16 or Monday 17th - Monday to be on safe side as usually there is a proper jump after ovulation. I'll post my chart later when I get a moment to compare :)
