Hi everyone,

I thought I would make a thread for those who are trying to conceive their first child.

I love reading about everyone's journey, but sometimes I just need a space where I can talk to others who are dreaming of their first bundle of joy 💫

I am 31 and on cycle #8. My periods were classed as irregular but since having the coil removed, they seem to have settled and I now have 30-33 day cycles. I threw my OPKs in the bin this month, they were stressing me out and after DTD on my peaks but getting AF's just upset me even more. I am hoping to take a more relaxed approach from now on.

@Loouloo do you check for it or is it visible in your underwear/on the tissue? I had it once at the beginning of ttc, not knowing what it was. I have not had it again.

@Loouloo I do notice ewcm at times when im paying attention, i did this cycle.

@SFrancis1 its visible on the tissue. I’ve also started to check my cervix, it really gives a good idea of where I am in the cycle, then I also notice it.

I get EWCM about one or two days a month. Usually notice it when I wipe, I don't tend to feel for it deliberately.

Was gonna say and forgot - I'm out for this month. AF absolutely killing me today.

I did have a day or two this week after I tested negative where I was quite upset but I think it's because I was hoping on some level that we would be lucky and it would happen quickly for us. I know it's still early days though

I did a FRER and wondfo this morning. FRER was bfn wondfo has a pink line, but it seems thinner than the control

I’m sorry to hear that @carsty! Do something nice this weekend that you can’t do while pregnant, have a glass of wine (if you drink alcohol) and a bit of cheese

@LucyLoopyLu i completely understand that feeling! I felt like that too after cycle three! You really hope you’d be one of the lucky ones that got pregnant on the first try, and it’s hard when that doesn’t happen

Hey ladies, does anyone actually know anyone that’s had implantation bleeding? I’m CD 23 and I’ve had some light pink discharge, my periods not due until next Thursday so seems a bit early for my period!

@ChloeN I don't know anyone personally but see a lot of women saying they've had it!

Trying not to get excited, my nipples seem darker and a bit bigger. My boobs are burning at the sides which they've never done.
I'm telling DF tonight about my positives so if it's a chemical, he can comfort me.
I hope this is real.
I'm going to get bloods done on Monday or Tuesday if AF doesn't come over the weekend

Hello! I’m on cycle 1…. currently I think 9DPO. Since Monday I’ve been having cramps, similar to mild period cramps on and off all day…. My period isn’t due until next Thursday which seems odd (unless it’s coming early!!) usually I only have cramps a couple of days before. I want to try hold off testing and see if AF arrives but the wait is killing me 🙈😂

@Gizzy93 did you tell your DF? It must be hard being in limbo, not truly understanding where you stand in the journey. My fingers are crossed you get positive news 🤞

@SJ1994 Welcome to the thread. The ttw can be hard and symptom spotting doesn't help, but we all do it 🤦‍♀️ Fingers crossed for you..keep us posted.

@ChloeN I have read about some ladies experiencing implantation bleeds. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

I am heading into my TWW. I did not test OPKs this month, so I have no idea, but I already feel more relaxed. I used to stress that we DTD at the right time, so it must have worked this cycle.....only for AF to arrive. I am not putting pressure on myself during this cycle and accepting that I cannot control this journey.

@SFrancis1 I did end up telling him. He's excited but also very worried it's another chemical so he doesn't want to get his hopes up until I've had it confirmed with bloods and stuff, which I won't do until Monday. Just want to make sure af doesn't show up and I've stressed myself for nothing

@Gizzy93 I never considered how stressful trying to conceive would be....I was thinking of the fun! But it definitely takes a toll on our emotions. I am glad you told your partner and that you have the support network at home in him. Good luck with your doctor's appointment 💖 we are all here for you.

Does anyone take Evening Primrose Oil to help with CM? I have just been reading up on it and might try it next cycle.

Sorry to hear it is a chemical but I guess it happens!! It is maybe more common than we know about...

Very good finding!! have never heard about this oil, how does it help with CM?

I am pretty sure I’m out as well for this month, it’s so deflating. I tried to be relaxed this month and not track and not POAS before AF was due as I’ve found this more upsetting previously. I was due for AF to arrive anytime from Thursday, it’s now Saturday so I was getting excited this morning, frantically searching threads for success stories for women with ‘no symptoms’ in early pregnancy as I don’t feel any different. This afternoon I have started spotting and have some mild cramping so think AF will be here by tomorrow which will be day 27 (usually I have 24-26 day cycles with the occasional 27 day 1-2 x per year). Does anyone else just feel gutted when AF arrives?

I'm feeling really deflated this morning & a little frustrated. Last cycle I ovulated day 13 of 26 day cycle - that was our first cycle TTC after DH finally convinced me it was time to try. 26-28 is my normal cycle range. If my cycle is the same this month it means I will ovulate next weekend when he has volunteered to take a 5 day deployment overseas (perfectly timed over the fertile window) He then comes home for a week before deploying until the end of September. We then might get one cycle before he deploys again until Christmas!
I feel bad for being frustrated by all the deployments & it's just part of his job. But if he knew these deployments were coming why get me started on this journey. I've spoken to him about it but I'm just not sure he quite gets how I'm a bit upset by it all!

@db91 if you don’t already could you start tracking your cycle with opk or bbt? Then dtd just before and after. You never know you might ovulate earlier or later.
