Hey all.
I’ve just started ttc again after taking a break for my own sanity for a while. Though time out was probably not a wise plan at my age!
I’m very similar to you @theleavesfall . Had my ds almost four years ago, when I was 40 and trying again now. Know what you mean about getting concerned with increasing age, but then do know it is possible.
I’m also like you @Iusedtobedontcall can become pregnant but don’t seem to have good eggs, so have had a lot of losses.
After the last one got well into ‘it starts with the egg’. Have spent a fortune on supplements and done alright at cutting down on toxins and increasing exercise. Really struggle with improving my diet though. Anyway back trying now so will see if it has helped!
I think I’m about 10 dpo. Promised myself I wasn’t going to get into the symptom spotting/early testing but totally have. So far no bfp. Had almost forgot how consuming the waiting is.

theleavesfall · 14/03/2023 22:41

@Iusedtobedontcall I'm going to try some vitamin d supplements as I just re read some notes when I was pregnant with DD1 and it mentioned I was low in vitamin D...but of course I was pregnant then!
It can hurt...
I just find the pre conceive multi vitamins give me stomach cramps...

@pcmod here with you! I know exactly what you mean that it's all consuming. I left it this month, DH was away with work so wasn't much chance...
So looking ahead to this next cycle from Monday...im getting the OPKs out and seeing how that goes.
I also use Flo app, just to record stuff. Im not sure it's predicted ovulation is correct. I have regular 25 day cycles...

pcmod · 15/03/2023 19:29

@theleavesfall ah that’s frustrating when life gets in the way of ttc. Good you’re all ready and prepped for this month. It’s strange really the tww seems long but the months seem to come round fast. Good luck with this month.

Kelb79 · 19/03/2023 21:55

Hey all ❤️
I hope those of you in the UK haven’t been too triggered by Mother’s Day ❤️ sending love to you all.
I’ve been horribly close to tears all day. Spent it with MIL, OH making lots of effort to make her day great without really noticing or acknowledging that I was feeling pretty shit about it 😐
I was surprised about how emotional I was about it until we got home and I noticed some spotting. Followed swiftly by that tell tale lower abdomen weirdness….
AF approaching! I hadn’t even realised - I’ve been paying so little attention to it. I’ve got so damn bored of TTC that I’ve actually stopped caring 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄
and so this will move us forward in cycle 50 (!!!) of TTC. Yep. I counted 😐
damn that’s depressing.
but, on a more positive note… we go to Spain again next week to start the DE IVF ball rolling.
hope you’re all doing better than I am today ❤️❤️❤️❤️

TraceyTarotReader · 20/03/2023 06:46

@Kelb79 oh how brave for you to make sure your MIL had a good day and sort of put your feelings aside you such a nice person . Sorry for your tears it is hard .

im quite excised for your IVF JOURNEY ❤️

as for me I think I have another ear infection had antibiotics 4 weeks ago and the pain and throbbing started 5 days ago couldn’t get to see my doctor cause there all still treating the doctors surgery like we all still have covid so I have to phone today to see if I can get in .

I also went shopping Saturday and forgot to pick some opks up but ya know what I wasn’t botherd by it and I’m not going to use them this month less stress I’m just temping to confirm ovulation but I know what you mean about giving up I gave up so many times in the 18 yrs of ttc it’s only been the last 3 yrs of ntnp and if it happens it happens which I thought I was last month with my positive hpt at 9dpo which didn’t progress and af came on time but it’s all down to fate and god and luck .

let me know how your journey goes ❤️

pcmod · 20/03/2023 11:15

Sorry to hear you had such a tough time. Mother’s Day can be horrible, without the added hormone horror of an approaching AF. The world is really not sensitive to the struggles of those who are trying or have lost. Very fortunate that it is quite a low key event in our family so nothing too brutal to deal with. No wonder it’s emotional as well after 50 cycles, that going to wear anybody down.
Thats amazing you’re off to Spain next week though, really exciting progress. Hope that all goes smoothly for you. The pace it seems to move once it gets started always seem impressive, fingers crossed next year’s mother day is a very different experience for you.

pcmod · 20/03/2023 11:19

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well @TraceyTarotReader, hope you get sorted soon. I’ve never done the opks but does sound like a lot of stress. I have enough of a problem with pregnancy tests. Maybe a bit less stress might do you good.

Iusedtobedontcall · 20/03/2023 13:07

Very excited for you @Kelb79 - hopefully the IVF journey will go brilliantly.

Hope you are feeling better soon @TraceyTarotReader - ear infections are awful! Maybe taking the stress away by not tracking as much might be good.

I have my counselling in an hour so I’ve come to the park to watch the swans. It’s very peaceful. AF has arrived so hopefully my body is back to normal post surgery.

traceyann44 · 20/03/2023 14:20

@pcmod and @Iusedtobedontcall thankypu yes I feel less stressed already I said t my husband feels weird not running to the bathroom to pee on a opk but I’m really okay with it I’m still temping to confirm I have ovulated but yeah I feel less stressed already .

I went to doctors today about my ear he had a good luck and said my ear isn’t infected this time but I do have a lot of Catarrh in the lower part of my ear inner ear I think he said he gave me a good at spray to clear it out and to top it of I have tonsillitis so I have antibiotics for that I feel a right mess and I Carnt even be bothered to BD I just want summer to come when ya feel better x

TraceyTarotReader · 20/03/2023 14:26

Why has it put my old user name I’ve tried changing it in settings but it keeps putting my old one on so irritating.

Kelb79 · 21/03/2023 11:07

Thanks lovelies ❤️❤️ it’s taken me a couple of days to level out 😵‍💫 but AF still hasn’t come so I’m stuck in the hormonal hell at the moment 😐

@everyone …. could you all do a quick update of where you are? It’s hard to completely keep track of everyone and I’d love to know where you’re at 🙏🏼

me: 43 OH 51
TTC 4 years for 1st
Low AMH only issue found
1 MMC (natural conception)
3 OE IVF egg collections - no viable embryos
DE IVF starting any moment with IVF Spain

Iusedtobedontcall · 21/03/2023 11:29

Me 42 DH 40
3 DC with ExH aged 17, 15 and 13
Conceived accidentally aged 41 (in May 22) and that pregnancy ended in MMC.
TTC since MMC in August and got positive test on Boxing Day. NIPT results were high risk for Trisomy 21 and so TFMR on February 17th.
AF is here so hopefully cycles are back to normal and I can TTC.
Not had any tests done yet but I’ve ordered an online fertility test kit. Can’t use it for three cycles after the pregnancy as need hormones to return to normal.

RockingGazelle · 21/03/2023 14:26

Rainbows121 · 21/03/2023 18:40

Hi
I'm 43, DH 44
DC that has just turned 4, I had 2 x MMC before having him.
We've been trying for about a year now but within this time I've had covid twice which both times has messed up my cycle.
I've started having acupuncture which I also had after my 2 MMC and went on to have my little boy.
Wishing everyone lots of luck with their ttc journey x

birdbybird · 21/03/2023 19:27

Hi,
I’m 42 and DH 48. We are ttc #2.
first is 3 years old.
Have had 2 early mc and one through first cycle of ivf.
Have had two more cycles of ivf since that have been unsuccessful but gave us some answers. And now starting a 4th. :(

TTCnumberfour · 21/03/2023 20:08

Me 44 Oh 46 ttc #4 for me #1 for him.
already have 3 children with exh 17,17 &11.
had surprise naturally conceived BFP in December 22 but didn’t stick 😞.

theleavesfall · 22/03/2023 03:55

Me 44 DH 45
DD1 is now 4.
Have been TTC number 2 for about a year now, nothing.
Cycles regular 25 days. On and off using OPKs - I find the Clearblue ones better.
Delayed TTC number 2 due to covid and moving house etc 🤷🏻‍♀️
Feel like I've left it two late.
Everyone at the school gates seems to be rushing off to pick up the other sibling or siblings...
Anyway. Saves me a rush 😆

Fingers crossed 🤞 for you all.

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 22/03/2023 08:10

I'm 43 this month, DH 38.
We have a 14 month old daughter and TTC number 2 for 4 months so far. Period due any time now and think it will come as pee on a stick test negative this morning.

I found testing for ovulation etc very stressful last time, when it took just over a year to conceive our daughter (4 months after a CP).
So just DTD regularly in my approximate fertile window (which is what we did the month I actually conceived her).

XxX

bussteward · 22/03/2023 09:07

Hello! I was on the last thread and started watching this one so it pops up in my threads every now and then.

Hope a positive story from the other side is helpful: age 41.5 I’ve just had my second baby, a lovely boy born in December. During surgery (had a section) the surgeon told me I had major adhesions with my right tube totally blocked but I’d managed to conceive anyway.

Here he is, and thank you to all on these threads which I found a huge support while TTC and miscarrying and getting nowhere for a while. Wishing you all luck xx

Iusedtobedontcall · 22/03/2023 09:27

How beautiful @bussteward - he’s absolutely gorgeous. Lovely to hear some positive news!

Mattieandmummy · 22/03/2023 09:38

I'm another positive story - my second daughter was born when I was just 41 last July. Best of luck to everyone x

MariaDingbat · 22/03/2023 11:25

Hi all, like the ladies above I was on an earlier thread and wanted to add another positive update. I had my first daughter in 2020 at 40 and my second daughter arrived last November when I was 42. Both are happy and healthy and I was lucky enough to conceive naturally (with 2 miscarriages on the way). Good luck to everyone on their journey!

honeypancake · 22/03/2023 14:08

Hello lovely ladies. I have been following this thread and the previous one for a while. Just starting to TTC my first one at almost 42. Like many others, met my other half later in life etc.. I have found this group so supporting, be it good news or heartbreaks! Good luck to all of us everyone! 🤞

pcmod · 22/03/2023 17:07

I’m 44, DH 34.
Had a child when I was 40. Before that successful pregnancy had two miscarriages, as well as an ectopic and a chemical pregnancy.
Been trying for number two on and off for the last 18 months. Two more losses.
Had standard NHS tests haven’t found any problems but they don’t seem to investigate very much. Pretty certain it’s down to egg quality.
Big thanks to all the posters who have updated on their successes, lovely to know it is possible. Thanks for sharing the lovely photo @bussteward your little boy is gorgeous. Congratulations to you all and fingers crossed we get more happy stories on these thread soon.
