Hi everyone, I do hope everyone is doing ok? Haven't read all the way back as I've been out for a while. I've had a lot to deal with, with all the moving house business (still hasn't actually happened) but af finally arrived for me on 30th jan so previous cycle was 101 days 🙄 she stayed for 5 days then went on her merry way, I tried temping and opk but kept forgetting as I'm out of practice having given up on the mega cycle so just dtd every few days, I should be cd18 today but instead I'm cd1 again, assume this is just my body resetting and next month may be a more 'normal' length 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Iusedtobedontcall I hope you find some help with your situation, may be a good idea to talk to some other Down syndrome parents and get their perspective?

Trigger Warning-

We are not going to proceed and I’m having the surgical procedure tomorrow. The NIPT is 99.9% accurate for DS and there were markers on the scan (the nuchal measurement) so I’m not waiting for amniocentesis or CVS. I don’t want to wait and make it more traumatic.

The nurse said there’s no way of knowing the severity before birth. 50% have heart problems. 60% who reach 50 will have Alzheimer’s. She could need 24 hour care potentially and we can’t know that in advance.

I am not going to TTC for the foreseeable and possibly not ever now - it’s been too traumatic for me.

I hope this isn’t triggering or upsetting for anyone and I wish you all lots of luck.

I will check in to see how everyone is doing and @October1979 I look forward to hearing of the arrival of your little gang very soon.

Oh @Iusedtobedontcall I'm so sorry, life is really really shit. Do whatever you need to do to get through this. Tfmr mamas have some support groups that might be helpful when you're ready. Sending lots of love xxx

@Iusedtobedontcall oh huni, I am so incredibly sorry 😞 I can’t begin to imagine how you’re feeling right now. This journey is so awfully horribly cruel. I’m devastated for you. Please try to look after yourself above everything right now and reach out to everyone and anyone that can help and support you (including us). Don’t go through this alone. Talk lots, cry as much as you need to, don’t bury anything, it has to come out for you to move forward eventually.

btw…. Has anyone had any experience of having a fairly normal period, it stopping as expected, and then starting again a couple of days later? Not mega heavy but enough!
it last for a few days again, became just blood on wiping but I’ve never had that before 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’ve also had quite a bit of cramping through both bleeds and after which I don’t usually get 🤔🤔

Thank you for the support. The procedure went ok and I’m physically well. I’ve been weepy and flat but that’s to be expected. Not making any TTC decisions for a couple of months as I need to get my head straight and get better. Off work till mid March at the moment but not sure when I’ll be ready. I would have been our 12 week scan tomorrow.

@Kelb79 ive had where I’ve bled for my normal 4 days stopped for about 2 days and then started up again but only enough to wear a liner I think we all have funny months and we adjust the following month I wouldn’t worry to much about it unless it happens regularly then maybe see a doctor .

So af has gone now and I’m about to ovulate my temp dropped a lot this morning indicating ovulation is near opks we’re negative yesterday but that dosnt mean it won’t be today . My smear test came back negative so I was thankful for that now today I have to phone doctors because I have a bad ear infection and I can hear my heartbeat throbbing sensation in my ear it’s horrible my daughter has the same so I’ll be phoning for her to . And I always feel I’ll around ovulation dose anyone else feel like this when about to ovulate not the ear infection just generally feel off .

so as it seemed I had a cp last month and tested positive on a hpt at 9dpo for a week I am promising my self not to test early easier said than done but I have got to try because it’s so hard seeing a positive and then watching it fade to negative at 51 my insides still think it can still do it so I’m going with that and that makes me feel happy that I can do it just needs that extra push to get where it needs to be I do feel it coming my cards I pulled yesterday I asked in my mind about conception and the pregnancy card comes out I’m like wow so we wait and see hope every one is doing okay x

@Iusedtobedontcall I'm glad you're taking some much needed time off after what you've been through. As others have said, be kind to yourself.

AF is officially one day late but pregnancy test this morning was negative so will just have to wait and see what happens. I do tend to ovulate late (how I got pregnant with my first, after thinking I was out that month) so still a tiny possibility this month.

@Iusedtobedontcall i also just wanted to add I’m so sorry if I gave you false hope. I just know how ill I made myself with worry at the time and didn’t want someone else to go through that if they didn’t need to. I’m so sad you didn’t get the news you’d hoped for and have had to go through this. It’s very unfair. I hope you’re doing as well as can be expected! Xx

Ladies, I'm 2 days late and I did a test. I really don't expect to be pregnant as we were staying with my partners family during my fertile window so we only had sex once right at the start of the window. I did a test this morning, a cheap test, and I think I can see a very faint line. It's almost not there. Reading up online, could it be an evaporation line?

@Catconfusion thank you and don’t worry at all. I knew this was a possibility. DH has agreed to try again and I’ve decided that is what I want. I’ve been pregnant twice in the past nine months so I am hopeful that the next one could be the rainbow. Feeling much more positive.

That’s a good update to hear @Iusedtobedontcall I’ve been thinking of you and I’m glad to hear you’re feeling much more positive. Really hoping for you.

A little update on me. I had egg collection on 8th Feb and they got 11 eggs, call following day to say 8 had fertilised. From that, 6 made it to day 5 so they were biopsied for PGTA. I had the call yesterday to say 2 out of the 6 are “normal” or euploid. I don’t know what the other 4 are yet, only that they are not euploid. The embryologist will call me back today as the one I needed to speak to wasn’t in yesterday by the time I called back.

So feeling good about that result, I just need to find out what the process is for me for FET. I’m CD9 today and don’t know if they’ll let me downreg from CD21 this cycle or if I need to have a whole cycle clear and start after this coming AF. Hopefully the clinic will call me later today on that point. Any experiences you’ve had and can share are gratefully received!

I have considered whether IVF might be a good option for me. But I’ve fallen pregnant twice - it just hasn’t progressed for different reasons each time. So not sure. DH thinks we should just continue as we are and get the NIPT screening again. From what I’ve read Trisomy 21 is not genetic and is just random, so not likely to happen twice.
