@theleavesfall I’m 42 and due in September when be 43 - all being well.

Catconfusion · 10/02/2023 11:33

Hi everyone, I’ve completed my family but I occasionally check in to see how everyone is. This thread was a godsend when conceiving my daughter.

@theleavesfall I was 40 when I had my son and 42, nearly 43 when I had my daughter. Good luck to you. I hope you have good news soon.

@YellowLoafers best of luck for the coming days. I hope you get good news on Monday.

@October1979 im over the moon for you. I hope you get some good rest in before the babies come and everything is textbook from here on in.

@Iusedtobedontcall we had the same measurement of 2.9 with our daughter. I was petrified and spent the three days we waited for results puking and paralysed with fear. I look back now and wish I could have kept calmer. I was just over 11 weeks when I had the scan. My odds of DS came out at 1 in 500 so within the range where no other tests were needed. Everything was absolutely fine. My daughter came out without any genetic abnormalities. I read somewhere that embryos store more fluid behind their necks early on so it can be an increased reading during early scans. As the organs develop, fluid is distributed better throughout the body. I’m obviously not a doctor but it’s interesting that my scan was quite early and I got a similar reading. It’s great news and reassuring nothing was picked up on your scan. Anyway, good luck for your results and congratulations.

@Iusedtobedontcall and @YellowLoafers well I think I had a cp that positive I post d was at 9dpo didn’t progress I still got positive lines up till 15 dpo but not progressively darker I started spotting this am but have nothing on my pad since then only there when I wipe I did another test and got a faint line but I think it’s just on the way out .

TraceyTarotReader · 10/02/2023 20:18

theleavesfall · 11/02/2023 07:00

@Catconfusion @Iusedtobedontcall thank you although I'm not holding out much hope!
I've decided to be "if it happens it happens" as the monthly disappointment was too much 😭

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 11/02/2023 10:43

@Catconfusion hi! How's life with 2? I'm where you were at now- aged 42 and trying for my second. Elena is one already. Lovely to hear from you xx

TraceyTarotReader · 11/02/2023 10:53

so after getting my positive hpt at 9dpo that didn’t really progress to get any darker I am sure I had a CP my af started right on time and am currently cd 2 I’m not going to lie this has had me in tears and my mind is all over the place but I know I’ve got to get myself out of this head funk on the positive side my body tried to do something and it’s the first positive test we’ll clear test I’ve had since my last loss 12 years ago I can feel it coming soon I just know it .

here’s to next month

how’s everyone else doing

@Marvellouslymadmum where are you hope your okay x

Iusedtobedontcall · 11/02/2023 14:49

@TraceyTarotReader sorry that it’s not progressed for you - it’s such a frustrating process. I hope next month is your month.

@Catconfusion thank you so much - your message really helped. I’ve been worried sick and running through all sorts of possibilities in my head. I love the little bean already! Here’s hoping the bloods come back ok now.

TraceyTarotReader · 11/02/2023 15:26

@Iusedtobedontcall thankyou x

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 12/02/2023 02:14

@TraceyTarotReader so sorry to read this. I'm not surprised your head is all over the place, even though it confirms you can get pregnant. I had a chemical pregnancy (didn't know they existed until it happened) and it floored me. I then had the least hopeful mindset of getting pregnant but to my surprise it happened 4 months later. I hope it comes soon for you too xx

TraceyTarotReader · 12/02/2023 06:28

@Littlemiss42andfabulous bless you and Thankyou I have had multiple CP I don’t know why but this one hit me hard maybe cause it’s the first positive I’d got in 12 years and finally thinking I could be pregnant and my age rocking the older mom club at 51 and pregnant lol it happens .my af is a normal one so that’s good woke up to some pain and got hot water bottle and took some ibuprofen so just gunna lie down for a while and get in the shower .

im sorry for your loss to but so glad you got pregnant successfully after .x

GingerFox2021 · 12/02/2023 11:47

I don’t hold any hope anymore as nearly 2,5 years and to my surprise nothing. I have to be realistic at this stage. Almost 43.

TraceyTarotReader · 12/02/2023 15:07

@GingerFox2021 theres always hope I’ve been ttc for 15 yrs attc and ntnp for 3 years along with 3 losses and multiple CP in 12 years I got my first bfp but sadly ended in a another CP THIS MONTH .This gave me quite a bit of hope knowing that my body tried to do something at the age of 51 I do have older children from a previous relationship .

I do understand where your coming from as I’ve given up quite a few times and then thought what if and I just carry on again but you know I yourself how you feel and what you can cope with mentally your quite a bit younger than me and if you still ovulate and have regular periods I’d keep going good luck lovely x

theleavesfall · 12/02/2023 23:03

@TraceyTarotReader oh gosh you give me hope.
I'm 44. TTC number 2 for a while now.
Feel like giving up.
Yes I still regular and think im still ovulating!
Im going for some check up well woman blood tests - just for general health.
I won't be going down the IVF route if it doesn't happen in another year.
Will be 45 then.

Littlemiss42andfabulous · 13/02/2023 04:18

@TraceyTarotReader sorry I didn't realise you'd had multiple CPs. Even more understandable why this one hit you hard xx

TraceyTarotReader · 13/02/2023 06:29

@theleavesfall im glad I’ve given you hope how I see it if there no real problem with your reproductive system there shouldn’t be a problem in getting pregnant. I know it dosnt work that way for some women but I had all fertility testing saw 2 specialists had scans loads of bloods done at different times husbands sperm checked all came back good I’m just unlucky . I do feel it will happen just when babies don’t have time specifics they come when there ready wether your ready or not . Try and do some meditation light some candles soft spiritual healing music and just let your body float away I do this when I’m stressed it feels so good after . That’s if your into this kind of thing .

I won’t be going down the IVF route either I Carnt afford it and I’d have done it years ago but here’s to wishing for a miracle good luck lovely x

@Littlemiss42andfabulous yeah it dos drain on you but we rise again get on with it nothing can be done to prevent these things I’m just happy my body did something write and I can get pregnant just needs that little bit of a push to get to the next stage finding the golden egg 😊x

Iusedtobedontcall · 13/02/2023 12:13

My little girl has Down’s syndrome. Got NIPT results today. I’ve come home from work.

MattieandmummyandIs · 13/02/2023 13:24

@Iusedtobedontcall I'm so sorry. Take some time to think it over but a huge hug from me. X

YellowLoafers · 13/02/2023 13:29

@Iusedtobedontcall Oh love, I’m so sorry. Sending you lots of love. Good idea to have come home from work, you must look after yourself now. We’re all here for you xx

pcmod · 13/02/2023 13:42

Hey @Iusedtobedontcall,I’m a previous poster and been lurking for a while and just wanted to say how incredibly sorry I am to hear your news. Been through similar myself and know how devastating it is to get the news. Don’t know if anyone has mentioned the support service ARC, ante-natal results and choices, they were a real life line to me, just very knowledgeable, supportive and non-judgemental people who gave me as long as I needed to talk through and helped me reach a decision without them having an agenda. Also as I say I’ve been through similar so do reach out if you feel I could be of any help.
My heart goes out to you and your family, I know it’s not easy but try and look after yourself as best as you can.

TraceyTarotReader · 13/02/2023 16:37

@Iusedtobedontcall im so sorry to hear your news I can imagine it’s a lot to take in take your time and I’m sure she will be a beautiful baby girl x

October1979 · 13/02/2023 16:39

@Iusedtobedontcall I am so sorry to hear this. We are all here if you need to talk. Take good care of yourself sending love ❤️ I

@Iusedtobedontcall sorry to hear your news, hope you're being looked after x

Iusedtobedontcall · 13/02/2023 17:25

Thank you all. The screening midwife said there’s no way of knowing from a scan if she will be mild or if she’ll need 24 hour constant care for the rest of her life. It doesn’t show up on scans - it would literally be a huge gamble. I love her already but I don’t know if I can do that to her or my family. I’m absolutely heartbroken and this will be the end of our TTC journey.

LouScot · 13/02/2023 21:51

@Iusedtobedontcall it sounds so difficult for you. Someone mentioned ARC previously and they might be best placed to give you advice. Did your midwife suggest confirming the diagnosis at all? It's so hard for you, as you say you love this wee baby already and it's so unfair you're in this position. Whatever you decide to do will be the right thing to do x
