Hello how’s everyone doing I finally got my af on cd 72 bit heavier than usual lasted 5 days now I’m waiting to ovulate I’m just hoping it’s all gone back up I normal now . Woke up with a banging headache this morning and a cold I’ve just took some ibuprofen and now waiting for it to ease off . Hate these cold winter days be glad for the summer when everyone feels better apart from allergies I have hayfever so it’s like I have a constant cold .

@TraceyTarotReader sorry to hear about your cold, I feel the same about winter days! It feels so bleak at this time of year.

I am 8 weeks tomorrow and have an early scan booked on Thursday. I’m scared because of what happened last time, but what will be will be. I think if I see a healthy heartbeat I’ll feel a lot better.

@Iusedtobedontcall its horrible woke up to my ears feeling completely full this morning my headache has eased off though but still feel rough I’m coming up to ovulation and I have no energy to dtd it’s awful dh has it been to .

I understand your anxiety about your scan but 8 am weeks wow but it’s one of those things that has to be done you will be okay try not to stress like you say what will be will be please up date when you have had your scan x

@TraceyTarotReader glad you got your af ok, hopefully it'll all be normal, whenever I've had a long cycle before I've ended up with a short one next! Still no af for me 🙄 I have a docs phone appointment this morning though so hopefully she will do some tests or something!

@Marvellouslymadmum arhhhh no af yet well let’s hope the doctor can do something to get you started .

my opks are neg atm but hopefully will be positive in the next day or so and I hope ff agrees earlier this month x

@TraceyTarotReader well that was a waste of time! The doctor said we won't do anything yet, it's probably down to stress rather than menopause, which is a good thing but leave it for a couple more months and ring back at the end of March, which is when I'll be 44 and then we will do more blood tests!

Happy new year everyone! I hope everyone is doing well! I just turned 43 yesterday eeek. I was wondering if anyone knew anyone who had success with ivf using their own eggs, after 43? I'm wondering if it's even worth it to try..

@dollymixture31 happy new year to you to I have no experience in IVF but I’d say anything is a try and you will know if your eggs are good by doing ivf so I’d say go for it and try .

im 51 with no issues as 2 fertility specialists say so but got some reason I have miscarried 3 baby angels with my husband but there’s no reason for my losses but I still continue to try we Carnt afford IVF so that’s a no go for us .

@TraceyTarotReader I'm so sorry to hear about your losses :( I've had 2 miscarriages in the past year (and one chemical) and the consultant said I don't seem to have trouble getting pregnant, but staying pregnant is likely down to poor egg quality. Hence me wondering if it would be any different if I paid for it. I wish you all the best.

@dollymixture31 im sorry to hear about your losses to I’m the same I can get pregnant but have trouble staying there my last loss was at 11 wks with a perfect heartbeat and passed at 9 wks my other one was 10 wks perfect heartbeat and passed at 8 wks and the other loss was natural at 5 wks I had a D&C with the last 2 it’s horrible I’ve had multiple CP to it’s just heartbreaking … I do have 3 girls from a previous relationship and had them with no problem of course I was a lot younger but I don’t think age has anything to do with it it’s just catching the right time to egg . It might be down to poor egg quality but the only way to know is going through IVF .I wish you all the best on which ever route you decide to take x

Morning Ladies, how are you all doing?

So far so good for me on the IVF journey. I’m on long protocol and had down regging scan yesterday which confirmed ovaries are shut down and lining thin, so I started stim drugs last night. Next scan in a week. Been OK on the buserelin, just tired and acne. Be interesting to see how I get on with stims.

@dollymixture31 welcome! 👋 I can’t help on OE after 43 just yet, but I’m 42 (43 in August, so close enough!) and on first IVF cycle with own eggs now. I’ll be sharing journey here.

I have seen a lovely healthy 8 week 3 day baby! Heartbeat was perfect. I cried when the sonographer said congratulations as I had shut my eyes because I was too scared to look!

@YellowLoafers how you getting on with stims? I’m actually missing IVF (wtf??!! 🤣🤣🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️) I think being proactive really helped me! We should be pressing the button on DE IVF around the end of the month 🫣

@dollymixture31 hey lovely, i soooo wish there was a way of knowing the answer to that one!! IVF is basically a blind gamble! Over the course of 3 rounds of stims and egg collection (over my 43rd birthday last summer) we got 11 eggs, 4 fertilised, 3 embryos but none viable after PGT-A testing. I’ve known people who had even less much younger and people who’ve had success and even siblings older 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ much as ours failed I don’t regret doing it - it’s given us answers. Yes, we could do a round and get “the golden egg” but it’s not likely 🤷🏼‍♀️ If you can afford to give it a go and go into it with a realistic and open approach then you’ll either get success or answers 👍🏼👍🏼

so I had the best time interrailing! Hectic! We managed to squeeze in París, Vienna, Venice, Milan, St Moritz, Zermatt, Germany for Rulantic water park and Phantasialand theme park and Amsterdam 😅😅 it was nuts but soooo needed!!
we actually basically split up in Paris on day 2 but we’d got into such a bad place that I think we needed to hit the bottom. After that we rebuilt and reconnected better than we have in a long time.
we were in Italy and Switzerland over my fertile days this cycle and hit it hard 😂😂 but without monitoring or even really thinking about it 👌🏼 so I’m now 10 DPO … you never know 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don’t really hold out hope any more but miracles can happen!

we’ll be going ahead with the DE IVF in a few weeks 😱😱😱

@Kelb79 Welcome back, your trip sounds exciting! And you’re right, you never know so I’m fully crossed for a holiday baby miracle ❤️ If not, sounds like you’re both in a much better place to start DE chapter. As you’re missing IVF, here’s my update 🤣…

Had my first stim scan today, 7 days after starting Menopur. I think it’s so far so good, but welcome everyone’s comments/experiences! I’m showing 15 follicles across both ovaries. Varying sizes, smallest one is 7mm,couple of 8s and 9s, the rest are 12, 13 and 14. Nurse scanning me said it’s good and progressing as she’d expect. She doesn’t think they’ll want to change meds, but if so consultant will call me later to discuss. Next scan Friday morning 🤞🤞🤞

im good Thankyou my af came on 13 Jan a normal bleed after a 70 dc well I say normal it was a bit heavier than it usually is but manageable.. I have ovulated as normal on cd 12 so I’m not far away from you I’m 7 dpo today . But we only managed to bd once and that was on the day I ovulated but if not a miracle this month I’m okay with that I’m just glad my cycle has come right now .

@Kelb79 so glad you had a great time on your trip. It sounds amazing!!! We are all good. 24 weeks now and all measuring well, but I now have weekly scans so all can change fast. Just hoping things continue going well. I've had a great pregnancy up to now. Starting to worry about the reality of handling triplets! Hope you get good news soon and you've come back with a holiday surprise. If not hope the DE process goes smoothly. I think you'll feel really empowered and pleasantly surprised with the process compared with OE IVF. I believe it's a lot easier on your own body.

I am having the NIPT testing next week and another scan to screen for Downs, Pataus and Edwards and I’ll find out the sex too. Decided I need as much info and reassurance as possible. DH can’t come to the appointment because of work so hoping all is ok.

@October1979 Thankyou and yes this happened to me one time but insadly miscarried the baby at 9 weeks but you never know my temps are higher than last month 8dpo today x
