I hear what you’re saying about wasting money when there’s such a low chance of success. But the potential reward just keeps you going doesn’t it. I’m 41.5 so a few months older than you I think!

much more positive news today in my world!!
my dominant follicles are staying steady - no rushing off like last time!
AND…. 2 of the underdogs have kicked off!! 1 grew from 7mm to 14mm in 24hrs!!! 😳😳 the other has gone from 7-11mm so looks like a possibility too!!!
yay!! Hopefully 4, possibly 5 😁 trying not to compare with last rounds figures and just take this for what it is ❤️

@October1979 ooooo not long lovely!!! ❤️❤️ If we get any blasts we’ll be freezing for PGT-A so we’d be September for transfer too 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Praying!!!!! I’m defo not having my mum with me for transfer!! I was 30 minutes late for my meds last night because of trying to have a holiday! I know 30 mins is fine but I got soooo stressed out 🤣🤣 if OH can’t be with me I’m going alone!! 🫣🤣

@99pctpractice it soooo completely take over!! I was useless at work right through stims - I couldn’t think of anything else 🤣 what do you do for work? Will you be able to ease off a bit? where’s your clinic btw - are you doing it locally??

@birdbybird sending love ❤️❤️❤️ The TTC journey at every stage is awful (unless you’re one of this annoying lucky people that we don’t talk about 🫣) I had a MMC at 8.5 weeks after a natural conception last year. It’s truly hideous, I’m not over it to this day. Take the very best care of yourself and all of the time you need. Do you have any frozen embryos to transfer? xX

I hope this gives you all hope and positivity, I gave birth to our second child just over three weeks ago when I was a few months past 41. Natural conception and trouble free pregnancy with so far a healthy baby - I am one of those really annoying people who falls pregnant very easily (sorry) but it shows it is possible over 40. Best wishes to all x

Hi all, haven't been on much as I'm on my last clomid cycle and feeling like it won't work cos why would it after all the others! 🙄 I am looking forward to the next steps and finding out about ivf abroad but also worrying about the money side and thinking my oh really needs to get a move on giving up smoking again so that'll improve chances a bit!!

@Aprilsunnyday sorry you find yourself here, but welcome :o) my cycle was very long post March miscarriage as well - it only just got back to normal-ish in July!

I have started my new cycle - it's very intensive at the new clinic I'm at in terms of blood tests and scans, etc, and they have put me on all sorts of meds. I have had to set myself a lot of reminders so I don't forget to take them! A bit chaotic at the clinic so far but it is clear they have a system so I am going with it....! My oh last night dropped a bit of a bomb that he wants to stop trying after this round. I think he feels like it's taken over our lives too much and he wants to get back to being us. Which I get but also makes me feel sad and puts more pressure on this round than I would have liked! I think he is probably right that it is time to draw a line, I just would have preferred to have had that discussion afterwards...

@99pctpractice my EC was great - 5 eggs. Super hopeful. But it’s all gone to shit today. 2 immature and only 1 of the others has fertilised
im utterly broken 😞 this journey is shit !
super angry with OH too - woke him up to tell him. He couldn’t even be arsed to actually get up and talk to me - just said “and you’re gonna cry?! It could’ve been zero!”
im fuming and heartbroken.

@Kelb79 Im sorry to hear the news today hasn’t been great and your partner’s not been supportive.

I have two blasts that I’m thinking to PGT-A test. But conscious if they’re abnormal I’ll have nothing left. They’re also not top grade (unlike the one transferred that resulted in mc).

@Kelb79 I'm so sorry, that definitely wasn't the news you were hoping for. Try not to panic. It only takes 1. Fingers crossed this egg is good. Stay positive and try to take things one step at a time. It's all so overwhelming. Sending love xxx

@Kelb79 I'm so sorry. It's such a roller coaster - just when you think you've overcome one hurdle then another one crops up. All fingers crossed that your embryo progresses well!! It only takes one 🤞 sorry your oh is not being very supportive - sometimes they really just don't get it. Hope he has snapped out of it a bit and given you a big hug.

@birdbybird sorry I realised I didn't answer your message below. I have heard of dr shehata but don't know that much about him other than that he's focused on immunes. I hope you have a good experience seeing him! Totally understand why you might want to test your embryos after what you have been through. It's such a balance between not wanting to interfere with them and also not wanting to go through a failed transfer or miscarriage again. Sending hugs !!

so today is my birthday and I woke up to a little bit of good news! Our “one” is a perfect day 2 embryo - 4/5 cells no fragmentation!
im trying to not let myself get carried away with it as I’m well aware of how much can change over the next few days but it’s good to have a little hope still ❤️🙏🏼

@birdbybird i know what you mean about testing!! I’ve already been considering if we’ll move forward to testing if we only had the one 🤔🤔

@Kelb79 happy birthday 🎈. That's good news about your day 2. Fingers crossed it keeps growing. I would give it a chance without the testing. What have you got to lose? It either works or it doesn't. Will save you wondering or waiting 6weeks for the testing. Wishing you the best of luck xxx

I am not testing in this round because their recommendation is to do a fresh transfer of up to 2 at day 2 or 3 and i feel like I have to trust the clinic's advice. Even if I am absolutely terrified of an embryo taking and then the baby having some form of genetic abnormality in a scan. But I think we'll just have to deal with that as it comes.....

now for the big test - getting from day 3 to day 5 blastocyst 🫣🫣

Back from Berlin - had an amazing time and feeling much better physically.

Still bleeding v slightly from my miscarriage (was a week and a half ago) and still testing positive on pregnancy tests though the line is fainter. The hospital haven’t called me back - they just sent me away with the tablets and that was it, but I’m assuming everything is normal. I will do another pregnancy test in a week or so to see if the hormones are dropping as they should. Want to TTC again so impatient!

I was reading that the birth rate last year for over 40s is now double that for under 20s.

@Iusedtobedontcall glad you're feeling better (physically at least) after your trip - i love Berlin!! Keep an eye on the pregnancy tests, I was told I had to come back to epu for a scan to make sure there was nothing left, but it seems to vary a lot from hospital to hospital.

steeled myself for todays update - expected either good or bad news… but have essentially got none!!
They couldn’t biopsy the embryo today and need to wait until tomorrow to see if it reaches blastocyst stage 🤷🏼‍♀️

I don’t even know what to think 😵‍💫😵‍💫
