CD1 here, starting a new thread for those who are hoping to get a BFP in May for a January/February baby 🥰

This is my cycle 3 trying for #2. I've got an 18mo old son.

If I'm supposed to be ovulating since Wednesday but the ovulation tests are negative is this normal?
I used a couple of cheap tests.

Skylark1990 · 22/04/2022 08:34

@thebloodycatwontstopmeowing in the last pic I can see a hint of a line! Maybe try a FRER?!

@Alicew00 it may be you are ovulating later than expected. I would try doing the tests twice a day, once with FMU when you wake up and then again in afternoon evening, but be careful not to drink to much water for a few hours beforehand. Lh rises during the day so often more concentrated in evening.

LemonZestDribbles · 22/04/2022 08:46

@thebloodycatwontstopmeowing I can see something but I'm not sure if I have line eyes for you 🤞 I agree with @Skylark1990 could you order some FRER tests?

@Alicew00 again agreeing with @Skylark1990 to test a couple of times a day. I'd just dtd every second day or something too. Just incase

Looks like AF is going for me. Staying at my parents house until tomorrow then I'll start opks 🤞

Skylark1990 · 22/04/2022 09:22

Also @Alicew00 sometimes the peak is very short so can be missed. Hence testing twice a day can help find it! With the cheap tests of course!

@LemonZestDribbles quite cool we are back around same time again for no 2 indeed! ☺️ This is our 6th cycle I think, within that I've been pregnant twice and had two early losses, so wayyyyy more of a rollercoaster than with our DD, she was conceived straight away on the first try. Fingers crossed it's quick for you! How long did it take to conceive your first? Xx

SearchingTheSkies · 22/04/2022 09:24

Hope it's ok for me to join you all. TTC dc2. It's cycle 3 for me, but it took 18 months to conceive dc1 (with 2 mcs along the way) so expecting it to take a while. Still breastfeeding, late 30s and have a short luteal phase, just for added fun 🤪. Currently in fw so will give it our best shot. Good luck to everyone!

Skylark1990 · 22/04/2022 09:43

@SearchingTheSkies hello and welcome! I am still breastfeeding my 19mo and TTC no 2 as well 🙂 sorry to hear it took so long to conceive your first and that you had two losses. I've had two early MC since trying to conceive no two, we started TTC in Dec 21 - it's so hard.

Hope it's quicker this time for you ❤️
How old is your first child? X

Harriet669 · 22/04/2022 10:25

@Alicew00 I'm the same as you, all negative so far! Has one ever so slightly darker CD 9 but was still very much a negative!
Think I'll try twice a day too! Haven't noticed any changes to CM either but did have one day with a slight dip in temperature

LemonZestDribbles · 22/04/2022 10:46

@Skylark1990 that is such a rough journey for your second. I can't even imagine the turmoil you must have been through ❤ just need that third sticky bean 🤞 first time it took us until the 7th cycle. Funnily enough it was the month we both had had enough and did the bare minimum. It's funny how it happens.

@SearchingTheSkies welcome! Sorry about your previous mcs. Fingers crossed it doesn't take as long this time

ThePodParent · 22/04/2022 15:14

Afternoon all 😊

I’m joining you in hoping for a May BFP - expecting AF around May 1st/2nd and then we’ll begin TTC #2, hoping for a BFP around the end of May.

I was on the January BFP group, conceived, went for a private scan at 10 weeks and found that it was an anembryonic pregnancy (/blighted ovum). Hopefully that’s my ‘1 in 4’ out of the way and we have better luck over the next few months!

Baby dust to all! 🌟

Skylark1990 · 22/04/2022 15:30

Thanks @LemonZestDribbles it has definitely been hard, but just trying to focus on the positives and hope that it doesn't happen again - so easy to feel worried though! Yes it's funny how sometimes it happens when we aren't really 'trying' - last month we almost didn't try, but did (although not hugely haha) and I did get pregnant, though ofc it ended in mc. I'm in two minds atm honestly about continuing to 'try' or to take a break. I guess I'll decide closer to ovulation! x

Organictangerine · 22/04/2022 15:57

DD has just had her chicken pox jab and she’s to stay away from pregnant women for a few weeks. I’m guessing that means we can’t try this month? Plus I’m still testing positive for covid 😢probably best to delay until next cycle…

SearchingTheSkies · 22/04/2022 16:41

Hi @Skylark1990 , my dd is 21 months. Sorry about your losses, too. I'm hoping that by breastfeeding once or twice a day I'm not limiting my chances of success. I'm ovulating, so should be ok I think? Sounds like a lot of us on this thread are due some good luck sooner or later.
Hi @LemonZestDribbles Thank you and wishing you lots of luck!
I told myself this morning that I was going to start eating healthier to try to encourage things along, but I've just caved and eaten crisps. Whoops!

@ThePodParent welcome! Sorry about the blighted ovum. Hopefully this is your month. What age is your dc?

@Skylark1990 a relaxed approach does seem good but it's also so hard to switch your mind off when we've learnt so much about our bodies now

@Organictangerine that's really tough :( I've no idea on the jabs. Definitely what you feel comfortable with

@thebloodycatwontstopmeowing sorry about the negative :(

ThePodParent · 22/04/2022 19:45

@LemonZestDribbles She’ll be 13 months next week 💕I’d love to have a ‘2 under 2’ age gap so hoping to catch a bub in the next couple of months (obvs really fine if not, but a girl can dream!). 💭

QueenBee22 · 22/04/2022 20:16

@Organictangerine I was thinking of getting the chickenpox vaccine for my toddler but we are ttc. Should I wait?

I think I’m going to sit this cycle out to be on the safe side, although I’m not sure if that applies to pregnant women in general or just ones who haven’t had chicken pox 🥴

QueenBee22 · 22/04/2022 20:23

Ah okay I have had chicken pox as a child but it is good to know anyway. Thank you.

TeddyBeans · 23/04/2022 19:24

Hi all, checking back in after a 2 day trip to Alton towers for mini man's birthday. Didn't take any OPKs with me but pretty sure I missed peak as my one this morning was clearly negative so we're not looking good for this month.

Going to go catch up on the thread now! ✨✨

PeanuttyButter · 23/04/2022 21:39

Hi all I feel like I'm jumping on this thread late but at the same time I'm due to test with a FRER on 3rd May. Thinking il be 10dpo by then as got my peak on opk yesterday. I've had 4 losses in the last 12 months.. pregnant for a total of 32 weeks in all. Currently on cycle day 19 but I bled for the first 11 days as I've just had a pregnancy of unknown location resolve itself at 6weeks. I should ovulate based on that opk. We've dtd at the times we usually do just need to see if my body is ready for it.

Hoping for BFP in May
Harriet669 · 24/04/2022 07:58

CD15 and still no peak on OPK, done them twice a day for the past 3/4 days and then every day since CD5 as irregular just to be sure!

@TeddyBeans do think your peak was when you were away? may still be in a chance!

@PeanuttyButter sorry for your losses, sounds like an incredibly tough 12 months! Here's to hoping this is your cycle 🤞🏼

MissBlue93 · 24/04/2022 09:21

Hi can I join? I'm on CD1 2nd cycle TTC baby number 3 (my partners 1st) we just had a horrible few days of false positives/evaps on a few brands especially FRER!

This month I've got easy@home ovulation strips and a BBT thermometer coming tomorrow. My apps are estimating my fertile window will start in the next 7-10 days so when should I start testing? As I know it can vary each month!

Catred4 · 24/04/2022 09:28

Hi everyone, I've not been on the thread for a while, my app hasn't been working. I'm CD17 today and have got a positive opk this morning. I haven't seen my husband since Wednesday morning and he's coming back tonight so hopefully we've not missed it! My bbt hasn't risen yet, so hopefully we can get there just in time!

@thebloodycatwontstopmeowing really sorry about your bfns, really had my fingers crossed for you after the faint line on the internet cheapie, exactly the same thing happened to me last month. It's so frustrating.

Welcome @Harriet669, I normally start testing from CD12 but I don't normally ovulate until CD18. If you don't mind wasting some tests, it wouldn't hurt to test sooner - CD7 should be fine I reckon. What app will you be using to track your bbt and tests?

@PeanuttyButter sorry to hear of your tough journey, looks like we'll be testing a similar time - I got peak opk this morning x
