@Minster2012 apparently didn't learn from the last time and is once again letting me loose behind the wheel whilst she enjoys her well earned rest! You can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where lots of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

We have had over 100 BFPs on this thread since @Minster2012 took over including 2 on the last thread so we need to keep our lucky run going, no slacking ladies!

Anything goes and NOTHING is TMI on this bus! Whether you're doing it the old fashioned way or with some help from science, we're all waiting for those 2 pink lines and are here to support each other and try to stay (somewhat) sane along the way

Oh @Sausage1990 nice to see you, I am in the same boat at you, not preventing and hoping it would happen, I open shop to sell my knitting, you can see it in Instagram i.knitted.this

Sausage1990 · 12/04/2022 13:18

Ohhh amazing @Franklydear I will definitely have a look - love to support fellow small biz ladies 💕

40ttc · 12/04/2022 13:40

@somatronic yes scan today only 4 follicles but remaining positive lining was OK so that's good we shall see how many are there in 3 months after all the supplements!
@pennysays yes had ivf four years ago was unsuccessful didnt get past blastocyst stage paid for two goes at the time.
then massive delay due to death In the family and pandemic! Now 46 and so last ditch attempt, long shot obviously but its a shot so what the hell! Consultant recommended taking 600 of Co enzyme Q 10 and 25 of DHEA 3 x daily for three months one of the lovely ladies on here recommended a book called it starts with the egg which has lots of supplement advice so I have added a whole host of extras myself as per advice in book so vit e vit c vit d3 alpha lipoic acid fish oil (omega 3) and N acetyl cysteine and obviously high dose folic acid goes without saying! Dp read it too and has also started taking a shed load of supplements too! So fingers crossed!

Somatronic · 12/04/2022 13:48

@Sausage1990 welcome back! Not trying not preventing sounds like a good approach. The main news since you left is that almost everyone got pregnant before Christmas and moved to the side car 😆

Sausage1990 · 12/04/2022 19:23

@Somatronic yeah it does seem very quiet over here. To be honest I had hoped I wouldn't see any familiar names and that everyone had been lucky while I've been taking my break. But at least there's still a few left so we're not alone

Where are you in our journey now? Xx

Sausage1990 · 12/04/2022 19:24

Your* journey

Sunbird24 · 12/04/2022 19:48

Hi @Sausage1990, welcome back! I’m just lurking at the moment as I had my 4th MC in Jan (and surgery again last month for retained products) and I’m not trying again until June. Have got steroids for the next go though so will see if that helps! The donkey cart is fairly quiet at the mo too, it’s not just the main bus.

Franklydear · 12/04/2022 19:50

@Sausage1990 I also join the sidecar as an dotting aunt, so I can keep track of them, at the moment in Spain finally able to visit, so also halted as we are in mums houses

Sausage1990 · 12/04/2022 20:11

@Sunbird24 ohhh in so sorry to hear that 💔 I had issues with retained products so I can understand the trauma of it. Just goes on and on does it 😟 how are you managing? Yeah taking a break is super important I think. It's taken me a long time to be ready to try again, and Im really afraid I'll miscarry again but not trying again isn't an option so taking time to be ok was essential.

My OH said he doesn't want to try again if we have another miscarriage. He said that the reoccurring losses just hit me harder and harder, and he doesn't know how I'll manage if it happens again and he doesn't want me to go through it again & again. He said that my mental health and wellbeing are more important. Which is true... But i feel sad that basically this next pregnancy is my last try. It's heartbreaking tbh. And I feel SO much pressure this time round. I don't know how I'd persuade him to try again.

@Franklydear Ohh that's a nice idea to be aunty over there 🥰 to keep track of everyone. I may pop over eventually to check in 👍🏻 awww so lush that you're finally able to be in Spain again - it's been a long time coming. Enjoy yourself with family ☺️

Minster2012 · 12/04/2022 20:34

Trigger shot tonight @Somatronic that's great!! Come on eggies! Thursday yesssss come on

@Sausage1990 hey darling yey you are back on the cock horse!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Sunbird24 do you know when you can go again?

Minster2012 · 12/04/2022 20:36

I'm just lurking watching you guys too 😂

pennysays · 12/04/2022 21:21

Welcome back @Sausage1990 it is quiet over here! But I love it actually because every month someone gets a BFP and it helps me feel hopeful that it could me this month. Not this month in particular though.

Christ that is a lot of pressure from your DH. Are you getting good support for your recurrent miscarriages? @Sunbird24 are the steroids for when you get two pink lines then you start taking them?

@40ttc thanks for that! What a lot of supplements. How did you take them? Did they all come in one tablet or do you take loads of tablets? I’ve just started taking coenzyme 10 or whatever and ordered some proceive on @Minster2012’s instructions. I feel like I need a spreadsheet or something. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A SPREADSHEET ON SUPPLEMENTS PLEASE SHARE. I know one of you has.

I’m finding this whole ivf spectator thing very exiting. First @InkyPaper which was a rollicking success and now @Somatronic.

Somatronic · 12/04/2022 21:34

@Sausage1990 I understand your husband's concerns for you, but really it's up to you, and it's your decision how much you can tolerate. Re my journey, I'm doing IVF, having egg collection on Thursday morning.

@pennysays I'm glad you're enjoying the IVF ride 🤣 I never understood what the hell IVF people were on about back in the day because it all sounds so complicated. It's been grand so far. I can't complain.

@Minster2012 I nearly forgot to take the fecking trigger shot! I was watching a friend do a live stream and suddenly realised it was trigger time. Anyway I was only a few minutes late so I'm sure it'll be fine!

Minster2012 · 12/04/2022 22:17

@pennysays ha ha the spreadsheet of success that should be a thing!

@Somatronic 😂😂😂do you know what I actually realised the day after my trigger shot that there were 2 shots I needed. I had done one! It was then Sunday & I burst into tears saying I'd fucked it all up & couldn't get hold of anyone. I managed to get an on call ivf person phoning back who said to me it was unlikely I'd fucked it up & most ppl only have one shot I'd just had another as a precaution (or not!) and to leave it. Honestly I thought that was it. All was well & eggs were collected so I'm sure a few minutes won't hurt 😆

InkyPaper · 13/04/2022 09:37

@Somatronic oooh egg collection soon!! That's so exciting! Don't do what I did and forget to bring a pad because it will not end well 🤦‍♀️ also, it's super insanely hard but try not to get caught up in the numbers - I ended up with only one viable blastocyst, which is the one they transferred and it worked. (Or at least has worked so far, still waiting on my 12 week scan)

@Sausage1990 hello!! 👋 Oh dear, that does sound like an awful lot of pressure to put on yourself 🤗 thinking of you

Somatronic · 13/04/2022 10:12

@Minster2012 oh God I would have had a meltdown too haha. It's so stressful when something like that happens!

@InkyPaper thanks for the tip! They haven't told me anything other than to fast, overnight so I'll definitely bring a pad with me.

So after being delighted that I didn't get any migraines throughout this process I got a killer migraine last night and felt like I was dying. I took one of my migraine tablets and basically spent the night having fever dreams. I ran for election and topped the poll (go me!), then quickly realised I had all these responsibilities as an elected rep and went around attacking all my friends and family for not stopping me from running.

I slept 11 hours and only woke up at 10am, AN HOUR AFTER I WAS MEANT TO START WORK! Luckily I work from home at the moment and nobody seems to have missed me.

Somatronic · 13/04/2022 10:14

And headache is gone thank God after my fever dream sleep marathon.

Minster2012 · 13/04/2022 13:15

Not gonna lie it was a huge sloppy crying meltdown @Somatronic but all was well. Loving the fact you got elected (well done!) but not the migraines. However it's the end of those meds so hopefully it was your last one too 🤞🏻

@lakejupiter hope you are ok lovely xxxx

Somatronic · 13/04/2022 13:45

Just for clarification, I got elected in a dream. I would never ever run for election. No idea what that was about haha. Hope all is well with you @Minster2012 and your pregnancy. I follow on instagram and the weeks are flying by! For me anyway, probably not for you haha

Minster2012 · 13/04/2022 13:59

Ha yes in a dream you are very powerful @Somatronic 😂😂these last weeks are DEF not going fast, & I feel like a slug now doing a 15 min walk takes about 50 mins 😂

Minster2012 · 14/04/2022 07:55

@Somatronic here to send you allll the good luck for your egg collection today ❤️🤞🏻😊

Somatronic · 14/04/2022 17:19

@Minster2012 thanks! You're so good to remember. It went OK, except it was more painful than I expected. The pain kept waking me up from the sedation and I was crying and roaring from it. It was a bit embarrassing afterwards but what can you do!

They got 9 eggs which I'm happy with, given that there was 10 follicles. They're going to do ICSI and hopefully a transfer on Tuesday. I'm feeling a lot more sore than I expected to, and weeing is fairly torturous but hopefully I'll be better tomorrow. No work until Tuesday or Wednesday now (I assume I won't need a day off for ET but im not ruling it out after today!) so plenty of time to recover.

Sunbird24 · 14/04/2022 18:38

@Somatronic I woke up from my sedation too, it was horrific! You have my whole-hearted sympathies on that score, but hooray for 9 eggs! Tradition is McDonald’s fries post transfer…

Minster2012 · 14/04/2022 18:56

@Somatronic that's excellent!! And maybe it's an ivf thing for the sedation as mine wasn't completely asleep & DH says I was talking UTTER BOLLOCKS asking what the ftse 100 was doing? 😂I mean wtf!! Come on eggs let's get fertilised!! Like @Sunbird24 says it's traditional for MacDonalds fries after transfer & I'm sure she, and @InkyPaper will agree, the transfer is somewhat underwhelming you won't need any time off the day after but just no lifting or twisting please!!

Sunbird24 · 14/04/2022 19:34

Definitely @Minster2012! With the collection I told the nurse I was trying to imagine lying on a beach but it wasn’t working (I’m allergic to some usual painkillers so use other techniques to deal with pain if I can) then they gave me more sedative. The transfer was kind of like a smear but easier if anything, other than the speculum I didn’t feel a thing.
