I got my folic acid supplements today. Along with taking my toddler to pick out bedding for his big boy bed, so all kinds of emotions today. My baby is growing up and the idea of trying for another is starting to feel real.

OPK turned light pretty quick this afternoon and now I've got one-sided back pain, so I'm hoping the inositol will help me successfully ovulate this month

@FourOclock 🤞🤞🤞 it's soon for you. Do you have any preference on what you want first?

@alwaysseeingstars hope it's finally static and you're gettin on it regardless! Also hope you're being good to yourself, it's a hard thing to go through!

@dearhummingbirds I've actually been feeling the opposite, lately I keep thinking how much I can't wait to have to be responsible and not spilling my drinks all over the place 😂😂. I definitely wont be giving up but do want to cut down when we start trying, I know quite a few people who got completely wrecked before they know they were pregnant their kids seem fine lol but the change of lifestyle must be a shock!

Anyone watching the ultimatium...?

Morning everyone. So AF arrived and I was a mess yesterday feels a little crazy at how much it upset me considering we've only been actively trying for 4 months. I've just called and made a doctors appointment though as I'm so concerned about my literal phase. I know they'll probably just brush me off but I at least want it logged for the future just in case. So going to have a cider and steak tonight to cheer me up since I wouldn't be able to do that if pregnant so trying to look on the positives

I got absolutely smashed at least twice before I found out I was pregnant with my first...and she's mostly normal 🤣

My birthday today! To sum up mum life...we're going to the cinema to watch a kids film and then have McDonald's for dinner as that's what the girls want 🤣

@Nypie thanks, still on the flashing (day 10!) but keeping going and DTD as much as possible (not as much as ideal but hey, life gets in the way haha!)

@lj2022 sorry AF arrived definitely treat yourself tonight!! Good luck with the doctors too!

@Jennifer89 I'm totally with you on wanting a spring baby, it's my fave time of year by far so that would be amazing! Although still desperate each month regardless haha...

Bit of a TMI question but has anyone BD a few days after AF finished (still tiny amount of spotting), and it made you start bleeding again?

I'm determined not to get freaked out about it, although if it happens again I will definitely call the GP!

@alwaysseeingstars Thankyou definitely needing a self care night. My doctor was amazing and said she wants to get me in for progesterone testing and it's just made me feel so much better that I felt listened to and that she took it seriously so feeling a lot happier. So glad I decided to track my cycle or I'd never have pinpointed an issue

@HeathenPlayingHouse it's happened to me before. Sorry for not having a better way to put it, but like it jiggles the last bits loose 🤣

It's gone back to spotting so I'm not going to get myself too worked up about it. It was just a shock because it was a lot and bright red as well!

My second was conceived and 'discovered' on a three week, rose soaked holiday. I don't think I had a sober day. 😂
He's a healthy and robust little boy!

@DanceWithYourBalloon it sucks doesn't it but I think allowing the day or two of sadness and then picking ourselves up it so important. Oh brownie points for your husband enjoy the indulgence

Have been a bit MIA the last week or two. Was concentrating on using the OPKs and DTD lots last week and over the weekend. TBH if I don’t get pregnant this time I don’t know what I’ll do as we’ve been doing everything ‘correctly’ cine last March. I’m only 2 days past ovulation today but my nipples have been very sensitive and achy, and I felt quite nauseous this morning. Surely it’s too early for any symptoms and I’m just getting carried away?!

@OCM19 @DanceWithYourBalloon @lj2022 Sorry to hear AF arrived, hope you’re feeling ok. It can get very frustrating after the excitement a few days before and the AF ruins the party. Hope you have been able to take it easy and treat yourself to something nice – yes to fizz and chocolate!

@TonkaBean22 My birthday is one week after New Year, which is one week after Christmas so January birthdays can be a bit meh - I always get lots of unwanted bath sets from other people’s Christmas presents!! But don’t think you should worry too much, a baby is a baby is a baby :) this journey has certainly shown me that it can take a hell of a lot longer for some people than anticipated and impossible to plan for.

How have you been feeling @@FourOclock? Has the sickness eased off?

@Beautyangel1 Did you have another test? Sorry if I missed an update post – I think you said you were thinking of testing?

@Brightonbelle87 that sounds really frustrating, it's so disheartening when it just isn't happening isn't it?

I'm okay thanks, straight after the nausea eased a bit I came down with a horrible cold so I'm not sure what's making me feel rough at the moment I finally have a date for my 12 week scan though in 3 weeks time so that's exciting!

Happy birthday @Dreamingof3! Sorry I’ve been so silent. I am trying to keep up with posts. Having bad pregnancy sickness plus a cold means I’ve basically been in bed eating dry crackers for the last ten days except when I really had to drag myself onto work calls!
Hope you’re all doing well, and time isn’t going too slowly for those waiting to try and fingers crossed for everyone on the TTC train right now. X

I wonder if there's a link between pregnancy and colds? All pf my previous pregnancies I've had really awful colds around 6/7 weeks!

Enjoy your steak and cider @lj2022 - I'm planning a weekend of Prosecco, a very hot bath, and contemplating what other forbidden things I can indulge in before I can't!

I've just realised we've been invited to 3 weddings this summer, if we get lucky first cycle I'll be somewhere between 6 and 11 weeks for them all - does anyone fall for the antibiotic excuse any more??

Best thing is to just have an actual drink and pretend to sip it. Or some thing that looks like a drink (coke or lemonade that you can say is vodka etc) hopefully other people will be tipsy enough to not notice

@Amber17 Antibiotics are a giveaway unfortunately. I actually was on antibiotics for a tooth abscess over Christmas early in my second pregnancy and family all twigged I was pregnant but didn't say anything. When I sadly miscarried and then drank for a relatives January birthday they actually commented 'oh we thought you were pregnant because of the antibiotics excuse for not drinking'

What did work was accepting the drinks and pretending to sip and then sneakily getting my husband to drink them... and then at a hen do, getting the bar tender to give me lemonade in a gin glass (did have to sneakily visit the bar alone though and the young bar tender was very confused by my request 😂😂)
