I realised I have not read properly or replied for a couple of weeks, I have been busy with DIY, DD got norovirus and DP has covid again.

Cold feet here too, still not where we need to be and I've been looking at finances and it is freaking me out a bit.

We also have a sporadic sex life these days, with everything we have going on it's 1-2 times a week, thinking we may need to up the anti in the fertile week but I had really wanted to not time sex with ovulation. I think we will take it easy for a few months before we start timing things, especially as we will be in the process of moving.

Lovely to see the growing number of BFP's and new joiners!

rosecbrm · 09/04/2022 16:59

@Nypie I'm well thanks, hope you are too! Sorry have been so inactive on here.. just catching up!
Just looking forward to going away in June now! Bet you're the same Grin

WingingIt09 · 09/04/2022 18:11

Sorry to hear that @OCM19 fingers crossed for next cycle for you

@HippeePrincess @Duckandsarah I completely get cold feet, particularly on the finances front! I am looking at cars/car seats. We will need to be able to get 3 car seats in our car (1 hbb,1 extended rear facing and an infant seat). Despite having an SUV it's just not looking feasible to get 3 car seats in the car unfortunately, which will mean replacing the car with something more expensive 😫😫

OP posts:
FourOclock · 09/04/2022 18:51

@OCM19 sorry to hear that, hope you're okay.

@WingingIt09 oh that's a pain with the car. What car have you got? Luckily we have enough space for two ERF seats and an infant carrier but keep trying to decide who will sit in the middle Grin eldest is in the middle at the mo and climbs in but not sure if he'll manage that with an isofix base on the seat he climbs onto. Wondering if it would be easier to just put infant carrier in the middle but not sure if a newborn between two kids is the best idea Grin

WingingIt09 · 09/04/2022 19:08

@FourOclock we have a Hyundai Tucson 2019 plate, so fairly big car. Everything I'm reading though suggests it's a nightmare. May get lucky with the right combination of seats but there is nowhere nearby to be able to try different seats out. Might trek to the in car safety centre once pregnant but closest one is over 2 hours away. Happy to replace seats if needed. If we have to replace our car, it's going to cost us a fortune!

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 09/04/2022 19:45

@WingingIt09 the car is our biggest issue too. Currently have an old Honda civic as our car died and this was available quickly 🤣
I've been looking at cars to fit 3 car seats in and best bet seems to be anything with 3 separate back seats. Citroën Picasso is one and Renault scenic

HippeePrincess · 09/04/2022 19:48

Cars are such a pain, we definitely need to upgrade ours the plan was to keep this for dp to drive but we don’t think we can afford to run 2 cars.
You’d think a Tucson would do the job! We don’t need 3 car seats but we need to fit an infant, high back booster and a preteen in the back plus we have a dog 😅

WingingIt09 · 09/04/2022 20:00

@Dreamingof3 yes three full seats does seem best. There's only a select few to pick from with that criteria, I would rather avoid having to replace our current car though!

OP posts:
WingingIt09 · 09/04/2022 20:03

@HippeePrincess you would think it would! If we replace DD2s current seat with something narrower then we can put baby in the front with airbag off and I can squeeze in the back between the seats when we're all in the car, but that wouldn't be massively comfy on a long journey I don't think. Will have to play around and see what works.

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 09/04/2022 20:06

I'm.hoping we can make do for a bit and oh will get his promotion that comes with a company car 😅
Potentially we could put dd2 in the front, swap dd1s seat for something narrower...and I squeeze in between her and the baby in the back (Will definitely need to lose some more weight 🤣)

FourOclock · 09/04/2022 20:09

We have the Citreon Grand Picasso and spacious wise it's amazing but I bloody hate the car! We've had so many problems with it in the couple of years we've had it. We wanted a VW Sharan but couldn't afford a new enough one at the time but I think we'll go for that next. Unless I can convince DH on a Mercedes van Grin

Amber17 · 09/04/2022 20:32

@WingingIt09 How often would you need everyone in the car for more than a short journey? Might be cheaper overall to hire a bigger car just for long trips?

I don’t really drive so have currently budgeted more for the pram than I have to replace DH’s v old car 😂

Dreamingof3 · 09/04/2022 20:42

@amber17 I don't drive at all so also more interested in prams 😅

I just said we'll do things while the older ones are in school. Shopping etc 🤣

WingingIt09 · 09/04/2022 20:44

@Amber17 probably not hugely often, so we could potentially put baby in the front with airbag off and if we replace DD2s seat with something narrower I could sit in the back in between them. Would def be a squeeze!

OCM19 · 09/04/2022 21:19

Hi @Camia I think it’s totally normal to feel all of that. I would suggest that you try and get to know your cycles and when you ovulate etc.

Oh no @HippeePrincess you should like you’ve been having a difficult time too. After Covid and norovirus, we think DS has chicken pox!

@WingingIt09 ahh car choices are not fun, particularly when looking at the financial side. I bought the car I’ve wanted for soo many years before Christmas, but the way the cost of living is going I probably won’t keep it for years and years as 1 tyre is £185 😱

I’m actually feeling ok being on CD1. I just want to keep getting to know my cycles and try to do some exercise. X

Camia · 09/04/2022 21:30

@OCM19 That's the plan. I got the implant after I had my son almost 2 years ago and my period never came back at all due to the implant so I have no clue what my cycle is going to be like once it's out. It was pretty irregular before and my son was a surprise pregnancy so I'm totally new to actually intentionally TTC. So we'll see what happens.

TonkaBean22 · 09/04/2022 21:42

This sounds kind of silly, but I was thinking of getting started this month - but if I did get pregnant I wouldn’t be so keen on giving birth in January. Has anyone else waited a cycle to make sure they wouldn’t have a December/January due date?

I know it’s impossible to ‘plan’ a time, but I live up in Scandinavia and I know how much better I feel in myself once spring starts setting in from late February. And that gives me a third month of taking folic acid and preparing my body.

Am I being foolish to wait another month or two, considering it could take years. But also that I could get lucky first time around?

HippeePrincess · 09/04/2022 22:17

@OCM19 I guess it hasn't been easy but hasn't been horrific, just seems to be normal life. Luckily we've either had chickenpox or been vaccinated for it in our house, I hope it isn't too bad.

@WingingIt09 I get travel sick so not a chance I'd be squeezing in the back of anything!

@Dreamingof3 I have an extremely old and small hatchback at the moment, perfect for dp learning and as a first car but really not a family of 5 plus dog car!

@TonkaBean22 it's not silly at all, and I'd definitely want to avoid Dec and Jan as well due to lots of January birthdays in my family.

WingingIt09 · 09/04/2022 22:22

@OCM19 oh no, my girls had it a few months ago. DD2 was absolutely covered in them bless her. Made for a few sleepless nights. Hope he doesn't have it too badly.

@TonkaBean22 not silly at all. We are waiting until May purely to avoid end of January birthday for personal reasons.

@HippeePrincess I don't do too well in the back of a car either, but might have to put up with it for a while until we can save up for a new car. We travel longer distances so infrequently I'd hope it's not too much of an issue. Obviously still hoping for find a car seat solution that allows all 3 kids to be in the back seat though!

Sorry - not been good at keeping up the last week. Been busy with work and DIYing

@Nypie I’m doing well, thanks! I’m having a night out with some of my old work colleagues next Thursday, who are mostly younger than me, and thinking about how I’m going to miss a good drink when we start TTC BlushGrin

Is it good to cut down on the Friday wine whilst TTC or just waiting for the BFP?

@TonkaBean22 Definitely not foolish. I want a spring baby / don’t want to be heavily pregnant in the height of summer, so I honestly would consider stopping TTC after we’ve tried for the first two cycles in August and September. But I’ll have to see what happens when we get there! Smile

dearhummingbirds · 09/04/2022 23:25

@Nypie sorry! Forgot to ask how you are!?

FourOclock · 10/04/2022 06:48

@TonkaBean22 not silly at all! We wanted to avoid a July/August/September baby to avoid having it during harvest. In the end with DC1 it was taking a long time for us to conceive so we decided not to stop trying but luckily he was born in January. DC2 was conceived second month of trying and DC1 conceived first month!

HippeePrincess · 10/04/2022 10:02

@dearhummingbirds I guess if you drink heavily it’s a good idea to cut down, I’ve never actually stopped drinking while ttc I’d just stop when I got a bfp. I’m quite relaxed though as I’ve been known to sip champagne or a small glass of wine on occasions during pregnancy.

DanceWithYourBalloon · 10/04/2022 10:37

@OCM19 Sorry about AF arriving. 😕

I think I might be out too. I had a faintly positive test this morning but I've been spotting and cramping for a couple of days. The spotting has been heavier than before too. AF not due until the 14th so I'm presuming its another chemical.

lj2022 · 10/04/2022 11:49

@OCM19 @DanceWithYourBalloon good luck if you're both testing!

I'm currently 7 DPO I've kept myself so busy this week and just hoping that the next few days fly by as I'm ideally hoping to wait until 12 DPO to test but not sure if I can hold out that long
