Trying for baby number 3

dani9031 · 07/02/2022 13:21

Me and my husband have just started trying for our 3rd baby this month. Probably being a little bit over enthusiastic but just wanted to create a thread for anyone else in the same boat and hoping for a BFP in the next 4-6 weeks 😃

Would be lovely to hear from people hoping for the same outcome very soon!

I’m CD11 today, usually ovulate CD13 but OPK still negative, looking back they are low level for the whole time then suddenly positive, so maybe positive tomorrow?

Sorry if this is TMI. But AF turned up on Friday 2 days earlier which has never happened before.

Saturday was really heavy bleeding and lots of cramps, yesterday was lighter and this morning when I went to the loo, I felt something fall out. Again I'm really sorry for tmi, but when I looked it was what I hope was just a clot, but it was pretty big for a clot from a period, and very unusual for me. I couldn't see properly what it was as the water around it was red. It didn't disintegrate either and has really worried me.

I'm overthinking everything and wondering if anyone else has had this? I'm really hoping it was just a clot but have never felt them fall out like that before.

@dani9031 I have had this before actually. It wasn't pregnancy related but I'm trying to remember what it's called, a cast or something? I think it's actually the womb lining staying in tact and coming out rather than gradually bleeding out, I found mine on the top of a tampon when it happened to me! Let me Google and try and see what it's called... I've probably explained it completely inaccurately

FourOclock · 14/03/2022 12:29

Decidual cast!

Mummyme87 · 14/03/2022 13:21

Yes decidual cast. I’ve had it before. I thought it was a pregnancy, but no

dani9031 · 14/03/2022 13:23

@FourOclock @Mummyme87 thank you so much for replying, I feel much more reassured! I was really panicking that it may have been an extremely early miscarriage so thank you both again for putting my mind at rest xx

I remember feeling exactly the same when it happened to me, I was really young and just relocated as a live in nanny so was so scared!

@dani9031 yes I've had the same thing. Very disconcerting to feel it drop out but not that common so hopefully won't happen to you again

Holly3 · 15/03/2022 12:55

Haven't been on so just catching up! Feeling off and not right since Sunday and tested positive for Covid this morning. I'm 10DPO and just had some brown spotting when I wipe I'm not due AF for 7/8 days yet. Could this be implantation or could Covid affect my period? Hope everyone's doing okay! X

Pheepa · 22/03/2022 17:47

How are you getting on @Holly3?

I’m CD12 and been getting flashy smileys on CB digital OPK since last night. Plenty of CM too so it’s definitely time!

Wondering what to do this weekend about having a drink. We’re out on Sat night with my sis and then got a table booked in a nice restaurant for Mother’s Day on Sunday. Everything I read online says drinking in the post ovulation phase reduces chances of conception so feel like I need to abstain completely. My sis knows we are trying but I know she’ll think I’m daft for going completely sober before even being pregnant and she’ll definitely tell me so! Somehow a nice restaurant on Sunday doesn’t appeal either without a nice big glass of wine! Can’t find any events on locally to go to instead but I’ll keep looking!

Ah exciting 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I didn't read too much into drinking the last two times as I really didn't fancy any at all but maybe just see how you feel on the day? I'm doing ok although very deflated, Covid brought my period on 12 days early 🥺 it was incredibly heavy with huge clots it's now turned to brown but I just feel really deflated. Xx
Pheepa · 25/03/2022 08:17

Feeling like a proper cow! Had my static smiley on weds eve. DTD mon and weds but think the pressure got to hubby last night and then again this morning when we got up early before the kids so it just didn’t happen. Know he’ll be feeling crap about it but I just couldn’t bring myself to tell him it was ok when I was really disappointed! Know we’re not completely out this month and will likely try again tonight though think that will be too late. Was feeling really optimistic this month, ovulation seemed to be doing what it should at the right time in the cycle and we weren’t going away or had anything to scupper BD opportunity and now I feel totally deflated that we’ve missed it. I know I’m being ridiculous and not supportive at all to DH but can’t help it! This process is supposed to be fun!
Needed a rant!

2019Mama · 25/03/2022 16:35

Hi guys. How are you all?
I hope you don't mind me joining..
Have a ds who is 3 and dd who is 16 months. We've decided to try for number 3 already as I have irregular periods so didn't want to leave it to long before trying in case it takes ages.

Will catch up on the thread when I get a minute..

satelliteheart · 26/03/2022 19:43

Welcome @2019Mama

I'm cd45, af was due on Monday, can't bring myself to test! I don't feel in any way pregnant but can't remember when symptoms started with my last two pregnancies. I suddenly feel absolutely terrified that I might be pregnant and am having huge doubts about having a third. Will probably test on Monday if still no sign of af. I did also have covid two weeks ago and there's so much anecdata about it affecting periods, so sort of hoping that's why I'm late. I think if I'm not pregnant this time we're probably going to stop trying. I'm just not convinced it's the right thing for our family which is crazy as I was always adamant I wanted 3

I honestly think this the toughest decision I've ever made in my life. I just wish I had a crystal ball to tell me how things would pan out with a third

Mummyme87 · 26/03/2022 20:00

I hope the outcome is right for you @satelliteheart ♥️ Covid pushed my period back last time I had it, by about 5days. It can delay ovulation.

I’m 8dpo, not tested yet. Tests only arrived this evening. Definitely feeling very different this TWW, my AF is due thurs/fri - 2days later than usual as I OV on CD15 instead of CD13. Will do a test tomorrow, although I know it’s early for testing, just feel the need to

satelliteheart · 27/03/2022 12:20

Dh convinced me to test last night and very immediate positive. Very mixed emotions as had really started to think we should stick with 2 but also know if we did stop we'd forever wonder "what if". Dh is over the moon which is funny as he was the one who wasn't convinced about a third until recently

Now we need to decide whether to wait for 12 week scan to tell the kids or tell them earlier. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Ds1 (3yo) will almost definitely tell people there's a baby in mummy's tummy so we're leaning towards waiting but I also feel they have a right to know asap

Mummyme87 · 27/03/2022 13:47

Congratulations @satelliteheart hope you are feeling well. Telling kids, not sure. 9months is a long time for young children, equally if you’re feeling sick/tired etc you have a good excuse for them. Will you tell friends etc about baby? I’m am all for telling friends before 12weeks, I would rather people knew so that if there were issues or a loss I could be supported

satelliteheart · 28/03/2022 09:00

@Mummyme87 yes that's my thought too that I'd rather tell people in case anything goes wrong so I have that support but dh always prefers to wait till 12 weeks.

Good point about sickness etc and they might need an explanation. I've started to feel a bit nauseous this morning. I don't suffer too badly with morning sickness but I did vomit half a dozen times with each pregnancy so imagine this one will be the same and don't want the kids to be distressed by that

Hope everyone else is doing well and you all get your bfp soon

Pheepa · 28/03/2022 09:50

Congratulations @satelliteheart

ThatsNotMyMuffin · 28/03/2022 15:19

Nothing here, AF due tomorrow so I did a test but negative. We only managed a couple of times and just before the fertile window I think and then we got COVID - what timing! Hopefully next month Sad

ThatsNotMyMuffin · 28/03/2022 15:19

Congratulations @satelliteheart, hope you are feeling ok ❤️

Pheepa · 04/04/2022 20:57

How’s everyone getting on? I’m 11DPO and had tiny amounts of spotting since yesterday evening. Obsessively going to the loo to check what’s going on, they must have thought I was mad at work!
Never had spotting that didn’t turn into AF within 12 hours before, it’s now over 24, but trying not to let myself think it could be implantation related! Will see what tomorrow morning brings. It’s nothing more than a smudge when I wipe at the mo but sure AF will follow soon

Mummyme87 · 04/04/2022 21:17

Fingers crossed AF stays away @Pheepa

I’m CD4, not going to actively TTC this cycle, will track but not focus on FW. Will start again next cycle which will be at the end of the month

Pheepa · 04/04/2022 21:27

Thanks, I’m planning on being a bit more relaxed next month if AF does arrive. Whether I’ll manage it is another thing. Thinking I won’t use OPK since its usually around CD13 and I usually get strong ovulation pain so thinking the OPKs might just be adding an extra aspect of stress and making everything a bit mechanical. Aiming to DTD every other day from CD8/9, will see how we get on!
