@NatW2021 yes add that in why not.

Well when I had mine CD13 all those long 5 years ago. I had 16mm lining. So like max thickness really. And I was concerned my period were not that heavy. Altho they have been way lighter now. I’d say I’m now having more of what I was having then. There just short and sweet and over fast. But I had a very good lining. So goes to show shorter periods doesn’t always indicate an issue. Because technically with a really thick lining wouldn’t my period be really heavy back then. But it wasn’t.
So don’t worry too much 9.8mm is fine like she said and nothing to worry about xx

NatW2021 · 18/02/2022 14:37

@Tinkerbell098 - i know what you mean - i always worry if we do the every other day approach that we would miss peak or ovulation so tend to just save it for then, but i do think it's probably best to do it on run up as it might be too late on ovulation day therefore there isn't as many swimmers around as only DTD on peak 😂 oh god isn't it just a minefield!! X

@Indianna2006 - thank you for the reassurance - think i need to chill and just accept its good news that im not flooded of my feet every month x

Decaffe · 18/02/2022 17:45

Hi @Tinkerbell098 I do think it's much of a muchness in relation to HSG or HyCoSy. They offered me a choice of the two (actually a HSG or HyFoSy, with foam), and I just remember thinking I'd prefer the X-ray to the scan, as my previous u/s scan was SO uncomfortable!

Anyway, I have an update of sorts... I was meant to be having the HSG this cycle, and so we were going to have to abstain from TTC this month due to the X-ray. However, I've just been for my antral follicle count. She found nine follicles overall, which I think is good? However, they were spread out - 7 in my LHS ovary, and only 2 in the RHS ovary, along with a dermoid cyst in the RHS. Does this mean every other month of TTC is a write off? Sad

I mentioned having to abstain this month for the HSG and asked what she would do. She said that as she could see a maturing follicle on my LHS (i.e. I am ovulating from my 'good' side this month), she would TTC this month, then postpone the HSG to next month, when I would be ovulating from the RHS (the side with the cyst).

So I have cancelled my HSG and told DH we need to get busy this weekend. Shock The radiographer advised we do it every other day, not daily. Much like @Purple29's method! Today is only CD7 so we have not left it too late.

Just feels like this journey is one piece of bad news after another. All I want is a baby!! Everyone else can do it, why not me?!

kmbegs · 18/02/2022 18:26

@Indianna2006 that definitely sounds like you've made a good change and a much healthier period. You asked about my hycosy - mine was £500.

@Tinkerbell098 I'm the same, find the 'trying' bit exhausting as I don't ovulate until a little later as well and once the trying bit is done I'm always so relieved. I haven't tested yet, I try not to as there's only so many BFNs you can take! Not due until Monday and I normally get spotting before AF so I'll see what the next few days bring.

@Decaffe that's so interesting. So does a cyst mean that you don't ovulate from that ovary? I have a cyst as well. Maybe that explains why it's taking us a while. Thats good you got that advice though and you can go for it this month and not worry too much about skipping next month.

Decaffe · 18/02/2022 18:50

I’m really not sure to be honest. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that there were only two follicles that’s the issue, or if it’s the cyst? I wish I’d asked!

Have they ever mentioned removing your cyst @kmbegs?

Indianna2006 · 18/02/2022 20:04

@kmbegs @Decaffe

I’m not entirely sure but as far as I’m aware I don’t think one cyst would stop you ovulating. Think normally if it’s like PCOS can stop ovulation. But maybe as there was only a few follicles seen she thinks it’s not likely happening that side?
But if your due to ovulate the right side this month anyways I think the dominant ovary has more that month anyways so not entirely sure it’s an issue?

Do you get any thing to suggest you ovulate like pains etc one side? Or discomfort? And does it alternate for example? x

kmbegs · 19/02/2022 04:49

@Decaffe I've been told they only consider removing cysts that are quite large (I think 4cm?) but mine is less than that. I obviously asked about how it impacts fertility but was told it doesn't. I have always wondered if that's true or not though.

Decaffe · 19/02/2022 09:44

I do get ovulation pains and twinges from my LHS (the good side), though never really on my right side, so I’m not surprised that’s my dodgy side.

Apparently there are two types of cyst, mine is pathological/dermoid, meaning the cyst is going to be made of hair/teeth/bone etc. My Googling last night told me these ones should ‘always’ be removed. 😕 I’m going to give it a week then ring the hospital and ask for a copy of the report. I have no idea what the next steps are.

NatW2021 · 19/02/2022 10:01

@Decaffe - isn't it just a nightmare getting tests just leads to further researching/questions, i just find it hard to trust medical professionals as i just feel you get fobbed off and they arent keen on ensuring everything is optimal.

Does anyone know anything about baby asprin? I came across some information about it reducing inflammation? When i had my thyroid checked i also had checked my CRP which indicated higher level of inflammation which could be due to my thyroid and i have been trying to reduce through diet but considering trying baby aspirin x

kmbegs · 19/02/2022 11:56

@NatW2021 I so agree I don't really trust what they say. Which feels silly, they're the experts, but they just seem so quick to fob you off whenever they can. I don't know anything about baby aspirin but I'll do some research too, I've heard it mentioned on forums so must be helpful in certain situations. Let us know what you find as well.

Tinkerbell098 · 19/02/2022 12:09

@NatW2021 completely agree regarding getting fobbed off. My GP is the worst. This is one of the reasons I enjoy going to acupuncture as it’s the only place (face to face) I feel like someone’s listening and being supportive and helpful.
I took baby aspirin post ovulation until AF last cycle but noticed big clots in my periods which I’ve never had before so I stopped taking them thinking that’s what caused it. Could have been totally unrelated though.

Tinkerbell098 · 19/02/2022 12:11

@Decaffe hope you get a detailed report from the hospital and a plan of action.

kmbegs · 19/02/2022 17:43

Hi everyone. Messaging from the checkout at tesco while I wait for a bunch of pregnancy tests to have their security tags removed because I JUST GOT A BIGGGG FATTTTTT POSITIVE!!!!!!! 12th month. It must have been an issue with my tubes! I only had one test so trying not to get ahead of myself but wasn't first morning urine and I think I'm only 12DPO and was very very clear positive. I'm obviously praying praying praying this works out but trying to tell myself that if not at least I know it's possible. Aahhhhhh!!!

Indianna2006 · 19/02/2022 18:02

@kmbegs omg thats amazing!!! Bloody frustrating at the same time! But yay!

Bet you can’t believe it!

Tinkerbell098 · 19/02/2022 18:15

@kmbegs OH MY GOD!!! I’m screaming in excitement!! That is amazing news!! This explains your really high BBT. I’m glad the horrible experience with the hycosy wasn’t for nothing. This brings us all hope! Good luck for the next test and please send us a photo of your BFP!! Really excited for you xx

NatW2021 · 19/02/2022 18:23

@kmbegs amazing news congratulations!!!! Omg bet it doesn't feel real!! Really does give me hope!! So pleased for you xx

kmbegs · 19/02/2022 19:57

Thanks so so much everyone! I've done two more tests, one digital which said pregnant and another first response which came up positive immediately as well. I've attached them all. I'll do another couple in the morning then get my husband to hide the rest and just hope for the best. Honestly can't believe it. I hope this brings everyone a bit of hope, especially those with recent hycosy's / HSGs or with them coming up. Also sorry if it's hard to hear, which I obviously get and wouldn't blame anyone for.

Aubyone · 19/02/2022 20:09

Oh my god @kmbegs congratulations I am so so pleased for you. I was checking in this thread and kept checking back when you said about the high BBTs as I had a positive feeling for you. The power of those Hycosys!

Enjoy the feeling! Huge congrats.

kmbegs · 19/02/2022 21:57

Thank you @Aubyone 😘

BritInNZ · 20/02/2022 07:05

@kmbegs omg this is amazing news and I'm sure it has brought us all a little extra hope too!!! You must be so over the moon!

@kmbegs bet your floating on a cloud!!

With DHS recent SA results and the fact he seemed to be very fertile. I’m booking in a Hycosy for next month.

I’m too late for this cycle and due to ovulate soon ish but feel it needs checking cos I’m SO bamboozled as to why all that sperm wouldn’t be fertilising my egg. I’m sure than is an issue somehow after that with me which is causing us to not get pregnant. And this has given me more hope!

Other than that and wait for my US. Don’t think there is much else I can do after those things other than just keep trying every month.

NatW2021 · 20/02/2022 09:14

@Indianna2006 - me too going to give it this cycle and next then booking myself in. Hopefully my thyroid is getting under control (blood test next week to check) been on my vit d tablets since January, all other tests fine, DH test fine so this is the last thing to check.

Other than could do with losing a bit of weight so that will be my focus after hyscoy then just have to keep trying.

Just trying to keep positive thinking i dont know when or dont know how but it will happen!! 🙏

Indianna2006 · 20/02/2022 09:18

@NatW2021 yes I know. What cycle are you on now? Sorry I’m sure you’ve maybe said.

It is a bit of an expense. But feel it’s worth it rather than waiting 4/5/6 months for NHS. As then I’ve almost covered most bases.

NatW2021 · 20/02/2022 09:42

@Indianna2006 - cycle 9 - i want to give my thyroid medication a chance to kick in and vitamins etc so give it this cycle and next then im going to book in - i am sure everything is fine but you just assume something is wrong which can cause more stress sometimes its just worth the peace of mind or if not good news having a plan x

Indianna2006 · 20/02/2022 09:48

@NatW2021 ahh yes definitely agree. You feel better being proactive.
Yes I’d deff give it a few more cycles and see. Next month is cycle 12 for me so DH agreed is f no luck this cycle 11. We can pay out for private hycosy.

I’m still always secretly hoping and having fingers crossed for a November baby though…but equally the other half of me feels it’s hopeless 😂

I go between logical and worst case scenario dramatic. Messes with your head!

Xx
