Soooo....@Minster2012 is letting the lunatics take over the asylum as she's handing over the driving seat to the passengers and having a well deserved rest after driving us around since June 2020!

I'm sure she'll still be around and you can follow her on Instagram (Minstermusings) where a lot of passengers and ex-passengers have their own TTC or normal accounts too (just be careful not to out anyone on their non-TTC accounts!)

We have a fabulous history of BFPs on this thread since @Minster2012 took over and we need to keep it up...no slacking!

Anything goes and NOTHING is TMI on this bus! Whether you're doing it the old fashioned way or with some help from science, we're all waiting for those 2 pink lines and are here to support each other and try to stay (somewhat) sane along the way

@InkyPaper just popped on to congratulate you I'm so pleased you've got it! 🎉

Dawnbird · 21/02/2022 19:34

@InkyPaper Congrats!!! What a journey!

DKDK123 · 21/02/2022 21:01

Amazing news @InkyPaper, so happy for you! 🥳

InkyPaper · 22/02/2022 14:58

Thanks again everyone 🥰🤗❤️ I rang the clinic this morning to tell them, so it's all feeling very official now! I've got my viability scan on At Patrick's Day, so fingers crossed this embryo goes the distance!

Somatronic · 22/02/2022 15:41

@InkyPaper so exciting! Not long to wait now til Paddy's Day for your scan.

I just got a call from my husband telling me the results of his latest semen analysis are terrible. He's somehow gone from completely normal morphology to 1% and the nurse says now we'll have to do ICSI.

The poor man is highly confused and so am I to be honest.

BellatrixK · 22/02/2022 16:28

How are you and DH today @InkyPaper? Great scan date as well!

@Somatronic that makes no sense at all! No wonder you’re both confused. Will ICSI be covered on the NHS or are you private?

Somatronic · 22/02/2022 16:45

@BellatrixK We're in Ireland where the public system doesn't offer IVF at all so it's all private. This will add another €400 onto the bill. It will probably just mean that we can't now afford the embryoscope or whatever it's called - the thing that looks at the embryos and decides which ones are best or something. I can't remember the details now but when I read about it I wanted it haha.

paintfairy · 22/02/2022 17:35

@Somatronic did he do both SAs at the clinic? My DH had much lower results when we had to do it at home? Also results do vary anyway. Had he left it too long or anything for the hold?
If it's only 400 extra then it's much better than here! It's about 1500 extra here. One thing I would say is that if you are spending your money then its better spent on icsi than embryoscope. It's only useful if you have loads of embryos to save putting in ones that might be less good (and they still grade them regardless). If you only manage a couple then it's really pointless. Neither @InkyPaper or I had embryoscope (and in fact it would have been pointless for either of us) but we did both have ICSI. Also if it turns out you have a problem with fertilisation naturally and you do a round of normal IVF then the whole thing is wasted. With ICSI you've covered that base. So I wouldn't say it's necessarily negative.

@inkypaper 🥳 it's nice saying it out loud isn't it?! Do any of your friends/family know? None of ours did so there was no one to tell. 🤣 But then I did like having our own little secret. 🤞🤞🤞 for the viability scan. I did find this wait a whole lot harder than the 2WW to be honest. Keep busy!

becarefuloutthere · 22/02/2022 18:15

@Somatronic I agree with what @paintfairy said. We also did icsi and it worked first time with 3 embryos in the freezer. (Slightly lower grades but still good ones) best of luck! X
@InkyPaper also agree with @paintfairy again with the three week wait for the viability scan being harder than the tww but you'll get through it! X

InkyPaper · 22/02/2022 19:11

@Somatronic the results of SA can really vary depending on so many different factors. I agree with @paintfairy and @becarefuloutthere**, if you can't do both do ICSI

@paintfairy it's SO WEIRD saying it out loud, I've taken to just saying "implantation was successful" 😂 we've told some friends and family, yeah, there were a lot of people very invested in our IVF cycle 😂 but it felt good to talk about it. Omg you and @becarefuloutthere** are worrying me now - I barely clung on during the TWW 🤣🙈

@becarefuloutthere no sign of the little one yet then? Hope you're doing OK! ❤️

@BellatrixK we're both in a state of cautious optimism, I think. As we're aware a lot could go wrong, so it's hard to be out and out joyful about it all.

Somatronic · 22/02/2022 19:15

@paintfairy thanks for the advice! Weirdly he did the 2 normal ones at home and the one that was bad this time was done at the clinic. He only held off for 2 days because I was ovulating but I don't think that should matter. We'll definitely do the ICSI if they advise it. I'm just bothered because I didn't see this coming after 2 good SA results before. At least we know I guess, rather than going for traditional IVF with bad sperm and failing.

@becarefuloutthere thank you! How are you doing? Anything stirring?!

paintfairy · 22/02/2022 19:19

@Somatronic that's odd then. A short hold wouldn't normal affect quality (only a long one as it can deteriorate). Unless the clinic took ages to process it or something. But if you had 2 ok ones then it does seem a bit odd!
@InkyPaper Implantation was successful. 🤣🤣 Well that works! I still am struggling to say it out loud. Its so hard to get your head around. But then I pointed out to DH it took me about 2 years to get used to having a different surname and being called wife, so it doesn't bode well. 🤭

becarefuloutthere · 22/02/2022 20:24

@InkyPaper oh shit sorry hun! It's doable though, work helped distract me. I basically just acted like it wasn't real until that scan 😅
Yeah no sign of her but doing well thanks 😊
@Somatronic good thank you, she best be stirring in there 😂 just not quite enough yet!
@paintfairy haha same as me with the name change, only did it a few weeks ago so it's been like 2.5 years 😆 I took to wife quite well, I liked that 😊

Franklydear · 23/02/2022 03:36

Sunbird24 · 23/02/2022 07:25

MNHQ have taken it down now @Franklydear, but it was going to get my first ever Biscuit if they hadn’t!

Somatronic · 23/02/2022 08:47

Morning. I'm sitting in the freezing cold waiting to go to the doctor's to do a chlamydia test. Apparently a swab is involved 🤢 IVF clinic orders. Hope your mornings are going better!

larrythelizard · 23/02/2022 09:18

Ah shit @lakejupiter

@Somatronic there's some ladies who got BFPs who know about sperm quality and improving it. I'm a bit shit and can't remember but @Minster2012 will know the right people to tag in. There's been some good stories based on supplements and also walnuts (although walnuts may have come from a RL friend)

Great news @InkyPaper - now for mega distraction until the 17th!

I hate being awake in the wee hours @Franklydear - always lonely

Franklydear · 23/02/2022 11:21

@Somatronic oh dear, not pleasant, remember you asked, my morning is going awesome, I now have an Etsy shop and a display in a physical shop, my first sale this morning, of a granny square purse, and an order for baby shoes due Saturday, the order not the baby, this is getting real.....

Franklydear · 23/02/2022 11:23

@larrythelizard i used to have great combos with Skipp as it was her daytime..

Somatronic · 23/02/2022 12:14

@Franklydear that's great news on your business! Congratulations!

@larrythelizard thank you! The clinic rang me today saying that the consultant wants to talk to DH tomorrow about his semen analysis. The poor man. I feel bad for him. I assume it's just to explain ICSI to him maybe? I don't want to push him at the moment - he knows himself what he has to do to improve it. I'll leave him to figure it out for himself for now.

The chlamydia test was fine. I just didn't expect to have to go through the whole speculum and cervical swab routine today though. I was told initially that it would be a urine test only. Anyway the doctor said my cervix looks great so my cervix and I are happy with that!

Manifestingbaby · 23/02/2022 12:44

@Somatronic @larrythelizard on the SA @justanothercyster was one success story and there was another I think but drawing a blank. @Minster2012 had recommendations for supplements.

@InkyPaper here's hoping this next wait flies for you.

@Franklydear great news on your crafty venture.

Girls I've been a shitty passenger these last couple of months but truth be told I've been winding down emotionally from ttc. This is my last cycle on letrozole and we've decided it's our last cycle ttc. I feel closer to a breakdown than a bfp at this stage so time to draw a line under it and move on. I won't say goodbye just yet but wanted to explain as I feel I've been a bit rudely absent/half heartedly contributing for some time now.

Franklydear · 23/02/2022 12:50

@Manifestingbaby I am on the same boat, we decided to stop trying in march and it's looming over me now, we have to stop at some point.... I don't know at what stage I'll desapear or maybe just stay forever as a ghostly presence!

becarefuloutthere · 23/02/2022 14:25

@Franklydear @Manifestingbaby ah ladies 🥺 I understand though if you need to draw a close to this chapter in your life. It's very all consuming!!

I was the other one with mfi @Somatronic my Dh went onto proxeed plus and stopped smoking (was on about 5 a day). He started running, eating more oranges for vitamin c and generally being healthier. Cut right bk on booze, had more leafy veg etc. he went from low everything to really high count, better motility and above average morphology.

Bundaberg84 · 23/02/2022 16:15

@InkyPaper that's awesome news, congratulations!!!!
