Soooo....@Minster2012 is letting the lunatics take over the asylum as she's handing over the driving seat to the passengers and having a well deserved rest after driving us around since June 2020!

@lakejupiter sorry about AF and yes totally hear you. Partners rarely fully understand the Tww. I hate it, I turn into some crazy, overthinking nightmare when the rest of the time I’m normally quite balanced, and it’s SO LONELY. That’s why I love everyone here.

I read @Minster2012 comment about getting a crystal for pissing, as a suggestion that @Somatronic should be pissing IN crystal. And now I think we all need to immediately go and buy ourselves some crystal glasses to piss in. Imagine how grand and fancy we will feel pissing into crystal. What do we think… highball? Wineglass?

The men definitely take a while to come around. Mine is finally taking it seriously. In particular the thoughts of forking out €5-7k for IVF was the turning point and now he's the one nagging me to DTD every second day which is a welcome change. He did the SA several times without complaint which was good.

It's funny though, he has to do this big work presentation on Wednesday and my first thought of course was that our first IVF appointment is Wednesday and of course he had completely forgotten about it. I've been counting down the days 🤣

Loved hearing how your surrogacy came about @Minster2012 I was always curious but I didn't want to be rude by asking. Makes sense that she offered (what an amazing friend!) I bet she has you run ragged doing favours for her now hahaha

On adoption, I'd love to, but DH is less keen. Mainly because of the process being so long and difficult, our age and the lack of babies up for adoption in this country.

Yes @Minster2012 it's just a first meeting. Have to do it over Skype because of work but hopefully it'll be OK. I'm going to try to push for IVF and none of that IUI messing so hopefully she'll agree with me and proceed.
I googled her and her reviews are good so I'm excited about getting started now!

Good luck with the appointment @Somatronic and hope they let you jump straight to IVF.

Thanks @pennysays that totally sums up my TWW experience. Although I'm a newbie to TTC I'm a pretty robust person these days - been through a lot in my life and had a lot of therapy and worked hard to rebuild my life a couple of times over and did not expect to be so anxious, obsessive and vulnerable during this process, feel a little bit embarrassed talking about how much it has affected me to anyone who hasn't gone through the same thing. So glad to have this space to share experience and not feel as bonkers!

Crystal wee pot! Gonna enjoy my week off from pissing in and on things, even if most of it will be taken up with bleeding into things.

My husband just told me he's arranged for the electrician to come at 8am tomorrow morning so as not to interfere with his remote conference. Our appointment with the hospital is at 9am. He doesn't understand why I'm put out. Sigh.

@Somatronic you’re completely right, so many plates, to keep spinning without falling and husbands are like the assistant, looking at you sweetly, but not helping, you’re the magician....

Well our appointment went very well! She asked me what I wanted to do and I said IVF and she said she agreed so that was easy!

All our tests have been done in the public fertility clinic so she's happy to move straight to IVF in March. I just need an AMH and DH needs a repeat SA and we're good to go! I have a few gigs booked in March and I had planned a few things for my birthday (the government has given us an extra bank holiday this year the day after St Patrick's day which is also a public holiday so I get a 4 day weekend for my birthday so I'm milking it) so I might wait til April.

She was very positive - said my age, weight etc are good, and my autoimmune diseases are well managed so she reckons we have a great chance of success. 55-60 per transfer is what she said which sounds reasonable.

I'm thrilled!

Also she told me that pregnancies and children born from IVF are almost the exact same as those conceived naturally. I looked at her funny and she revised her comment to to say that they are in fact the same as non-IVF babies. Hilarious.

@Minster2012 I felt moved to comment on that one even though I only really post on here. £3k on baby clothes! I was just thinking about the endocrinologist appts/IUI/maternity mortgage payments that could cover. As a person who had to delay TTC until the second half of my 30s I was willing her to just start trying without the 50k savings
