@Skl2021 Yes, I always used to have multiple peak days when using the strips, including month that ovulation was confirmed with blood tests. 3-4 days. I think my LH is on the higher end of normal, but in itself that was never a problem.

Ganesh2022 · 13/01/2022 18:25

This whole experience is just pants any way you cut it, but so sorry for those who felt horribly sick despite things going wrong. So cruel.

Skl2021 · 13/01/2022 18:30

@Ganesh2022 do you know if u ovulated after first peak or last 🤔🙈 I'm running out of stamina now 🤣 x

@Skl2021 according to when my periods would come, it seemed to be the last. In some ways was quite good as I seemed to have a long "warning window" lol.

Skl2021 · 13/01/2022 18:37

@Ganesh2022 I thought it might be 🙈🤣 just my luck! X

Hi everyone,

I had a miscarriage last November, I found out at my 12 week scan. Such a horrible experience.

I feel really apprehensive about ttc again, but I can't get it off of my mind. I'm worried that's it's more to replace what I lost/hormonal desire, then a true yearning for another child. Does that make sense?! Anyone else been through this/felt like this?

xx

Ganesh2022 · 13/01/2022 18:53

@Skl2021 I get it. I had been getting so sick to death of sex. I honestly think my husband would be happy to look into IVF just to avoid the whole thing.

@thinkingoutloud2 hi :) So sorry about the scan and loss. Do you feel like you have some time to think about it? I'm getting to the wrong side of 38 so felt we had to decide pretty quickly what to do, but if I didn't feel pushed for that or any other external reason I'd think about it as long as I needed to/see what thoughts and feelings come up. You can always decide to go for it in future?

thinkingoutloud2 · 13/01/2022 19:06

Thanks @Ganesh2022 I'm older-ish, and my partner is older than me. I have 2 children 6 & 8, this definitely feels like the last opportunity to go for it so to speak.

My last pregnancy was accidental, but was perfect in a way as I don't think I'd have had the confidence to plan it. Such a shame it ended in miscarriage.

I just don't want to regret not having another child in 10 years time, but I worry about going back to baby stuff, and the age gap between my children.

x

Ganesh2022 · 13/01/2022 19:14

@thinkingoutloud2 similar to us, my kids are 7 and 5. Honestly for us, I think the "3 kids all around the same age who can play together" ship has sailed, but I personally don't mind having two big kids and a little one, I figure one will still want to spend time with me when the others are all off with their friends....I think whatever family size/constellation you end up with there are pros and cons. Including sticking to two if that's what the heart says. Ugh...decisions...! If you're on the fence, could you "see what happens" for a year or something? I couldn't b/c I'm too uptight. But I know some ppl can lol.

thinkingoutloud2 · 13/01/2022 19:21

@Ganesh2022 Yes the see what happens approach sounds good, less pressure in my head for sure, and I know you're right about age gaps, I'm sure there are pros and cons to big or small.

I love being a mum to my two, and the thought of extending how long I'll have a little one around does really appeal! x

20viona · 13/01/2022 19:26

Hi all. Painful boobs today but BFN on internet cheapie this morn (why do we use these shit tests) might do FRER in the morn il be 11/12DPO.

JuniperAndTonic · 13/01/2022 19:27

Thanks all, glad I’m not the only one thinking about dates and you’ve made me feel better! But you’re all so right and at the end of the day there’s no perfect time! I feel the same and just really want my rainbow whatever day/month/week month it comes will be perfect no matter what 🌈

I used Clear Blue advanced digital this month, I like that it’s easier to read than a cheapie OPK (just a flashing smiley face when fertility is high then turns to static when you hit your peak) but omg so expensive and didn’t really tell me anything different so don’t think I’ll be buying again! I’ll stick to the cheapie OPKs eventhough it drives me mad!

arianasky · 13/01/2022 19:30

@Skl2021 one same 😂

arianasky · 13/01/2022 19:30

Omg*

calimc83 · 13/01/2022 19:37

@Ganesh2022 ohh those dates are crazy! So sorry...😫...xx

calimc83 · 13/01/2022 19:38

@Skl2021 yep I totally thought I was safe after that first heartbeat...life is cruel 😩 xx

Ganesh2022 · 13/01/2022 19:44

I wish I owned clearblue, they're making so much money off me.

PamelaDoov · 13/01/2022 19:44

@20viona I was still getting negative tests at 12dpo. Didn’t get a positive until I was 2 days late. It’s still early for you :)

Cruz86 · 13/01/2022 19:53

I think I ovulated after the last peak test too @Skl2021, sorry - gotta keep going! Reminds me of when we conceived, literally dtd every night for 11 days and I was done. Put me off sex for life 😂 even now TTC, I'm not going to dtd anywhere near as much as we did before!

My opk has gone so faint tonight now so I've either missed my peak or my body is attempting. Will see what my temp does in the morning.

Good luck with your testing @20viona. Hope af stays away!!

calimc83 · 13/01/2022 19:54

@20viona good luck with the tests! Everything crossed 🤞🏻 xx

Shortmamashortcycles · 13/01/2022 19:56

@Ganesh2022, @thinkingoutloud2, a family friend had an accidental third 7 years after her first two sons, so there's a 9 and 7 year age gap. The third is now 1 and honestly the older kids adore him and help out a bit. The lack of sleep is apparently a killer, so it's not all roses, but a bigger age gap is really not the end of the world - something I've had to slightly reconcile myself to on this journey!

Skl2021 · 13/01/2022 20:07

@calimc83 how u feeling today any brighter? X
@Cruz86 wow I am not doing that 🤣🙈 I'm so fed up with it already 🤦 the thought of doing it again 🙄😬 just get me in that tww already!!! Hope your opks do something soon! So frustrating when they do that! X

calimc83 · 13/01/2022 20:28

@Skl2021 yep feeling a bit more positive today. First week at work is done as well. Made some holiday plans, going horse riding tomorrow and booked my reflexology for next week. Trying to sort my head out and get in a good place! When does your 2WW start?! X

Cruz86 · 13/01/2022 20:36

It really becomes such a chore @Skl2021 😂 I've vowed I will never be like that again, no matter how much I want a baby! X

handbagsandholidays · 13/01/2022 21:39

My son is 10 and so if I fall pregnant anytime soon, he will be 11 by the time this little one is born. I often worry about the age gap but he really longs for a child. It's the only thing he ever asks for every birthday, Christmas etc. I think I want it more for him than anything else.
