Anyone fancy starting an ongoing thread for those who are having IVF/ are planning to try again via IVF soon?

Ds was conceived via IVF - he's now 2.6 and we're stepping back on the scary rollercoaster ride with a FET - I started taking the drugs yesterday!

PS DS much much better today as evidenced by demolition of pancakes at breakfast, adn DD also back at school now. Think I might jsut be able to get an afternoon nap today!!

Hope everyone else ok.

coggy · 05/02/2008 11:08

I hope so Worry, I hope so!!!!!

coggy · 05/02/2008 11:09

BTW...I was hoping about my egg quality....but equally now hoping that you get your sleep!!!!!!

soosy · 05/02/2008 13:26

Congrats OAP are you having a 2 or 3 day transfer or going for blasties?

Oh Wilmouse you can be strong, hold out til friday!

Sticki, sorry to hear, but they may coast you for a couple of days.

Coggy, hope all is well and you have a good scan tomorrow.

Day five here in the 2ww house, acupuncture this morning, my acupuncturist was pleased with me, god knows what that means. I feel like I have passed some special test! But I have to say the pessaries are causing some quite painful wind and my poor tummy looks like I am about 4 months pregnant, I just hope nobody asks.... And this afternoon we have a clutch of viewings of the house so now DS wants to poo - about two mins before they arrive!

Sx

Onlyaphase · 05/02/2008 13:48

Will go for 2 day transfer I think as I don't think we have sufficient for any other options. I am paranoid about letting them go further on and then having nothing to transfer!

Last time we had IVF my egg/embryo quality wasn't too good and we had 2 grade 2 day 2 embryos put back - as this resulted in DD we are happy to go for this option again. No idea about embryo grades yet, will discuss with clinic tomorrow.

SS - any news today?

WM - any twinges or symptoms? Will you hold out for Friday?

soosy · 05/02/2008 14:24

If you got pg with a d2 transfer they will probably do the same again, that's why I had a d3 transfer. I was told this time that for a fresh cycle that it didn't matter whether grade 1 or 2, my DS was a grade 2 eight cell embryo, the pg rate is the same. So don't let them tell the egg quality isn't good.

SaveScrabulous · 05/02/2008 14:36

Hi everyone

OAP - fab re the 4 out of 5. Good luck for the transfer.

Coggy - good luck for tomorrow.

Soosy - your 'day 5 in the 2ww house' comment made me laugh. Thank goodness the nation's Tvs aren't tuned in to it all though! I wonder what the acupuncturist means by that! Am so with you with the pessaries causing wind etc. And the need to wear a pant liner - they are so messy!

Sticki - hope things get back on track asap without the increased dose.

WM - any more potential symptoms??!

Well I did a Clearblue today rather than a First Response (stupid as if had been another FR i could have seen if the line was getting darker compared to yesterday's). Anyway there is a line for sure. Still faint but there with no squinting required. And I have been feeling knackered, have slightly bigger boobs and slight nausea sometimes. Swollen tummy too, crampy feelings and most telling of all heightened sense of smell which was no 1 thing I noticed last time (our cleaner put bleach in the sink the other day and I had to leave the room!)

So it looks like for me it's a BFP!

I will just have to see if it lasts so am not getting excited yet as it is such early days given it's only the equivalent of 12dpo.

I guess I will call the clinic on Friday if I am still getting BFP s and arrange to go in on Monday for a blood test (they said to test at 16 days post transfer but that assumes a day 2 or 3 ET I think).

!!!

SaveScrabulous · 05/02/2008 14:38

oh gosh I hope that comment re BFP doesn't sound smug - I so didn't mean it to sound the way it does.

coggy · 05/02/2008 14:42

Oh...oh...oh...SS.......tell us when we can get officially excited!!!!

Can you tell I already am??!!!

soosy · 05/02/2008 14:46

SaveScrabulous · 05/02/2008 14:48

I'm going nowhere girls. First up it's totally early days, secondly you've been fabulously supportive and thirdly I need to know how you all get on!

Let's hope for more BFPs!

Oh go on then Coggy - shall I say we can get a tiny bit excited!??!

Onlyaphase · 05/02/2008 15:41

Congratulations SS! Am so so pleased for you and your family! Have you told anyone else in RL - other than your DH of course!

coggy · 05/02/2008 19:24

nomoremagnolia · 05/02/2008 20:46

Congrats SS Really pleased for you
Coggy - I look forward to seeing you get excited properly

worrymerchant · 06/02/2008 10:14

Hi Everyone ---

SS - WHAt fabulous news, am really thrilled for you and hope you go from strrnght th strength.

As for me, I am really not coping very well, I feel extremely down and cant stop crying.

I did a test early this morn and it was blank. I can't really cope and hterefore I think I am goign to drop out for a while.

Of course I will look in now and then to see how you're all doing.

Wish all of you the very best,

WM xxx

Sticki · 06/02/2008 10:20

CONGRATULATIONS SS!!!!! Fantastic news. Im very excited for you (like Coggy). Glad the symptoms are strong.....

Only - hope transfer goes smoothly today. Do you get to see a picture of your embryos before they put them in? (our clinic shows you them then gives you a pix of the ultrasound when they are released - we get far too emotionally involved and have always named them!)

Soosy - Day 5 in the 2ww house made me laugh too! Its just like that - ticking off the days of endless waiting. Glad you have got lots of viewings, even though its v hard work. Fingers crossed for lots of good news re offer and bfp in your house next week!

Coggy - hope the follies are growing well? Are you still on for Friday?

Im off to the clinic today for scan and bloods so hopefully ploddiing onwards towards EC etc next week. Jeans feel tight (or tighter!) so hopefully thats good news (or is it just Ive been eating too many pancakes in my hormonal state).

Sticki · 06/02/2008 10:24

Oh worry Im really sorry you are so down and the test was blank today. I know you probably dont want to hear but sometimes you can get tests that dont show and then a few days later on they actually do.

Big hug. Take care.

SaveScrabulous · 06/02/2008 11:22

Worry - please do come back and tell us how you are if you feel like it. It might well be too early to get a reading on the test and it depends on the type of test as some won't show until the equivalent of the day your period would be due/ 14 days after conception.

Hope you are ok.

soosy · 06/02/2008 11:41

Oh worry hope you are ok and come back and see us when you are ready. Try testing in a few days you never know, and the fat lady ain't singing.

Sticki gald things are going well for you and jeans tighter, still waiting to get mine back on!

SS I hope you are taking it easy and not doing anymore tests, you'll need every penny you have!

Day 6 in the 2ww house, no viewings, thank god, so can actually cook some food for us to eat! Going to pick up DS from school in a min so will be back later.

Sx

EHM · 06/02/2008 12:22

worry for you{{hugs}}It maybe too early to test? Try & come back when you can it may help to say how you feel.I am probably typing/saying the wrong things just trying to help as I/we know how awful it feels. Take Care.x.x
SS congrats!
coogyhope ec is still on for end of wk?
soosy i've everything crossed for you.
stickihope clinic appointment goes well.
OAP good lick with the transfer.

Hope I haven't missed out anybody, if I have I am very sorry. Find the thread very hard to keep up with Still having injections no problems except can't stop eating sweet things. Not good for my waistline

coggy · 06/02/2008 18:17

Worry........So sorry to hear that you're feeling so low. I hope that you have better days in this coming week and that you get your elusive BFP in a few days time.
Take care of yourself.
X

nomore....I can go way more excited than that!! Just wait and see!!!!
(Actually for a while I thought that I'd broken MN as it all went a bit funny and couldn't fit my woohoooo in on the screen!!! )

EHM....sod it...I think some sweet things are a suitable pay off for having to go through all this horrid injection malarky don't you?!
Having given up the alcohol we gals need some treats eh? I have had a ridiculous amoiunt of choclote in the past week....not normally that bothered about it but definitely comfort eating!!

Sticki...I hope all goes well with your bloods and other tests. Let's hope you get to your EC a darn site quicker than I!!!!

Soosy...day 6.....nearly halfway through your stay in the 2WW house!!

My scan today was good....HURRAH!! AT LAST!!!!
5 biggies and 2 smaller follicles. My lining was a much healthier 9.9mm so all is set up and ready to go for EC on Friday morning.
I am so pleased!!!!!

soosy · 06/02/2008 19:28

Fab news Coggy, good luck for friday. I am hoping not to be voted out of the 2ww house this time! Although a did have an optimism wobble this afternoon. Back on track now,

Have good evening everyone

Sx

EHM · 06/02/2008 19:44

coggy i like your way of thinking good look for friday.
soosy keep up the count down, not long now.x

SaveScrabulous · 06/02/2008 20:58

Coggy - that's fantastic - I bet the two little ones might get bigger by Fri too so you'd have 7- that's be brilliant wouldn't it!

Soosy - those optimism wobbles are so part of the 2ww aren't they!
