I thought I was out after heavier brown spotting on Friday but I'm really stressing now as I'm still only having a bit of brown spotting. I think the booster and having covid must have ruined my cycle and I'm really worried that it's going to affect things. This is my 6th cycle off the pill and I've had very regular cycles since then.
C1 27 days
C2 26 days
C3 26 days
C4 25 days
C5 26 days
C6 I'm not on 27 days, 28 if nothing turns up today.

I've had pink/brown tinged CM since CD22 this cycle so it's really weird. I've found since friday I have a bit of brown spotting and cramps for the morning but then afternoon and evenings I feel fine. Argh so frustrating

Hi 🙋‍♀️
Welcome
Good luck x

Shortmamashortcycles · 09/01/2022 18:36

Welcome @lakejupiter, the two week wait is a bit of a headf*ck, to be honest. I also ovulated today so we can ride it out together. Fingers crossed you get lucky straight away.

Do you have any more info about which blood test results were a concern? If you want to share then we may have some experience in the group. If not, of course don't worry. I'm pleased you're getting a consult with an endocrinologist early doors - they're much more clued in than GPs and mine was a flipping godsend!

jazmine38 · 09/01/2022 18:38

@Hopingforarainbow27 I'm tempted to as well but it'll only 8 dpo for me. And will obviously be negative

Hi there! Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Re: hormones - my progesterone was 29.9 so just under 30. I had high testosterone (1.8 nmol) and an abnormal FSH to LH ratio?? My GP was very negative about the results and about my age (36) but he also tried to explain menstrual cycles to me so im not really sure if he's a fertility expert! Would love any insight anyone has about PCOS and these kinds of hormone levels!

Hi everyone, I haven’t been on this weekend as I’m really trying not to obsess too much! Congrats to those who have BFPs, gives us all some hope! 💫
The EPU called me today to say I should take a pregnancy to make sure my HCG levels are back to zero. I know they are as I took a FR a couple of weeks ago and it was a stark white negative. Anyway, she got it in my head to test which is absolutely ridiculous as I’m only 9DPO and I only had a CB weeks indicator 🤦🏼‍♀️ Of course it came back as ‘not pregnant’ and then I did the silly thing of opening the test out of curiosity. It has the faintest line but I’ve heard that means nothing on these tests so it was a pretty pointless exercise!
I have some FRER coming tomorrow and AF is due Wednesday/Thursday so time will tell 🤞🏻
Who else is testing in the next couple of days?

Hoping to get our BFPs in January ✨
HelloNope · 09/01/2022 18:50

I've just realised that I'm due to ovulate, according to Flo app, on the 25th Jan! So I'll stick around still haha

I had some spotting yesterday, very light pink and then nothing for the rest of the day and nothing today either. I've done some First Response tests that I got from Amazon but they're all negative, and I did a clear blue digital one as it's 4 days until AF is due but BFN.

Surely i would have a positive result by now? I've got a massive spot on my chin so AF is probably going to turn up!

Shortmamashortcycles · 09/01/2022 18:52

@lakejupiter, hmmm maybe someone here can advise - my issue was with my thyroid, not PCOS.

What you mention are classic PCOS issues, though, so hopefully the endocrinologist can help if this cycle doesn't work out. I think both issues respond to medication, but that's based on very scant knowledge - my friend has PCOS so have had some chats with her. Aren't bodies fun! /sarcasm

lakejupiter · 09/01/2022 18:52

@Shortmamashortcycles I should also say my GP told me I def have PCOS and that in his opinion im unlikely to conceive without help. But he also didn't know what an OPK test was, didn't know anything about home insemination or my rights around access to fertility treatment, and yeah tried to mansplain periods to me so I don't feel very confident and would really like to change GP.

I have regular cycles & seem to ovulate regularly according to OPK/EWCM/ovulation pain, and don't have many PCOS symptoms though I do struggle with weight gain and have a BMI in the "overweight" category. Hoping an endocrinologist can help me a bit more than my GP!

lakejupiter · 09/01/2022 19:00

@Shortmamashortcycles oops apologies for the crossover and the medical info dump 😂 glad the endocrinologist could help w thyroid issues and hopefully someone with PCOS knowledge can give me a bit more context for these results!

I'm also very happy to be able to distract myself from my own TWW by obsessing over all these lines and symptoms. So lovely to not be alone in this journey and to give my coparent a break from my endless ruminating 😂

Purple29 · 09/01/2022 19:12

@lakejupiter when I saw a fertility specialist in 2019 just before we conceived DS my progesterone came back 4 months running at 29.9 he said it was under the 30 they like but not enough to concern him. He was pretty satisfied I was ovulating. Dont know about the other hormones tho.

I've mentioned on here before the method he told me to use for days and it worked for me after 2 years of nothing. If you want me to repeat it just let me know.... Good luck 🤞🤞🤞

lakejupiter · 09/01/2022 19:21

@Purple29 I would love for you to repeat it! I'm new here so still figuring out how to use MN and finding it a bit overwhelming 😂

Purple29 · 09/01/2022 19:30

We had been trying for 2 years and had nothing. I saw a fertility Dr and his advice was because my cycle was regular at 28 days to dtd on day 7 (more to empty dh of any older swimmers) then nothing till day 11 (give him time to build some up that we're more mature but not old) this would hopefully leave some lying in wait for ov, day 13 (the day before ov) and day 15 (incase I ov late)

He said dont pee on sticks (they had just tested my progesterone levels for 4 months so they knew I was)

I did it this way for 2 moths and conceived DS.

We started ttc #2 in September and had to adjust to days 6, 10, 12 and 14 as my cycle is now 27 days. Got a BFP in Dec, unfortunately it was ectopic tho.

My friend used it adjust to a 32 day cycle (so days 11, 15, 17 and 19) worked for her after 1 cycle!!

@lakejuputer just make sure your co-parent gives his samples on the days that fit your cycle. Cause its also about the swimmers.

Its not a guarantee but it worked for us and I felt took the pressure off a bit.

Billymay · 09/01/2022 19:31

@Purple29 yes please, I’d like to know as well as I just have that gut feeling I’m out again this month. Xx

mightbeyesmightbeno · 09/01/2022 19:52

Have just looked back on my app at symptoms that I had the last 2 months when I've had BFP's that have ended in chemicals. Almost exactly the same symptoms to the day in the last 2 months, and now this month absolutely nothing. So if nothing kicks off in the next few days then I'll know I'm out I think. AF not due for another week tomorrow but symptoms have been exact / consistent and we're also the same with DD when I conceived her.

So feeling pretty deflated.

Going to have to try really hard next month to get more sex in during fertile window... but no messing around from DH 😂

Mariabombia · 09/01/2022 19:53

@Purple29 what would you do if your cycle is anything between 26-30 days?? & did the doctor say why you shouldn't do it every day during FW? Xx

Mariabombia · 09/01/2022 19:57

Also i know pms and early preg symptoms are meant to be similar but my pms symptoms literally start from after O. So I feel like I'm going to know from the start of my luteral phase whether I'm pregnant or not 🤨

Anyone that has bring preg before did you notice any difference between early preg & pms symptoms? Xx

RosyappleA · 09/01/2022 20:02

I have a feeling i am out too, now i am getting more acne :(. I am another one here who will be trying the purple method next month. @Purple29 if i have spotting the day before my period do i count that as day 1 with this method. As i have heard that some fertility experts treat spotting as day 1?

Purple29 · 09/01/2022 20:04

He never told me what someone with irregular cycles would be best to do, but maybe take an average.
He just said to do every second day as it gave the sperms that little extra day to mature in-between. Also he said it wasn't needed everyday as sperm lives for a few days inside, so he said it takes the pressure off and keeps it fun. He did say if you did it that extra time it's not a bad thing. But to try and give DH that few days between 7 and 11.
He never went into his theory but he had been a fertility specialist for a long time, he retired when I was in hospital with ds.

Hopingforarainbow27 · 09/01/2022 20:06

@Mariabombia not really. Just needed to wee more when af was due

Mariabombia · 09/01/2022 20:14

@Purple29 ah okay. Thank you so much for the advice. My cycle was always 28 days but last few months it's been 30 & then 26 ! Argh

Mariabombia · 09/01/2022 20:15

@Hopingforarainbow27 ah okay, that's good to know

Billymay · 09/01/2022 20:31

@Purple29 thank you for that! Will be handy for the future if we are unlucky this month. I have a normal 28 day cycle and we dtd cd6,8,12,13,14… the last 3 times we haven’t bd after supposed ovulation so maybe I have ovulated late? Who knows? Just wish I could knock on my ovaries door and have a chat.. hey ovary! so when are you ovulating this month and I’ll make sure the swimmers are in ☺️ I don’t use opks so I really am clutching at straws. Xx

Hi everyone! Can I join? Was part of November and December threads but have been very quiet for a couple of weeks now. Have had Covid the last week so just getting over that and after a very long 50 day cycle last month (1st one off the pill) I am feeling ready to go again on CD8. Started doing OPKs today but absolutely no idea when my peak will be or how long this cycle will be so taking each day as it comes!!
