Does anyone on here have any experience of using clomid? I was due to start taking it after 2 years of ttc when I got a miracle BFP with my first. I was hoping I would be able to conceive #2 naturally but beginning to think I may need some help if it takes much longer so might ask the gp for the prescription.

Brunette1989 · 06/01/2022 23:09

@RosyappleA thankyou for your kind words trying to keep positive it's just so hard.
I've ordered some clearblue ovulation tests for this month to try and help me feel more positive.
Not sure what else I can try/do differently so any suggestions would be gladly received 😊 xx

madeleine85 · 07/01/2022 04:46

@BabyBird20 how far into the ttc journey for #2 are you? I only tried easy at home tests, but can say they’re cheap and work. Everyone has different peaks though and I’ve heard people can have peaks lower than the control and absolutely can be ovulating, it is just that their non ovulation baseline is lower. Crossing everything that you get a quick 2nd pregnancy. It’s really great you’re being proactive about it/getting GP checkups, though hopefully unnecessary for you x

HMFx · 07/01/2022 07:03

Morning all!

Got my peak fertility smiley on the CB advanced digital this morning. Yesterday it was just a circle! Has anyone else experienced missing the flashing smiley?

I can feel ovulation coming. My stomach is crappy and my lower back sore as well as my boobs. Annoyingly haven't DTD since Monday night but we will be doing tonight, tomorrow and the day after (husbands promised lol!)

BabyBird20 · 07/01/2022 07:14

Morning @HMFx that actually happened to me the first cycle I used the cb digital one. Got a blank circle one day then peak the next... immediately jumped my dh at 6.30 am that day and the two following days and ended up pregnant that cycle! I wonder if I got the blank circle as I tested to close to the LG surge so it hadn't set a base level in time before the actual surge came. Disclaimer though... this hasn't worked the last 2 cycles using cb so doesn't work every time

Thanks @madeleine85 it took two years the first time (one year of not actively trying but no protection, 6 months of cycle tracking before fertility investigations began and then if just had scans and been diagnosed with pcos when I finally fell pregnant. I was determined to be more relaxed about it this time so have been not using protection but not actively tracking since June. This is cycle 3 of using the opks and can digital again so fingers crossed!! The doc reckoned I probably only successfully ovulate every other month though so tempted to ask for the clomid to help with that.

Lillyofthevalley15 · 07/01/2022 07:32

Hi everyone, I'm new to the thread and find it really comforting to read your stories. My DH wants to keep TTC to ourselves so it can be a bit of a lonely journey having no-one to talk to about it - although I may have had one too many proseccos at Christmas and told a few family members!

This is our first time TTC, now cycle 3 and despite having a medical background I fully expected it to happen within the first few months! I'm now realising that that is not how it works. I am using the LH tests, chatting BTT and using the natural cycles app which says I usually ovulate about CD17. I caught covid this month which seems to have delayed things a bit as I am on CD20 today and only just got a positive LH surge yesterday and cramps today. I'm hoping that having covid doesn't mean I'm completely out this month! Once ovulation has (hopefully) been confirmed I will be testing on the 19th when AF is due.

Anyway good luck to all of you and fingers crossed you get your BPFs this month!!

HMFx · 07/01/2022 07:40

Oh thanks @BabyBird20 that's made me feel a bit better I was worried it wasn't working properly but that does make sense. He's not escaping me tonight don't you worry 😅

Welcome @Lillyofthevalley15 and good luck for this cycle. I also use natural cycles and I usually ovulate around CD17 but seems early this month as I'm only CD9 and have my peak. I had my Covid booster a couple of weeks ago so think this has changed my cycle this month too.

Good luck to everyone testing today! ✨

SkaterChick · 07/01/2022 08:04
@BabyBird20 here’s what mine usually look like on Premom. Once it starts dipping at all I usually stop testing lh as it will stay down until next ovulation. I will say the % ovulation is a little hit or miss during the month, but once ovulation is there it’s very obvious. For me the test line shows before the control develops etc so there’s no doubt. Good luck for this month x
Where do you get your opks?
I've been using cheap £land ones and I get vv faint line then usually a stronger line then back to vv faint then nothing. So I usually take the stronger line as my peak. I never get this much lines!!

kizzy97 · 07/01/2022 08:05

@HMFx can't help but chuckle at the phrase he's not escaping you as I'm the exact same with DP! He's actually complaining it's going to fall off 😅😂 everything crossed for your BFP this month! xx

Decaffe · 07/01/2022 08:25

Morning all! I did a FRER late last night on a four hour hold, and one this morning. Nothing to report, both tests had a visible line even before they were used and this just became slightly more visible when wet. So I think yesterday morning’s one was a particularly rubbish evap/indent, when are they going to sort out the quality control?!

Welcome @Lillyofthevalley15 it sounds like you’re doing all the right things Smile Yes, I was utterly convinced I would fall pregnant on the first go, because that’s the message I’ve received all through life! Oh the irony Grin

Hi all, I was meant to test today but AF arrived yesterday morning, and I was devastated 😭. Why are our bodies playing tricks on us? I ALWAYS spot at least a day before AF if not more, and I NEVER have a cycle that’s longer than 28 days (usually 26 days l, and I have had one or two 28 day cycles in the last 10 months but NEVER longer). Two days ago was CD 28 and no spotting at all, so I was sooo sure this time and thought I’d test the following AM, ie yesterday, only to wake up to AF. I was doing so well not to symptom spot but by day 28 with no spotting I thought based on past 10 month data that that’s it. Felt really sad yesterday 😢.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 07/01/2022 08:28

@Decaffe oh no, that’s so rubbish there was a visible line even before testing. Are they internet FRERs?

Decaffe · 07/01/2022 08:39

No, from Boots! And not cheap! Hmm

Ah sending you a big hug @DancinOnTheCeiling, our bodies can be so frustrating sometimes!

I'm out this month, heavy spotting started this morning (a day early as period due tomorrow). I'm gutted and cant stop crying (I know that's silly, I think it's the mental thing of passing 6 cycles). I'm 31 next month and it's looking increasingly unlikely I'll have a baby until I'm 32.

DancinOnTheCeiling · 07/01/2022 08:48

That’s pretty shocking @Decaffe, I always thought of FRERs as really good. Thanks for the hug 😘

DancinOnTheCeiling · 07/01/2022 08:50

So sorry @PoleFairy. Not silly to cry at all, let it all out. Sending hugs 😘

CJB92 · 07/01/2022 09:13

Morning ladies
Another almost positive opk, now thats 7 days.
Did the same brand pink dye test I usually do that has had stronger lines and today its so faint its barely visible. Its easier to see in person but I've attached a photo.

I also did a tesco test and had a fairly strong faint bfp. But both tests are the same sensitivity at 25miu.

Hoping to get our BFPs in January ✨

kizzy97 · 07/01/2022 09:34

@DancinOnTheCeiling and @PoleFairy I'm sorry, bug hugs! Fingers crossed for this next cycle for you xx

@Decaffe I've heard great things about frer and how idk if I'm going to try them now! But either way I'm hoping that they are bfps for you and not indents/evaps xx

@CJB92 how bizarre! Hopefully you'll get some answers on Monday when you go for your scan xx

arianasky · 07/01/2022 09:39

Thank you @Decaffe I just read some of the threads myself thank you, I'll definitely be picking some up in the next few days and I'll start taking it when I ovulate, sorry to hear about your indents your still early though so you're not out yet 🤞🏻🤞🏻

HMFx · 07/01/2022 09:44

@kizzy97 haha you have to be don't you! I got upset we didn't dtd last night actually a bit teary! Woke up this morning had a word with myself and now laughing about it but it's game on tonight haha

So sorry @DancinOnTheCeiling and @PoleFairy totally normal to be upset. Fingers crossed for your next cycle and sending you both a hug 🤞🏼

PoleFairy · 07/01/2022 10:01

Thank you all. I've pulled myself together now, probably the AF hormones not helping!

Hope everyone who's still in gets their BFP this month. Would be good to get some in the group

Timeaftertime21 · 07/01/2022 10:06

@PoleFairy I'm the same as you. AF arrived last weekend, I'm 31 next month and next week will be the 6th cycle TTC. I can't quite believe it! Looking back I wish we hadn't jumped straight into 'trying' as a few months have been far from perfect with timing etc. and I wish I'd spent more time understanding my cycle and preparing for pregnancy to take some of the pressure off. I'm trying to spend less time on these boards as I do end up symptom spotting like crazy and feeling disheartened by the amount of people that seem to get their BFPs so easily. I just have to hold onto the fact that they say it can take up to a year for a healthy couple to conceive and keep making positive changes each month. Hope you're okay, it's a really tough journey to be on.

CJB92 · 07/01/2022 10:08

My husband did a test to check if the tesco one was giving me a false positive. Because I had heard some bad things alongside some good about them. My one came up positive in the time and is a thick line. However now my husband test has come up with a faint line! And he's definitely not pregnant 😂 but his line isn't as strong or full as mine. Mine is the top, his is the bottom.

So these tests may not be the best if they are giving him a line even if it's not as strong as my one

Hoping to get our BFPs in January ✨
DancinOnTheCeiling · 07/01/2022 10:54

Thanks @kizzy97 and @HMFx.

Hoping for BFPs for everyone else 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Xxx

lottieb92 · 07/01/2022 12:05

I don’t love the blue tests I know it’s all personal and different, but I’ve had so many promising looking blue ones that turn into nothing.
My other half saw this one and said yes you’re totally pregnant … so I would avoid if you can and buy pink ASAP!
