@BabyBird20

Forgot to attach the photo!
@babybird20 a peak result should be darker than the test line. With the premom app, once you've uploaded the photo (I find a clearer result taking the photo first and uploading from your gallery) you can swipe it to the left and click the small pencil icon. This will allow you to adjust the ratio based on what you can really see and not what the camera can capture. This tends to give me a more accurate reading than the automatic app reading. Hope this makes sense

Asking for advice... I am cd10 and ovu isn't forcasted for another 4 days but I had my cervical smear test today. The nurse said it won't have any impact on my ovulation but has anyone heard of it affecting them or their cycle /ovulation??

madeleine85 · 06/01/2022 17:25

@kizzy97 that’s a tough one. I researched this quite a bit and it brought me to the everyone is different space which is truly frustrating. My first cycle post o I was dry, second one had a ton of ewcm and third successful one was dry straight after then had a bit more. I found that the second cycle I had a massive increase right before af which is apparently normal. When I got my BFP I was dreading ewcm signs for that reason. Good luck x

madeleine85 · 06/01/2022 17:29

@BabyBird20 here’s what mine usually look like on Premom. Once it starts dipping at all I usually stop testing lh as it will stay down until next ovulation. I will say the % ovulation is a little hit or miss during the month, but once ovulation is there it’s very obvious. For me the test line shows before the control develops etc so there’s no doubt. Good luck for this month x

@MyloC

Hi everyone, sorry been back in work today so hard to catch up with the thread.

I will catch up properly tonight when DS in bed but @Decaffe what makes you think yours is a chemical? The 3rd line looks darker to me or is that not from today?

I've attached a better picture of my lines. I'm now doubting them myself! Going to try another brand after work.

Hi Mylo, I think my picture was confusing! The three tests are from three different cycles. They all have lines on though.

The top one was definitely a false positive / evap / indent / call it what you will.

The middle one was today’s test - don’t know what to think.

The bottom one was a true positive from my chemical cycle.

I asked the nurse if she could do it and she said she could but that it would ‘take another test tube.’ I was like, that’s fine please go ahead and take as much blood as you need Xmas Grin but I think she didn’t think I was serious.

I will take another FRER first thing and maybe I’ll see some progression? Absolutely no symptoms or twinges or anything at all today though.

I did have a chat with a family member who is a GP and she advised I start taking 75mg aspirin on the basis that it can’t do any harm and that it might help with implantation - if indeed that is what’s happening right now. So I’m off out to buy some in a bit. Xmas Smile

it might help with implantation - in the context of my previously having had a chemical, that is.

Hi ladies. I'm getting quite a lot of lotion like cm, I'm 7dpo. Is this good or should I be dry?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 06/01/2022 17:43

This is what my app says!

Hoping to get our BFPs in January ✨
MyloC · 06/01/2022 17:48

@Decaffe Ahh ok that makes much more sense. Sorry I was looking at it quickly in work.
I completely understand why you're unsure whether to trust them if you've have lines like that before. Sounds like good advice re the aspirin. I really hope this is your month.

I have taken another frer and line is darker again. Also taken a clear blue which has a light line but definitely there. Think I'll hold out until Sunday now and get a digital.

Shortmamashortcycles · 06/01/2022 18:05

@Sunrise321, to be honest, I'd give the GP a call and press for a progesterone test. Explain your concerns about your cycle - they might blow you off but personally I don't see why you should have to wait a whole year.

The progesterone test is usually day 21 i.e. 7 days post ovulation, but if you have a short luteal phase they may suggest a bit sooner. If you're having v light periods and short luteal phase 5 cycles after finishing the pill it may be worth investigating. I don't mean to panic you at all, but I found when TTC it really helped to check if something felt off.

Geemmm · 06/01/2022 18:18

Wow it moves so quick on here 🙈 congratulations to all the BFPs coming in and fingers crossed for all the ladies still on the journey!

I'm 5dpo today and having lots of little twinges - hoping to hold off until 12dpo to test but know I'm kidding myself 😅 so I think I will test this weekend maybe and drive myself mental instead lol

lottieb92 · 06/01/2022 18:20

@Sunrise321sneaky I know - but I know lots of people who have said they have been trying for longer to a GP. Even if you said 6 + months ? As I have heard they do not do much before a year.
But ultimately think it could be down to the GP personally, their service generally and then of course if you fancy telling a little lie to get the tests done! Worst is they say hold on a few months longer... not sure if this will help but get the ball rolling if you feel up to it :)

BH1926 · 06/01/2022 18:39

@Decaffe oh that's interesting about aspirin. I had two chemicals Oct then Nov so might try that too. Thank you 😊

Fingers crossed you've a sticky bean ❤️

BH1926 · 06/01/2022 18:44

@Sunrise321 I've had two chemicals and said to doc but didn't think she'd do anything as not been a year trying until April but to my surprise she's referred me to start the ball rolling with investigations and said herself they have back log with covid so might aswell get my name on list. So it may be worth a call to GP xx

@AmberRH1993 no the cervical smear won't affect ovulation as the smear / cells are only taken from the outside of the cervix so it doesn't even go through the cervix. No impact at all on overuse / ovulation x

arianasky · 06/01/2022 19:02

@Decaffe in regards to the aspirin is it just normal aspirin 75mg a day? I'd like to know for my next cycle than you

arianasky · 06/01/2022 19:03

@AmberRH1993 I had my smear on July 10th and found out I was pregnant July 25th so it didn't affect my ovulation or implanting

MadamMaltesers · 06/01/2022 19:43

@Small1607 cool not long left, hope af stays away. Il probably test tmw

MarcelineVQ · 06/01/2022 19:52

Hello! Is it okay if I join too? CD1 for me and hoping to get that bfp soon :)

AmberRH1993 · 06/01/2022 20:37

@arianasky @mightbeyesmightbeno thanks ladies. I was so worried it would affect my chances this month. Just waiting for that positive opk 🎉

Yes, I got two packs from Home Bargains! Good luck to you and @BH1926.

Actually there are quite a few threads about using it, I searched earlier!

Lovely to hear your line is getting stronger @MyloC Smile For all that I hate FRERs, I am currently sitting here quite tempted to do one. Glutton for punishment eh Grin

@madeleine85 daaamn! I was hoping with that and the slight spotting yesterday it was good news 😅 hopefully it's the everyones different as you say and that it's my month! Not due af until the 14th xx

madeleine85 · 06/01/2022 21:44

@kizzy97 it is entirely possible it is your month, TTC is such a mind bending zone where everyone is completely different. Keep us posted, and good luck! x

BabyBird20 · 06/01/2022 22:11

Thanks so much for the advice @Queenkai14 @HMFx , I'm hoping that it was a false peak (reading about it apparently it can happen with pcos) and that I may still get a better peak. I'll keep testing tomorrow just to see, I haven't been consistent with timing etc either so probably not doing it properly.

Thanks for the tips @AmberRH1993 I was expecting to see a much darker line for a peak which is why I was surprised when it said I had already peaked. I will try doing it manually for the next few and see if it's more accurate!

@madeleine85 your lines are much clearer/darker than mine, maybe next month I will try the official easy@home sticks. If I don't get a proper peak line in the next day or so I am suspicious I may not actually ovulate this month but trying to hope i will!!
