Preparing to TTC in 2022

WingingIt09 · 28/12/2021 22:39

DH has agreed to starting to TTC baby #3 in April/May. We already have a 2 daughters (age 4 and 2). I'm so excited to start trying! I think it's going to be a long wait until we can start actively trying!

Starting to think about things to do to help prepare my body. I'm currently on the progesterone only pill so thinking of when to stop it. I have 5 days left in this packet and then one packet left after that in my current prescription. Don't know whether to stop when I finishes this packet or at the end of Jan after my next packet. Any experiences of how long it takes cycle to regulate after the pill?

I need to try and eat healthier as I've been so bad recently with Christmas but I'm a healthy weight so not too worried there. Also ordered some TTC vitamins which I remember from previous pregnancies is good to take 3 months before TTC.

Anything else I could do? Is there anyone else who will be starting to try later in the year and so excited that you're already on here 🙈?

@NarnieJoy

Those who are trying, where are you up to in your cycles? Have we got any TWW going on? Soooo many fingers crossed for hopefully 11 BFP's !
I'm cycle day 9 so need to start getting on and DTD Grin
MrsGrealish · 15/02/2022 19:34

@NarnieJoy CD21 not just ready for testing 🤞bit of backache and not confident 😕

HippeePrincess · 15/02/2022 19:45

@hevann this reassures me a lot about my comparably small age gap! I was concerned about "starting again" with mine being well past the baby stage and my eldest starting secondary next year.

I'm on CD8 so hopefully not long til fertile window.. I will be starting to use my OPKs tomorrow to check

I love how much this thread has grown and looking forward to seeing lots of bfps 🥰

Definitely hard to keep up though 😂

My cycles have been really long the last few months but I'm assuming that's because of the pill? No idea what I'll mean for my plan if they carry on.

LucyLoopyLu · 15/02/2022 21:01

I've finally managed to book an appointment to have my coil taken out right at the end of March!
Hopefully will go smoothly (not too worried as I can still find the strings). Anyone else had a copper coil out before? I've heard it's easier out than in!

MrsGrealish · 15/02/2022 21:12

@LucyLoopyLu yes me..no bother at all x

WingingIt09 · 15/02/2022 21:18

@LucyLoopyLu mine was the mirena rather than copper coil but came out easily, just felt a little tug. Very quick! I had a little bit of spotting and some cramping after so take a pad with you just in case xx

@HippeePrincess glad I could help! haha! The 21/22 year age gap wasn't really planned but I decided to concentrate on my career first. Which I kind of regret now but hey ho! At least our baby will have a playmate.... his/hers nephew 🤦🏻‍♀️ who would of thought the little 4 year old I met 17 years ago would have a baby before me & make me a step nan at 35 🙈 x

Hate being so out of sync with my body. Can't tell if I have implantation bleeding or AF making an appearance early at 7dpo. Suppose tomorrow or the day after will tell. Wishing I came off the pill a while earlier so I could tell what is my norm off contraception

PrettyPolly92 · 16/02/2022 07:34

Fiingers crossed for BFPs for everyone soon ☺️💞

Is anyone else who’s waiting secretly hoping for a BFP before officially “trying”?

Off my pill and on CD25, feeling HUNGRY and super clumsy which is different and secretly hoping AF isn’t going to show up at all 🤣

Vasectomyreversalhopeful · 16/02/2022 08:55

I keep hoping that DH's vasectomy reverses itself before we have to pay out to have it reversed Pretty Grin

Dreamingof3 · 16/02/2022 12:32

@vasectomyreversalhopeful imagine phoning them up to cancel 😅

@prettypolly92 I'm not 🤣 getting really impatient though and I want to see if things will line up so I can get pregnant as soon as my holiday is done...or even on holiday 🥰

WingingIt09 · 16/02/2022 17:54

@Vasectomyreversalhopeful haha well fingers crossed for you 😂

@PrettyPolly92 sort of yes and sort of no.... there are good reasons we are waiting and we're using extra contraception since coming off the pill, but still do sometimes secretly hope 😂

@lj2022 I also hate being out of sync. My cycles still haven't returned since coming off the pill and it's really frustrating not to know what's going on/when my period will arrive!

Good luck those of you trying already!

@WingingIt09 That's so frustrating! My implant comes out next week and I'm wondering about how soon to start opks - have heard of people getting a BFP without getting a period after coming off hormones so might just start them like the week after and see if anything comes up?

lj2022 · 16/02/2022 20:55

@WingingIt09 it sucks so bad doesn't it. Mines just seems to be spotting but heavier spotting but not enough to be a period or need pads etc. makes you realise how much of an effect contraception has. Hopefully yours will return to normal soon. My period has always come back regularly and quickly if I've had a break from contraception it seems that may be the case again but it's been so long to remember if I had spotting etc previously. Time will tell

@Amber17 I started OPKs after 1st natural period however the only way to confirm ovulation actually happened is through taking your BBT there's lots of apps for that. I use natural cycles

Hope everyone stays safe in tomorrow's weather 🌪🌪

Anyone else in the West Country?
LucyLoopyLu · 17/02/2022 19:11

Stay safe everyone! We are in the Amber zone (High Peak) but we are set for a stressful few days as our roof started leaking into our bedroom yesterday afternoon!

Hopefully will be able to get it looked at next week but not safe for someone to go up until the winds have dropped

Weve been having issues with ours lately and they've now said scaffolding needs to go up for some work...glad they're waiting to do that 😅
WingingIt09 · 17/02/2022 19:26

@Cheekypeach south coast here so we're an amber warning (like most of the country)rather than the red warning for Southwest coastal areas. Just been attempting to secure the garden furniture and garden toys against the wind but not sure they'll stay out. Our rickety fence is likely to go too as it really needs replacing this spring! 🙈🙈

Eeek good luck everyone.

I’m right by the sea in the SW so bracing for something quite dramatic…

FourOclock · 17/02/2022 20:03

We're not in the south west thankfully but it's worrying isn't it! Hope everyone stays safe

Vasectomyreversalhopeful · 17/02/2022 20:09

DS' school has closed due to Eunice. PJ day for us all tomorrow I think.

hevann · 17/02/2022 20:23

I'm in Hampshire. Bin collections have been cancelled & schools are closing. x
