Preparing to TTC in 2022

DH has agreed to starting to TTC baby #3 in April/May. We already have a 2 daughters (age 4 and 2). I'm so excited to start trying! I think it's going to be a long wait until we can start actively trying!

Starting to think about things to do to help prepare my body. I'm currently on the progesterone only pill so thinking of when to stop it. I have 5 days left in this packet and then one packet left after that in my current prescription. Don't know whether to stop when I finishes this packet or at the end of Jan after my next packet. Any experiences of how long it takes cycle to regulate after the pill?

I need to try and eat healthier as I've been so bad recently with Christmas but I'm a healthy weight so not too worried there. Also ordered some TTC vitamins which I remember from previous pregnancies is good to take 3 months before TTC.

Anything else I could do? Is there anyone else who will be starting to try later in the year and so excited that you're already on here 🙈?

I somehow lost the thread but ive found it again now! After a quick skim to catch up someone said about getting a bit of ttc fear/cold feet.
I’ve started thinking that I don’t know how ill cope particularly at work, some of the things that were supposed to happen just haven’t and we haven’t got very far with sorting out the house and so I doubt we’ll be on track for April. Need to have a word with the dp about if he wants this he’s going to have to find some motivation and be a bit of a driving force in sorting the house.
I’m so exhausted with work I can’t seem to do anything either in the evenings or weekends and we’ve had some social catch ups as well so we’ve been busier than usual.

Trixie22 · 06/02/2022 16:22

Haven't been on here for a while, but we're starting ttc this month! I've stopped the pill now and just finished my withdrawal bleed. Little but nervous as I'm desperate not to have a Christmas baby so that puts lots of pressure on to conceive this month of next!

I'm also starting to realise how hard this pregnancy will be with 2 little ones to look after, not to mention work and the kids swimming lessons that I have to be in the water for as well as their baby gym! 🤦‍♀️ the things we do for our babies! 😂

Bear486 · 06/02/2022 18:19

Hi, I'm doing pretty good thanks. Have had no return of periods as of yet still. No idea where abouts in a cycle I am, as tbh we're just going with the flow, have removed my implant and using no protection and just when it happens it happens. Maybe I should do more to track things but no idea where to start with anything haha!

Cavylady · 06/02/2022 19:59

@cheekypeach I'm sometimes aware of it yes but only if I'm actively thinking about it if that makes any sense! I'll definitely be trying to track it more closely this next month.

@worryant fingers crossed next month will be our month!

@OCM19 fingers 🤞 for your BFP in a week or so!

Nyxxie · 06/02/2022 19:59

@WingingIt09 thanks for checking in with us all! I'm still waiting for my first AF since my withdrawal bleed. Like you I keep getting cramps and thinking it's coming and then nothing. Getting impatient now!

hevann · 06/02/2022 20:16

@WingingIt09 going into my 4th week now since coming off the pill & still no withdrawal bleed! I've been POAS but always negative on the ovulation front. Cramping all the time too but still nothing. Wish my body would just do something. Who'd of thought I'd actually be praying for a period! Lol! x

WingingIt09 · 06/02/2022 20:47

@hevann @Nyxxie @Bear486 a few of us waiting on first periods after coming off contraception then! I never thought I'd be so desperate for my period to arrive 😂🙈

@Trixie22 good luck with your first cycle TTC!

It's crazy isn't it, a thread about TTC and so many of us just willing AF to come along!

WingingIt09 · 06/02/2022 21:53

@Nyxxie won't be long until it's the other way round and we are desperate for AF not to arrive.... but before I can start TTC I need a period to date from 😂 that and I can't start TTC before May for a long list of reasons I am frequently having to remind myself of...

@HippeePrincess I know what you mean.. Me and dh have had quite a bit of stress recently with stone being thrown kitchen window (vandalism) which caused it to smash and we have been having car trouble too and I can't help think that with a kid things would also be more stressful but then I guess with kids life goes on and you just have to learn to adjust with things in life. I am sure my parents went through plenty stressful moments when I was a kid too..
At the moment tentative also to ttc April or May. Think the stress recently doesn't help and dh has an eye operation in March and will need to recover so most likely will start ttc in May

Dreamingof3 · 07/02/2022 10:24

Another one waiting for AF to show up 🙈

I'm yo-yoing between oh maybe a third isn't a good idea and let's just try now 🤣

Our car just failed its mot and is costing us £1200 😭😭 that's the money we'd put aside for our trio to Cyprus in sept gone now and then I think how on earth will we manage a third mouth to feed

QueenBee22 · 07/02/2022 12:39

@OCM19 I am now in the TWW having got peak OPK overt the weekend.

I am determined not to symptom spot this month. I drove myself mad last month and was devastated then when my period arrived :(

Hopefully this month will turn out differently. Fingers crossed for everyone trying this month!

WingingIt09 · 07/02/2022 15:49

@Dreamingof3 I keep also thinking about whether a third is a good idea mostly for financial reasons particularly with the cost of living rising so much! I end up coming back to feeling like I'll regret not having a third and that financially we will just make it work somehow. There is that lingering niggle sometimes though, particularly with everyone assuming we're done with 2 and then saying we're mad to go for #3!

@QueenBee22 fingers crossed for you. It's so hard when AF arrives when you're TTC.

Implant is booked to come out in two weeks and I've downloaded the NaturalCycles app.
Now getting massively overwhelmed by the choice of ovulation tests on amazon. Presumably all of the cheap strips are about the same accuracy?

Dreamingof3 · 07/02/2022 19:54

@WingingIt09 exactly the same. I think I'd kick myself if in a few years we hadn't had a third and maybe miss the chance to! But I think it's normal to have those worries

QueenBee22 · 07/02/2022 20:10

@WingingIt09 thank you.

I think if you both want a third go for it. You don't want any regrets.

WingingIt09 · 07/02/2022 20:15

@Dreamingof3 yes I think it's normal. It's a big decision to make so if we weren't thinking about the pros and cons it would be odd.

@QueenBee22 ultimately we will have a third (if we can anyway), we will regret it if we don't (or I will at least and DH is more than happy to have a third). Just need my periods to come back and a few more ducks to be in a row before we can go ahead.

WingingIt09 · 07/02/2022 22:29

Ok I'm officially losing my mind.... thought since AF still hasn't shown I'd do a cheap pregnancy test since I have some in the drawer... also did an ovulation test. Ovulation test stark white, no hint of a test line. Pregnancy test something catching my eye.... extremely (barely there faint line) came up in the time but is so obviously an indent as we're not even trying yet... I squeeze out another wee and test again... again extreme squinter of a maybe line, 100% likely to be an indent. Why do I do it?? Im so going to end up taking another test with FMU even though I know I'm not pregnant as we used condoms and as far as we're aware they didn't break! Ive gone down the testing rabbit hole and we're not even actively TTC 🙈🙈

Cheekypeach · 07/02/2022 22:47

Oh wow Winging, can you post a photo? Happy to switch my line eyes on!

WingingIt09 · 07/02/2022 23:08

@Cheekypeach it's so an ident/BFN. You can't even see anything in the picture (and this is the test that photographed better of the two) 🙈 as I said I'm losing my mind.

Test with FMU was a stark white BFN so last nights two were just indents as I thought

Dreamingof3 · 08/02/2022 08:04

Oh no @WingingIt09 you've fallen into the testing hole 😅😅 so addictive though.

I see post after post about indents/evaps it's awful that they can have some really convincing ones. I think when we're actively trying I will wait until af is due or late (I say that now 😅)

OCM19 · 08/02/2022 09:49

Hi all

I've just been catching up on this thread so sorry for tagging so many people! Welcome @tryingtryinggone and @lj2022.

@WingingIt09 have you done any further tests?

@HippeePrincess I know the feeling of getting to the end of the day and being exhausted! We also have to sort out our bedroom arrangements if/when we get a BFP as we would need to change the spare room into a study so we have a room for the nursery!

@Trixie22 good luck for your first month TTC.

@Dreamingof3 sorry to hear about your car costs, fingers crossed you can still get your trip to Cyprus soon!

@QueenBee22 how are you doing through your TWW?

I am now 10DPO. I woke up this morning really dizzy, to the point I had to hold on to the stairs! I have been getting a lot of cramping on my left side and left sore boob, but other than that no spotting etc. I did cave and do a pregnancy test yesterday (9DPO) and it was a BFN but I know it's too early, I just had to see! We will test again this weekend when AF is due, unless I cave again Grin.

I hope everyone else is doing ok, time just seems to be standing still in this TWW! I've tried to keep myself busy, I've written a 10 year plan Blush to hopefully help me focus my mind!

NarnieJoy · 08/02/2022 09:54

@OCM19 Interesting symptoms you have there! Fingers crossed for the weekend, although if you are 9-dpo you could find out in a couple of days!

I have been feeling so super fertile, I am on day 12 of my cycle and just want to rip DH's clothes off, but need to be careful as he doesn't want to get pg right now! I just need to keep him wrapped up a few more months Wink how many days of EWCM do people normally get?

Cheekypeach · 08/02/2022 09:55

@OCM19 dizziness was my first pregnancy sign with DD - the sort where standing up makes you see stars. Here’s hoping for you!
